Beerfest at River Flicks
2007-08-15 16:00:00 On top of getting to watch movies outside on beautiful summer nights on the Hudson River, the other thing I like about River Flicks is every year they pick a central theme for their screenings. This years theme is "films with characters who overcome in surmountable odds to prove that they are right and the rest of the world is wrong." Tonight's film is one of great controversy among the FreeNYC family, as some of us love Beerfest and some of us (aka ME) do not! You'll have to judge for yourself! Seating is first come, first served, and as always the popcorn is free! Read More...Digg this | Email to a friend | Reddit

BeerFest -- Fun to watch if you're drunk
2007-07-07 21:21:00 There are movies that I would rather borrow from someone than buy an original DVD copy of. And it includes BeerFest, a Rated R comedy that has forgetable characters, hilarious script without hitting it right, and over exposure of breasts that make you beg for it to stop. Beerfest, although was produced by a small production outfit responsible in creating the successful comedy/horror flick, "Club Dread," falls short from its predecessors. If you want would want to at least not get bored watching it, get yourself drunk before you hit play on the DVD remote control. read more

Colbert Bashes Beerfest
2006-12-02 20:37:02 Stephen decided to take a cheap shot at Beerfest during his "The Word" segment. He was in the middle of doing a hysterical social commentary about the fact that people who purchased James Frey's "A Million Little Pieces" prior to learning that he had lied in the book are able to get a full refund from the publisher - something that Stephen calls rediculous. He mocks the buyers of the book by saying that they should be more careful when they purchase things. He used Beerfest as an example by stating that people were fooled into seeing the movie by watching the trailer.A very funny segment as always! |
