The Baltimore Ravens Supporting The Orioles
2008-04-21 20:31:00 Steve McNair, former Ravens QB threw out the first pitch on Friday night, and on Sunday new coach John Harbaugh did the same, and Rex Ryan caught it.It goes without saying, two the big sports teams in the Baltimore area should be supporting one another. For most right now, the Ravens are number one in fans' hearts despite a lackluster season, and perhaps they might help to give the Orioles a little shot in the arm in terms of PR and just general support. The Birds are established enough to do it on their own, but the help of an NFL team could only help, not hurt the franchise.

I was so stressed over the potential number of readers that I actually forgot which team picked next in my mock draft. My wife assures me that it?s the Baltimore Orioles. 5 Good Questions: Baltimore Ravens Edition
2007-12-14 20:29:00 It's time to once again hear from the opposition's point of view. This week, Rexx from Baltimore Beatdown joins us to answer my Raven-related questions. And as always, you can head on over to his site and see my responses to his Dolphin-related queries. I've been hearing that Brian Billick is likely to be back next season. Is this accurate? And if so, do you agree with the move to bring him back? Billick said he will be back earlier in the week and the owner, Steve Bisciotti confirmed it yesterday. Bisciotti said he doesn't hold Billick responsible, as he puts the blame on the overwhelming injuries and poor player performance (I thought the coach was responsible for this!). Unfortunately, Billick signed a four year $20 milllion extension after last season, and still has 3 years and $15 million left, so you can believe whatever reason you want. In my opinion, Billick has made so many poor calls in specific critical game conditions that I actually hold him ...

Thanks for a Reason to Care
2007-12-05 00:44:00 Last Monday's game between the Ravens and the Patriots was a great game. The Ravens did fall short (by about 2 yards) but they made me care. I'll be honest, aside from watching the Packers play every week I don't really care about the NFL regular season like I should. I just get sick of seeing the Patriots on every single Sunday and Monday night games, but if nothing else Monday's game made me care.I found myself sitting on my futon rooting for the Ravens to win. Which was weird because I thought that I didn't care. I realized that I don't really want the Patriots to go undefeated. I'm not sure why, but I just don't. However, I do really believe that they will go undefeated, although their best shot at a loss is going to be at home against the Steelers this weekend. As far as the game goes I admit, I only tuned in for the 4th quarter, but it was well worth my time. I was very impressed with Tom Brady. He was cool, calm, and collected and I really liked how he scrambled to pic...

Buffalo Bills vs. Baltimore Ravens: Open Game Thread
2007-10-21 15:14:00 vs Buffalo Bills (1-4) vs Baltimore Ravens (4-2) October 21, 2007 @ Ralph Wilson Stadium 1:00 PM ET, CBS BUF Injury Report :: BAL Injury Report Breaking Down the Ravens :: Baltimore Beat Down It's game day, Bills fans! When the Bills and Ravens kick off at The Ralph in 5 hours, you're going to want a place to discuss the game, right? Well, here it is - use this thread to discuss the events of the game, whoop when the Bills score, agonize when the Ravens put up points and curse out Steve Fairchild-Mularkey ("SF-M"). This is your thread today, so have at it! Here's what you can expect to see in this game: Bills on Offense: Memo to SF-M - a conservative game plan is going to get your Bills blown out, Coach. Baltimore is going to stuff the run, come out with some elaborate blitz packages and try to make rookie QB Trent Edwards beat them. That means 4-5 yard dump-offs and nothing beyond 10 yards won't get the job done. However, since I'm a realist, I'm expecting to ...
Breaking Down the Baltimore Ravens
2007-10-19 02:53:00 Willis McGahee returns to Buffalo (ViewImages) For the better part of a decade, the Baltimore Ravens have had one of the best defenses, year in and year out, in the NFL. Led annually by middle linebacker Ray Lewis, the unit's heart and soul, Baltimore's defense remains as explosive as they were when they carried the franchise to a Super Bowl victory. But unlike that year's Ravens, this year's version - the version the Bills square up against in just three short days - are not indomitable. There are huge question marks on offense, where the Ravens are averaging just over 18 points per game. The biggest questions are at quarterback, where backup Kyle Boller has replaced injured starter Steve McNair. This is a team to be reckoned with, but keep one stat in mind: of the Ravens' four wins this season (they're 4-2), three of them have come in Baltimore. Offense: Relying on Willis... Sort Of Don't Sleep on Boller: While McNair steadfastly remains the team's starter, B...

Analysis of Baltimore Ravens/Cleveland Browns & Chicago Bears/Detroit L
2007-10-04 20:12:00 The analysis of last week's Baltimore Ravens / Cleveland Browns game and the Chicago Bears / Detroit Lions one are next-up in my extended answers to the questions I posed on Sunday. Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns (+4): My befuddlement over the line proved well-placed as the Browns handily won this game. With QB Derek Anderson utilizing his offensive weapons, WR Braylon Edwards and TE Kellen Winslow, the Browns offense is too good to be home 'dogs to teams with lesser skills players. Fantasy implications: Receivers Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow are ready to be every-week starters at their respective positions. QB Derek Anderson at the top of the free agent pool QBs during the Bye Week Period. After their bye? Maybe not. Baltimore Defense? Sell high if you can. Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions (+3): The Bears have fallen. Losing a high-scoring game to the Lions tells me the Super Bowl run ends at one. QB Brian Griese did throw the ba...

I won the league, and Baltimore Defense was my 2nd highest scorer.Don't overlook the defense.

Baltimore Ravens Football Team Does Pilates
2007-04-14 19:11:00 According to Mike Duffy on the official Baltimore Ravens website, Pilates Presents Challenge For Ravens. That's right, these 300+ pound athletes are challenged by Pilates!"'I've never seen a Pilates class before, but that was tough,' said safety Dawan Landry. 'It really gets the blood flowing. I like it because it helps you with your flexibility and helps you avoid injuries. You have to look out for the tail end of your career while you're still young.'"Landry was joined by Kyle Boller, Dwan Edwards, Mike Kracalik, Derrick Martin, Evan Oglesby, David Pittman, Ronnie Prude, Brian Rimpf, B.J. Sams and Bart Scott, all of whom had a positive reaction to [Pilates teacher Megan] Rich's teachings." "'It's challenging because your weight works against you,' Rimpf noted. It concentrates on things you don't normally focus on, like your feet and stretching you...

2006-12-27 09:42:02 Ravens keep rolling, rout Steelers 31-7 NFL.com wire reportsPITTSBURGH (Dec. 24, 2006) -- Minutes after they ended the Pittsburgh Steelers' run as the Super Bowl champion, the Baltimore Ravens were ready to proclaim a new NFL title favorite -- themselves. Steve McNair, masterfully running an offense that was productive and efficient, threw three touchdown passes and Baltimore took a big step toward securing a first-round AFC playoffs bye with a 31-7 victory over the Steelers. The Ravens (12-3) matched a franchise record for victories in a season set by their Super Bowl championship team in 2000 and swept the series from the despised Steelers (7-8) for the first time since the former Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore in 1996. They also won in Heinz Field for the first time since their initial game there in 2001. "The satisfaction is what we're trying to accomplish, it's not about ending the Steelers' season," cornerback Chris McAlister said. The Ravens got some unexpected help... |
