2008-03-16 21:45:00 S aturday evening was such a beautiful opportunity to take a motorcycle ride, I couldn't resist. I headed south down US19 toward St. Petersburg. Mid 70's temps and a nice breeze out of the Southwest made it a wonderful evening for a ride. Traffic was lite for a Saturday evening and moved well. Once I arrived at Biff-Burger I found it was the 11th Annual Bike Night Celebration, and the lot was packed with Bikes, Vendors and Riders that extended into the lot behind Biff-Burger. Loads of Custom Built bikes on display around the lot. The Odd Rat Bike here and there provided some comic relief among the serious builders. I can't stop listening to this British (boy) band that plays catchy pop-punk-ish tunes, as well as songs that are throwbacks to groovy 60s pop. They hold certain distinctions?impressive and dubious?including their appearance in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the youngest band to ever debut an album at number one on the U.K. charts (for Room on the Third Floor in 2004) and the fact that their drummer dated Lindsay Lohan. Wednesday Evening Ride to Biff Burger Bike Night
2007-09-06 15:37:00 I took a ride South to Biff-Burger in St. Pete last evening as the Sun was setting over the gulf. The Radar on the GPS indicated very strong thunderstorms over the mouth of Tampa Bay with intense lightning; it was however moving to the West and 20 miles or more South of my destination. The out rush of cool air from the storms created perfect riding temps. Lots of bikes and the standard vendors were on hand for the evening. The owner of this new Connie X-14 was busy showing off his new ride to onlookers most of the night. Here are the storms I mentioned above. This Norton was beautifully restored and looking sharp. The Vendors were all setup early to take full advantage of the evening's traffic. There were a few thunderstorms building to the South and moving east and the cool air from the out-rush felt great. This evenings ride to Biff-Burger found me riding in virtually no traffic on US19 Southbound.This is almost unheard of! A pretty good turnout for a night threatening rain, and as always there were vendors onsite to fill that niche be it eyewear, leathers, jewelry or oils of the petroleum and snake varieties. A little further around the lot from the Riding Armor is the tent for Spiritual Armor. Biff-Burger reserves Saturday as well as Wednesday nights for Bike Nights every week of the year and the parking lot that surrounds the building will fill up with bikes from every manufacturer.
