Basic Training: HTML

<TAG> You may need it </TAG> If you plan on using Quick Blogcast, you'll need to learn the tag game. HTML deals a lot with tags and you wont be able to live without it. Simple knowledge is a must, even though most blog and website hosts provide "easy to use" graphical website creation tools that do it all. (Including Quick Blogcast). Understanding these small concepts of HTML coding will help considerably when troubleshooting why these "do it all" and "easy to use" software assistants go astray. I'm finding that the general cause of any error or buggy situation is due to unnecessary tags inserted by the software as you add, delete, edit your blog.Tags are a set of open and close snippets enclosed in "<>" . The open is simply "<>" and the close contains an extra "/" or "</>" meaning the end of the snippet. An example set of tags to make a set of letters bold: <b></b>. Any text in between this tag will be displayed bold.Basic Text formats:B...
Basic Training for Golden Retrievers
2008-02-16 01:44:00
Starting your Golden Retriever early is the key to good obedience training. Golden Retriever puppies may be started into a training session on the very first day that you bring him home. The later you wait to start with the training process, the harder it will be for your puppy to learn.Always call your puppy by the same name. Golden Retrievers can understand tones better than words, and using any name other than his will likely confuse him. This will be your puppies first lesson. You will be amazed at how fast he learns what his name is.Your Golden Retriever?s next lesson will be to walk properly on a leash. Always be consistent when walking your new pet. He should be taught to walk on your left side, close to your leg, but not under your feet. This will take work, so remember to be patient. Reaffirm your dog with kind words if he doesn?t cooperate at first and give him a gentle tug, if necessary. The lesson of ?NO? will be learned as your puppy explores his new home. Wh...

The Usefulness Of The Internet
2007-08-02 21:27:00
I have started cleaning out bookshelves.. It was a sad day for me, for anytime I sell a book, I cry. Pathetic, I know... But, I want to take a trip to San Antonio to visit the kids (it's their year with dad) before I head off to Basic training for the Army National Guard, so, you do what has to be done... Sometimes, I wish we lived in a society where our lives don't revolve around money, just using trade as our means of living, but those days are long past.... (I truly belong in another time and place...lol)That is one good thing the internet is for, helping you place your items in others hands. My new project? Using Amazon to help earn the money. For years I was addicted to EBay, I still like the site, but I don't much care for Paypal. So, when I started shopping on Amazon and noticed their auctions and storefronts, I was a happy camper.I have posted the links to my storefront, browse if you feel like it....I'm going to go have another good cry...:)">View blog reactions
Shark Attack
2007-05-27 15:02:00
Throughout the course of my Basic Training, there will several members of the cadre who were taking pictures of the various events that took place. We were unable to see these pictures during our trip through basic. Now, however, they are posted on the internet and I have been able to browse through them. The picture attached to this blog is a photo of me on my first day at basic. They drove us in on busses and had us load our duffle bags on the front of us. We then took our laundry back and had to hold it above our heads. It was an annoying task. The Drill Sargeants ran back and forth screaming at us. One by one they would call our names and assign us to the platoon that we would be in. They would stop us all and "smoke" us (make us do pushups and stuff) and then they would tell us to load our stuff back up. This event is called "shark attack." It was a unique experience. I am excited that there is a picture of me in this event! You can see that I just dropped my belongi...
Basic Training for your Cat
2006-12-02 15:27:06
This is for all of us who would be happy if our cats would just use the litter box instead of our comforter, closet or shoes. This is for owners who would like their cat to use a scratching post instead of the stereo speakers. If you're like me, you admire your cat for being a cat and you want him to behave as nothing other than a cat, but a well-behaved one. Before we can train or teach our cats to do something or to stop doing something, we need to look at how cats learn. They don't understand English, they can't read books or attend lectures. They learn by experience. If the experience is good, they will try to repeat it. If the experience is unpleasant, they will try to avoid it in the future. They enjoy raking the furniture with their claws, so they continue to do it. But it's quite a shock when they stick their nose in a candle flame, so they won't do that again. The key to training is to make sure that whatever you want your cat to do is exceedingly rewarding and pleasurable....
