Bears get chewed up and spit out by Bengals
2009-10-26 03:54:00 Talk about road kill! Carson Palmer picked the Bears clean before being given the rest of the day off. He was in the game for Cincinnati's first 7 possessions. The Bengals scored on every one. They had 6 touchdowns ( Palmer passed for 5 of them) and a field goal. If it had been a fight, the ref would have stopped it in the second round. It was 31-0 before the Bears managed a last-second field goal to end the first half. It wound up at 45-10. Rarely has a Bear defense looked so bad. Cedric Benson went through them and around them for a career-high 189 yards. The pass defense was almost non-existent. Palmer's first 3 touchdown passes were...
Hard Knocks Life: Bengals Humble Bears
2009-10-26 02:34:00 A complete train wreck. Is there any other way to describe what was supposed to be a football game between the Bears and Bengals on Sunday? The stars of HBO's latest edition of Hard Knocks series put a beating of epic proportions on the Modest of the Midway. On the day when the Patriots and Tampa Bay Bucs squared off in the NFL's annual trip to London, it's good this games wasn't played overseas. It would be hard explaining to a football newbie what that was, because it sure as hell didn't resemble football.Nothing went right for the Bears as they bowed to the Bengals 45-10. If there was any consistency in that game for the Bears, it was that...

Bears at Bengals: Prediction Time
2009-10-22 14:24:00 In past years it would have been a little tough trying to get excited about playing Cincinnati this Sunday but three things have conspired to perhap smake this game quite memorable. A. Chad Ochocinco is insane: (Bears Game Day, No Spain, No Gain, Jay Cutler Superstar, The Rock Report) B. Cedric Benson is resurrected: (Da' Bears Blog) C. The 4-2 Bengals have a better record than the 3-2 Bears: (The Professor) A few weeks ago a loss to the Bengals would have been unthinkable, now it's a tough road game against a surprising opponent. Reminds me of last year's regular-season finale against Houston that cost the Bears a playoff berth. Glad to see The Professor is going with the Bears and, as always,...

NFL Game Center: Game Recap - Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts - 20
2008-12-08 09:21:00 NFL Game Center: Game Recap - Cincinnati Bengals at Indianapolis Colts - 2008 14: ?INDIANAPOLIS -- Colts cornerback Kelvin Hayden had a perfect read on the Cincinnati Bengals.Peyton Manning apparently was doing his homework, too.Manning threw for three scores Sunday and Hayden returned an interception for a touchdown, leading the Colts to their most lopsided win of the season, 35-3.?
Packers vs. Bengals: thoughts
2008-08-12 16:26:00 Here are some off-the-cuff, knee jerk reactions to the Green Bay Packers' performance against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Footbal that might not have registered on everyone's radar screen:Thumbs up:Aaron Rouse -- Another interception proved why Rouse needs to be in the starting lineup. The team might go through a couple headaches as Rouse gets used to defending against complex NFL offenses, but his knack for generating turnovers offsets any negatives he might have. Three interceptions last season combined with one last night and one in the team's preseason scrimmage prove that he can help the team. At least Nick Collins can be the most reliable backup safety in the league.Jason Hunter -- Hunter led the team in sacks last night and was second on the team in tackles. While not spectacular, he just showed he was very active and is probably worth keeping around another season as a backup defensive lineman and key special teams contributor. He may even get snaps that KGB do...
Packers vs. Bengals: What to Watch For
2008-08-11 00:22:00 Everyone and their brother are sure as heck going to be scrutinizing every move Aaron Rodgers makes down to how he receives the snap from center. And then they'll be analyzing how Brian Brohm hands off to the running backs. Here at Railbird Central, we'll give you five non-quarterback things to look for on Monday Night Football's Green Bay Packers vs. Cincinnati Bengals game:Defensive tackle depth -- With injuries nagging Ryan Pickett, Johnny Jolly, Justin Harrell and Daniel Muir, there's not a whole heck of a lot of options left at the defensive tackle position. Expected to join Colin Cole in the starting lineup at the position is usual starting defensive end Cullen Jenkins. Will those two be able to hold up against the run? And can they keep the interior offensive linemen off the linebackers? Once they come out, reserve tackles Alfred Malone and Conrad Boston stand to see perhaps the most playing time on the entire team due to having such a depleted unit. The offensive line shu...

Former Cincinnati Bengals' Chris Henry, Guilty Or Misunderstood?
2008-04-05 01:44:00 One false rape allegation by a prostitute/murderess: check. A Northern Kentucky prosecutor who implied Chris Henry's guilt in the media before a case was built: check. Getting his shoes searched for speeding: check. Getting pulled over, then arrested for a faulty breathalyzer test: check. A laundry list of unfounded allegations: check. Having them all reported to his employer: that really sucks. Chris Henry was relieved of his position as Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver by the NFL yesterday after his fifth arrest in a period of three years.
Bengals to Henry: YOU'RE FIRED!
2008-04-04 12:59:00 The Cincinnati Bengals did some housekeeping today. Bengals WR Chad Johnson will NEVER EVER dawn a Buccaneers Jersey
2008-03-20 02:45:00 We've talked alot about the Bucs and pursuing Wide Receivers via trade this off-season. A month ago, Bengals WR Chad Johnson was the one Receiver Bucs Fans who frequented Buc 'Em wanted to see in Red -n- Pewter. We can all forget that day dream, there is NO WAY the Bucs would bring Ocho Cinco aka "Show me the Money" to Tampa. On the set of NFL Network's Total Access Tuesday, Chad had the following to say when asked about wanting more money: "I don't want no money," Johnson said. "Wait a minute, stop 85. It's always about the money. This is a business. You play this game for a reason, because it's about the money. We fill those stands for those owners because it's about the money. Chad Johnson to Remain A Cincinnati Bengals Receiver - ESPN

Here's the rest from ESPN.. Bengals coach Marvin Lewis is standing firm: Chad Johnson is staying in Cincinnati.Lewis said Wednesday that the team will not trade the disgruntled wide receiver and has never discussed it, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer and the team's Web site."They can stop the presses, quit killing trees and move on to other things," Lewis said, defending Johnson despite the wide receiver's critical comments about the team. "There is, at no point, anyone in the Bengals organization who has ever uttered anything about trading Chad Johnson. Nor will he be traded."On Tuesday, The Washington Post reported that acquiring Johnson is the Washington Redskins' top offseason priority, as team owner Daniel Sny...

Bengals, Raiders limit Dolphin's chances of trading #1 pick
2008-02-14 06:07:00 In a recent post on God Loves The Gators, I came up with a few scenarios for the Miami Dolphins to trade the #1 pick in this year's draft. Two recent news items seem to rule out some of those scenarios. On Wednesday, Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis reiterated that the Bengals will not be trading WR Chad Johnson. Whether or not the Bengals change their mind, the recent comments cause one to doubt the Johnson to Miami scenario will occur.Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting that the Raiders have re-signed RB Justin Fargas to a three year deal after the back had a career season. This would seem to rule out the Raiders as a candidate to trade up for Arkansas RB Darren McFadden. It's far too early to tell what is going to happen with the #1 pick, as the draft is still more than two months away. Stay tuned to God Loves The Gators, as I will have plenty of draft coverage leading up to April. On a side note, I will be participating in a live mock draft on MyMockDraft.com. I will ...
