Obama To Cash In On Superdelegate Bank
2008-06-02 22:47:00 There’s been talk that Obama has a “delegate bank” ready to release this week to put him over the top. Matthew Yglesias has made the point that if he had such a bank it would be better to have them commit before tomorrow’s primaries. He argues that, “on a symbolic plane it seems to me ...

Carville SLAMS Same NY Times Editorial Board Which Endorsed Clinton
2008-04-25 06:11:00 Clinton supporter and CNN commentator James Carville is known for saying what's on his mind, regardless of the results. Recently he called New Mexico Governor and former presidential candidate Bill Richardson "Judas" for endorsing Barack Obama. But in this exchange with the same Governor Richardson this week on "Larry King Live", Carville stuck his foot in his mouth big time, when he said that the NY Times Editorial Board -- the same one that endorsed Senator Clinton for president -- didn't know politics. Richardson didn't see the opening to call Carville on it, but I did. That was wreckless and certainly shows to what degree the Clinton supporters will go in expressing their anger for any perceived slight. So much so that people and groups once seen as allies are quickly painted as enemies whenever it suits them. If Carville's the poster child for Clinton negativity, he's also the picture of a page in the clipbook of Clinton's failed campaign strategy.

Gov Bill Richardson v. James Carville A Warning To Superdelegates
2008-04-02 06:58:00 Gov. Bill Richardson v. James Carville A Warning To Superdelegates In a timely op-ed in the Monday Washington Post, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson reveals that is call to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to report that he'd endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President was "heated" but did not give more details. Richardson was writing to report his displeasure with the "personal" attacks Clinton supporter and CNN Commentator James Carville has exacted on him after Richardson endorsed Obama. In words he did not back away from, Carville compared Richardson to Judas for the act of backing Obama. But in his op-ed, Richardson hit a home-run of a point: neither the Clintons nor their backers and supporters leveled such attacks on Richardson when he opposed Sen. Clinton in the Presidential campaign race. In all, in my view, this episode has revealed the worst aspects of the Clinton campaign. While Carville says it's personal because of the jobs Richardson had done for President C...

Graceless James Carville Wants to "Brand" Bill Richardson for Obama Endorse
2008-03-25 20:53:00 I just saw James Carville on MSNBC refuse to apologize for calling Bill Richardson a "Judas" for Richardson's endorsement of Barack Obama. Far worse than not apologizing, Carville offered that he wanted to "brand" Richardson for this act of betrayal, so that everyone would know Richardson by that act.Actually, Richardson's endorsement of Obama was an act of outright courage - an act of standing up for what Richardson thinks is good and right for the country. What does Carville hope to accomplish by his "branding"? Frighten or caution other super delegates, who may be thinking of moving from support of Hillary Clinton to Barack Obama? Not likely to happen.Indeed, the only lasting effect of Carville's graceless attack on Bill Richardson is that it will long be remembered as an example of just how low gutter-sniping campaigns, politics by intimidation, can go.I know I certainly will plan on using Carville's remarks as an example of propaganda at its worst in the graduate course i...

Are you saying that he made a deal of some kind when you talk about 30 shekels?"Carville: "I thought this one was special and it needed to be properly branded... I don't regret it... New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson Endorses Obama
2008-03-22 04:48:00 Bill Richardson, the nation's only Hispanic governor, backed Barack Obama for president Friday, moved to deliver his much-coveted endorsement by the senator's speech about race. The New Mexico governor joined Obama at spirited rally Friday and said the Illinois senator demonstrated his leadership abilities this week with his speech on race. "You are a once-in-a-lifetime leader," the governor said from the stage. "Above all, you will be a president who brings this nation together." Richardson dropped his own bid for the nomination in January. His support for Obama comes during a tough period for the senator. Although he still leads Hillary Rodham Clinton in delegates, Obama has seen his lead in national polls wither in the fallout from divisive remarks by his former pastor. Richardson was relentlessly courted by both candidates and his support for Obama provides him a potential counterweight to Clinton's strength among Hispanic voters. It wasn't the first time racial concerns...
Richardson Endorses Obama: Clinton Camp Gets Jealous
2008-03-22 04:12:00 On Friday, Barack Obama received a huge boost with Bill Richardson endorsing his campaign. Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico was a former Democratic presidential candidate and the nation?s only Hispanic governor. Richardson withdrew from the presidential race in January and his endorsement has been highly sought after since then. Former President Bill Clinton spent time watching the Super Bowl with Bill Richardson at his residence in Santa Fe. Obama finished off this week strong. Obama?s speech on race was extremely successful in polling data, showing he will come out of this bad situation looking like a strong leader. Michigan and Florida are not going to hold redo elections. This is good for Obama and leaves Senator Clinton basically no chance of winning the nomination. The endorsement from Bill Richardson caps off a rough but overall successful week for Obama. On ?Countdown? with Keith Olbermann, Bill Richardson said he waited until now to ma...

Super Tuesday
2008-02-06 14:16:00 Yesterday was what is referred to as Super Tuesday in the United States. 21 states held elections to help determine the nominees for both the republicans and democratics. John McCain was the big winner on the republican side winning delegate rich states including New York, California and New Jersey. He now has 516 of the 1,191 delegates needed to win the republican nomination according to msnbc.com. Polls had showed that Romney had overtaken McCain in California but when it was all said and done, it was McCain that won the biggest prize which happened to be winner take all. Romney says he's not dropping out but his chances are very slim right now. If he had won California and won those 170 delegates then it would be a much different story right now but that loss was huge and I think it's sealed his fate.Mike Huckabee was the surprise of Super Tuesday. It started when he won West Virginia in what Mitt Romney called a backroom deal between Huckabee and John McCain. Regardless of ho...
