2007-11-08 05:25:00 The Country Music Association gave out their awards tonight in Nashville to a mix of classic and new artists.Heading up the classic artist rosters was George Strait who took home Album of the Year for It Just Comes Natural. As he gets the award as artist and producer, it makes it his fifth and sixth wins in the album category. Overall, Strait has 18 wins on 70 nominations.Song of the Year went to Give It Away (also recorded by Strait), written by Bill Anderson, Buddy Cannon and Jamey Johnson. Anderson has been creating hits since the late-50's but has only been taking home the CMA award since 2001 (this is his third). His first nomination was back in 1967 for Entertainer of the Year.Finally, Jerry Douglas, who first recorded back in the late-70's but is now better known as a member of Alison Krauss and Union Station, took home Musician of the Year.
