2008-03-06 19:54:00 Earlier this week, someone wrecked my car in front of my house. It's a goner and I have to drive around in a rental. I can't give any more details than that until this whole issue is settled. I've resisted the temptation to post in detail about it because it is one juicy story.I did watch the Project Runway Finale last night and I'll post on it later. Chris has a fun election parody of the last few minutes.This Tuesday, Bauhaus released a reunion album - the first one of original material in 23 years. Peter Murphy returns to some spookiness with the Love and Rockets guys and they all claim it's a "Final Solution"* for them. Who knows. They'll probably milk a whole new generation of goth kids and record a few more albums. It's a fun listen, though.Back to commuting back and forth in the rental.*Peter Murphy's cover version of the Pere Ubu classic.

Bauhaus se formaron en el 78 y se separaron en el 83 , despues se juntaron otro rato en el 98 y despues hasta el 2005 donde ya volvieron a grabar otra ves. La verdad es bueno el disco. 2007-12-04 22:19:00 Legendary early Goth band Bauhaus is set to release their first new album in almost twenty-five years. Going Away White will hit iTunes and CD on March 4...and that will be the end.The group reformed in 2005 at the Coachella Festival and ended up getting along well enough to tour the world. They then entered the studio last year to record the music that became Going Away White.Unfortunately, the reunion did not stay amicable. Drummer Kevin Haskins told Billboard, "We were getting along really well, but there was an incident that occurred. Some of us just felt that we didn't want to carry on as a working unit."Haskins says the group is happy with the finished album. "Now, there's a little bit of an empty feeling because we can't tour with it. All the same, it's something we're very proud of, and we feel a lot of people will be interested to hear it."

2007-05-01 12:07:00 UN MITO DE LA ARQUITECTURA MODERNA..Si existe un nombre mítico en lo que al estudio de la arquitectura moderna hace referencia, entonces ese nombre es el de Bauhaus, la casa de la construcción. Una decidida apuesta por la renovación no sólo de la arquitectura, sino de las artes en general. La institución fue creada en la ciudad de Weimar (Alemania) en 1919 y se mantuvo abierta hasta su clausura por Hitler en 1933.Desde su creación y hasta 1928 la Bauhaus estuvo dirigida por el alemán Walter Gropius (1883-1969), miembro de una larga saga familiar de arquitectos. Él fue el responsable del traslado de la institución a la ciudad de Dassau y el autor del famoso edificio que le sirvió de sede en esa ciudad. 2007-04-05 20:14:00 I was recently contacted by an artist named Max Eternity who complimented me on my glassware and paintings, and I was quite intrigued by his paintings as well, though I must admit that I like the work from his General Collections more than his "Man of Mystery" series... but I think that is a aesthetic judgement call on my part. I just tend to like works with a less representational quality, too me those provide much more mystery to the viewer. The works from his General Collection - Portfolio 1 & Portfolio 2 remind me of some of my earlier paintings and digital explorations as well as the works of my father (some of which I will be putting online very soon for your enjoyment). Max has also taken the now unusual step of trying to start his own Art movement called Bauhaus Evolution, as an offshoot of the Bauhaus and Abstract movements of the early 1900's. I have not decided wether I will join up yet (because of my overt hermit like tendencies), but I give him props for the effort...
