I used the same recipe and added some blended cereal. I had some Kelloggs All-Bran bran buds on the pantry shelf. These little cereal pellets are high in fiber and vitamins. I rarely eat it on its own because it's a bit too bland. It has an interesting texture because they are bran buds and not flakes. I normally mix some in about one-third cup with my cereal or sprinkle it over yogurt. I poured a cup of All-Bran ran buds into a mini food processors and blended it. After making the oatmeal bar mixture, I slowly mixed in the blended bran buds until it reached a nice consistency.I poured it into a baking pan and tossed it in the oven at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. I try to stick to ones that are in the range of 90-180 calories each package, that don't taste like candy bars. Nature Valley granola bars are great. I love Rice Krispies treats, but I prefer to make those at home, since I find the packaged ones a bit too sweet and not crispy enough. Special K strawberry cereal bars are good. Kashi makes good granola bars that have a few grams of fiber and a few grams of protein. I recently tried All-bran fiber bars and I liked those too.
