2007-08-04 17:24:00 Big Shug: Street ChampFrequent Gang Starr guest, Big Shug releases his second studio album.Big Shug's style is raw street lyrics which are all too popular nowadays. The unfortunate part is many people may confuse him as just another newbie in the game who is talking loud but saying nothing. Big Shug has been doing this style since the mid-90s when he started guesting on Gang Starr tracks.The real strength on Street Champ is the production. Producers Moss and DJ Premier make incredible beats for Shug to rap over.The other major strength of the album are the guest appearances. Sean Price, Termanology, Singapore Kane, Ea$y Money, Dre Robinson, and Big Twins all lay down killer verses on the album often times showing up Big Shug on his own album.Overall, I'd say with the current climate of hip hop Street Champ is nothing we haven't heard before.
