Targus Gravity or League 15.4? backpacks for $10 at Staples after ER; 3/16-
2008-03-17 03:56:00 Rating: 1 Posted By: ZeroWallet Views: 206 Replies: 0 The 3/16-3/22 ad shows the Targus Gravity backpack for $50 - $33 instant = $17 - $7 ER = $10. The Staples I stopped at didn't have any, so I asked if they had any more and they handed me a Targus League backup that had UPC stickers over the regular printed glossy cardboard UPCs. It rang up with the same SKU number (502983), same price and same ER printout. The ER limit on this is 10 per household. Both the Gravity and League list for around $50 so it's a similar bargain, if you think it's a bargain in the first place. I think the major advantage of a $10 Targus bag over a $5-$10 no-name bag is the Targus limited lifetime warranty.(This is not so "hot" but to let you know that some places are substituting League for Gravity, so be sure to ask if you want one of the $10 bags.)More Online Coupons from Fatwallet.com.

Backpacking and Backpacks?
2007-10-15 19:24:00 I *know* I’ve added “backpacking” as a category more than once now, yet it never shows in my category list. It’s under “Travel and Tourism” but for some reason, sub headers don’t show here. Weird. Anyway… The other day, GoBudgetTravel asked “Is the Backpack Even Necessary“, which followed a post from this summer ” What Backpacking ...
Backpacks: Do It Right
2007-09-21 01:10:00 Kids are back in school and that means they're packing extra pounds - on their backs, that is. More homework and fewer lockers mean school-age children are increasingly required to shoulder the burden of heavy textbooks, which may be more than their growing frames can bear. While backpacks are generally the best choice, the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) urges parents to school their children on how to wear one properly and offers the following tips: Wear both straps. Sounds obvious, but even most adults know wearing both straps just isn?t cool. But neither is being waylaid by a serious back injury. Slinging a backpack over one shoulder causes a person to lean to one side to compensate for the uneven weight, thus curving the spine. Over time, this can cause lower- and upper-back pain, strained shoulders and neck, and even possible curvature of the spine. Don't carry too much stuff. Even if that means leaving those N?Sync CDs at home. ''A backpack can range anyw...

"Our kids always face cultural pressures, but once they are back in those school buildings, they'll be spending more time immersed in a peer group that is extremely powerful," he said. "As a parent and a youth worker, I must know what the culture of the peer group is about." "The pressures kids face today are more frequent...

Reware Solar Powered Backpacks for your Clean Energy Needs
2007-06-14 05:41:00 There is this company called Reware that has designed a line of backpack products that contain solar cells on them to collect free energy from the sun. These cool and hip products can keep your electronic gadgets juiced while you may be in the great outdoors, suburbia, or even in the city. Believe it or not...these backpacks can power your cell phone, digital camera, i-pods, and even your laptop. The line of backpacks utilize ThinFilm Solar Power, a revolutionary thin and flexible solar charging system, for all your charging needs. Also, I think its worth mentioning that these backpacks are made from recycled fabrics. Each bag is keeping 8, 2-liter soda bottles from landfills...talk about true eco-friendly products. Being the environmentalist that I am, I would truly choose to charge all my gadgets from my backpack in the backyard rather than letting my energy company charge me. It allows someone to be a little more independent from power companies, while contributing to reducing th...
Rolling Backpacks
2007-03-23 16:01:00 I here by announce a new law banning all Rolling Backpacks. Coming back from Victoria after having some beers on the ferry I just wanted to get the hell out of there. 3 ladies and 1 guy rolling fucking purple backpacks in front of me just fucking out of control. Making annoying little sounds like they are pushing a shopping cart around. The best part is as soon as you get to stairs...They are so fucking lazy they refuse to pick up these stupid fucking things. So when these people are not looking i spit on the back of their rolling backpacks especially if they are trying to pull them down a flight of stairs like some sort of handicapped kid who's elevator is broken. I'm ashamed of a few things I have done in my life like pushing this girl Megan down in grade 4 and breaking her arm.. or the time i grabbed a peacock by the neck in Stanley Park and punched it in the face for biting me... Or the time I made my best friend Allison snort a line of sour cream at a Boston Pizza but this......
An Eco Child's Play Experiment: Lead in Backpacks?
2007-03-15 23:26:00 Given all the latest information about lead in children's lunchboxes, I became worried about my daughter's backpack. Her backpack, obviously bought by Grandma and adored by my daughter, is made by a very commercial company (Disney) that targets children through character promotion (princesses). Since it has some vinyl on it, I wondered if it also contained lead like certain vinyl lunchboxes. I bought this home lead test kit at our local hardware store (I laugh when I use the word local to describe a hardware store two hours away) to do our own experiment. The test kit is very easy to use. A few drops of water is applied to a pad, then the surface of the backpack is gently rubbed for a couple of minutes. The results: her backpack is lead-free. We are relieved by the results, but I do wonder if lead is present in other vinyl products designed for children.
