Potus Pinwheel: Real Estate Blogs, Telling the Truth and Being Politically
2008-02-20 23:20:00 Sometimes 4 Heads are Better than One… or None! A few things stirred this one up. Presidents day was obvious, and that somewhat coincided with a recent post on our real estate social network by James Downing in Washington, DC, and the really cool trail of commentary that it spawned from numerous real estate agents all across the country. The question was this: is it a good idea to discuss politics on a real estate site? Most think not, and most of the time we agree. Except this time. (click "read the rest of this entry" below) Technorati Tags: South Lake Tahoe Real Estate, Stateline, NV, John McCain, Barack O’Bama, Hilary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, John Edwards POTUS, After all, other than a few national real estate reports, all of which are proclaimed by the media (who are not real estate professionals) as “bad news”, all we’re seeing and hearing these days is about politics. It’s a constant 24/7 media barrage of talking heads and ...
Sara Evans Dating Former Bama Quarterback
2008-02-05 03:20:00 Country star Sara Evans is dating former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker according to a friend of Evans. Evans went through a nasty divorce last year from Craig Schelske while competing on ‘Dancing With The Stars’. Evans turns 37 tomorrow and has three children with Schelske. A friend of the country singer confirms to PEOPLE that Evans and Jay Barker, a former football star at the University of Alabama who now hosts a sports radio show in Birmingham, are an item. “They are dating,” the friend tells PEOPLE. Barker was one of the most successful quarterbacks in Alabama history. He led the team to the 1992 National Championship. He has the highest winning percentage of any quarterback ever to play at Bama. His college record was 35-2-1. Nix you should be proud. That is about as good as a Bama graduate can do. He might finally make it into the Crimson Tide Hall of Fame now.

Nick Saban instructs the Bama faithful
2007-09-25 16:51:00 I've been a fan of the Crimson Tide my entire life.I love that school, and team. It represents me. It represents home. Many of you who do not share the same loyalty still understand the sentiment. When 'Bama lost to Georgia this weekend. It didn't bother me very much. The Tide was defeated by a simply better, deeper team. Mark Richt is a good coach, and we are rebuilding. Any other outcome would have been a great surprise. I'm still expecting a 7 or 8 win season at best. The only saddening event in my eyes was the reaction of a few idiots in the endzone who decided to pelt the celebrating Georgia players.I have seen that happen from many different fans, in many different stadiums, but it does not make it right. After the game, Coach Saban addressed the issue indirectly:"One other thing that I'd like to touch on is that I think class is a real critical part of any organization. It's a word that I see, that comes up on our board when we do some of our traditional stuff here as a p...

Kitty's Milkshake Brings All the Bears to the Yard
2007-07-20 18:56:00 Last Saturday night, Mr. E, who will be called so to mask his real name, rings a Kitty on the telly."Hey Kitty! What's shakin? What are you and Bama gonna do tonight? Auburn's out of town, right?""Yep, E. We'll prolly watch a movie or something.""Wanna go to JJ's with me and Jimmylicious?" says E.:: crickets chirp :: JJ's is a leather/bear bar.to the side, hand covering phone, "Bama, you wanna go check out some sweaty beary men with manstank?""Sure. Alright. You gotta pretend to be my boy-frien tho" says Bama."Aight, E. We're in. We'll be at your house at 10."So Kitty decides what to wear. After ironing two shirts, Kitty comes to his senses and throws on jeans, a tshirt, his hot red Pumas, and a ballcap. Bears like minimal, and Kitty likes to please. We get to JJ's (after unabashedly being called a faggot by one of E's neighbors - a 12 year old with a mullet that looked like a butch bull dyke) and Kitty knew he was going to LOVE the place.Doorman to Kitty: Can I see your ID?...

Friday Night Smackdown
2007-07-06 17:53:00 Friday night was trouble.YellowFever called a Kitty and said, "Let's meet and have a glass or two of wine." Kitty, having a mad straight-crush on Yellow and having known and adored her since high school, gladly obliged. Throughout the evening, we were joined by Cockbag, Jimmylicious, Auburn, Bama, and Yellow's uberhot fiancee who we will call IcyBlues.Nearly 15 bottles of Alamos Chardonnay (try it, its cheap, and you will LOVE it) later, the entire group was feeling great. Yellow and a Kitty began at 6 pm and our party closed Brennan's down at 1:30. It was a tag team event, and although team Yellow/Kitty fought valiantly, team Booze gets the championship belt.Fuck that hurt the next day.

Barack Obama: Candidate Kumbaya
2007-05-15 06:30:00 Obama's Kumbaya Source: http://www.taylormarsh.com/arch-ives_view.php?id=25580It wasn't nearly as contentious as the Edwards interview. No Republican talkingpoints from George Stephanopoulos yesterday, you know, like when he accusedEdwards of abandoning the troops with this beauty: "Do you think theDemocrats should be saddled with the idea of completely cutting off fundingfor the troops?" Or this one: "You know, a lot of Democratsstill in the Senate think that your position here is cynical political theater."This week, George and Barack had just a nice, polite littlechat. Likely because Edwards is more of a fire breather when it comes to gettingout of Iraq. Obama is not. He is also not an ideologue, which is an understatementwith frightening ramifications."I think that I have the capacity to get people to recognize themselvesin each other. I think that I have the ability to make people get beyond someof the divisions that plague our society and to focus on common sense andreason an...

Sen. Barack Obama Appearance on ABC's "This Week": Tax Cuts; Social Securit
2007-05-14 12:45:00 Sen. Barack Obama received some air time this past week on ABC's "This Week." As usual, the Sunday format interview shows cover a wide range of issues.Taxes? Sen. Obama would have no problem rolling back a President Bush-endorsed tax cut for America's wealthiest, in order to alleviate our health care costs.Social Security? Even Sen. Obama recognizes how important it is to salvage and protect our nation's soclal security program and would be comfortable "overhauling" the program, if it was necessary in order to protect the program. Sen. Obama indicated if raising the eligibility age and payroll taxes are necessary, then so be it, but he is absolutely against privatizing the program.Secret Service? No immediate threats were mentioned, although he did admit that the recent developments of receiving a secret service detail were due to racially-motivated situations.Affirmative Action? No longer necessary and should gradually be "diminished." ?I t...

Sen. Barack Obama Commencement Address at Southern New Hampshire University
2007-05-11 22:29:00 Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., will serve as speaker and will receive an honorary degree at Southern New Hampshire University?s Commencement. The ceremony for undergraduate and graduate students is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the Verizon Wireless Arena; doors open at 10 a.m. This event is not open to the public; tickets will be required for graduates and their guests. An announcement about the ticket process is expected in April. ?Sen. Obama delivers a message of hope, healing the divides that separate us. Obama was elected a U.S. senator in 2004 and served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997 to 2004. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Aug. 4, 1961, Obama earned a bachelor?s degree from Columbia University in 1983 and a law degree from Harvard University in 1991. Obama provided members with some rather bold words to demonstrate his frustration with the scheduling decision to not attend, while other Democratic candidates will be. Sen. Barack Obama Gaffe on Greensburg, KS: So What?!!?
2007-05-10 13:10:00 Honestly, I didn't think this was going to be a big deal. I really didn't.During an earlier campaign stop, Sen. Barack Obama took a moment to address the recent tornado that destroyed Greensburg, KS. While speaking of the deadly natural disaster, Sen. Obama stated that over 10,000 people had died.Sen. Obama soon realized his inaccurate statement and restated his words indicating that 10 people had died, not the 10,000 as initially stated. Before the end of yesterday's workday, I received two emails and listened to several co-workers make such a mockery out of Sen. Obama because of his gaffe. They attacked his credability on "citing facts," polarizing Americans by turning a devastating tornado into a political issue and charged his tiredness this early in the campaign as a negative forecaster of his ability to lead the country. Are you kidding me?!!?Sen. Obama did inaccurately provide the death toll number. The fact is, whether 10 or 10,000 died...i...

Barack Obama Racist Comments
2007-05-10 05:02:00 Unfortunately, the CBS News website has discontinued allowing public comments concerning presidential candidate Barack Obama because so many of them have turned out to be racist. Mike Sims, director of news and operations for CBSNews.com said that that the website has often deleted any racist comments about Obama, however, due to "the volume and the persistence" of them, it has made it difficult to manage. As an African American, I'm not surprised by this. I can only imagine how many death threats many successful minorities receive. Disappointed in Sen. Barack Obama Kansas City Campaign Stop
2007-05-09 12:34:00 Let me begin by saying that I really have tried to make sure that I'm not being bitter, or jealous. But I can't help but be disappointed after I personally contacted the Sen. Barack Obama campaign team to request a campaign visit to Kansas City. I invited Sen. Obama to attend Rosedale Middle School, or a larger Kansas City, KS school venue, to praise teachers/school districts on their efforts in educating all students, as mandated by No Child Left Behind. It also provides a great opportunity to speak to our younger generation of present, or quick-to-be new voters, which already have such great support for Sen. Obama. It would also provide a great backdrop in a lower-socioeconomic, working neighborhood of such a diverse community--white, black, Mexican, Bosnian etc. Throw in there the fact that he can jump the state line and be in Missouri in less than two blocks, and now he can tackle visiting two states in one trip. (Missouri generally is ...

Clinton back on top of Obama
2007-05-08 02:42:00 Is this good news for Republicans. The conventional con wisdom thinks Hillary is the easiest candidate to beat. And I understand that theory; she's transparently phony, makes contradictory policy statements, and reminds more than a few, I imagine, of their own witchy boss. Still too early. Sen. Barack Obama and Walk for Change: June 9, 2007
2007-05-08 01:03:00 For too many people, politics is a bad word. It's not surprising since for many people "politics" means talking heads screaming at each other on TV, or special interests stacking the deck in Washington. We have an opportunity to change that. When politics gets local, when the person talking is your neighbor standing on your front porch, things change. On June 9th, hundreds of thousands of people will have that experience as we take our campaign to the streets in all 50 states for a nationwide neighborhood walk. We're calling it Walk for Change, and its success depends on you. I'm asking you for something extraordinary. I'm asking you to lead a group of supporters in your community in a neighborhood walk to let people know about our campaign. If you agree to organize a walk, we'll mail you the materials you need to start a conversation with your neighbors about being part of this movement for change. But it can only happen if you're willing to take the leap and put together a J...

Racist Comments Force CBS To Close Comments On Obama Articles
2007-05-06 13:20:00 Via CBSNews.com : Today CBSNews.com informed its staff via email that they should no longer enable comments on stories about presidential candidate Barack Obama. The reason for the new policy, according to the email, is that stories about Obama have been attracting too many racist comments. "It's very simple," Mike Sims, director of News and Operations for CBSNews.com, told me. "We have our Rules of Engagement. They prohibit personal attacks, especially racist attacks. Stories about Obama have been problematic, and we won't tolerate it." CBSNews.com does sometimes delete comments on an individual basis, but Sims said that was not sufficient in the case of Obama stories due to "the volume and the persistence" of the objectionable comments. Read more? This might explain why Obama requested Secret Service protection this early in the campaign. Sadly, this is what you get when racists and bigots are given credibilityairtime on a national platform who are joined by ...

2007-05-06 10:10:00 ~ Oh no, not again!! PETA sure "pans" my desire for meat with these gory advertisements. After seeing these images, I may have a tough(er) time eating meat forever more.
