2007-10-26 07:19:00 So, we've been off the road for about a month now. I was just doing some thinking about what we did over the past 16 months and it's really crazy. We played in over 20 countries in front of about 1.5 million people. We started on April 3rd of 2006 and ended on September 7th of 2007. In the total of 522 days of touring we played 175 shows. That works out to a show every three days!! It's been great meeting as many people as we could at the shows and we're sorry if we couldn't meet you this time. I'd also like to let you know how successful the MS Society of Canada Scholarship Program supported by Billy Talent and friends is. We raised just under $100,000.00 in it?s first year and we were able to give out 61 scholarships this year. 2007-09-05 20:38:00 Today I want to acknowledge one of my favourite bands of recent years, Billy Talent.Billy Talent (who were formerly known as Pezz) are a Canadian Punk Rock band who have been around since forming in 1993. The members are Benjamin Kowalewicz (Vocals), Ian D'Sa (Guitar/Vocals), Jonathan Gallant (Bass/Vocals), and Aaron Solowoniuk (Drums). The band were known as Pezz up until 2001, when due to legality issues they decided to change their name to Billy Talent. As Pezz, the band released an album titled "Watoosh!" (1998). This album was popular for the band in their hometown of Toronto, however it did not achieve the level of commercial success the band would enjoy from 2001 onwards with the change of name to Billy Talent. After releasing an E.P entitled "Try Honestly" (2001), the band went on to record and release their debut self-titled album in 2003. Tickets purchased for the Alderney Landing show can be exchanged at the Ticket Atlantic box office (at the Halifax Metro Centre) on Tuesday, Aug. 14 and Wednesday Aug. 15 for premium Metro Centre seating. Any exchanges following Aug. 15 must happen at the Ticket Atlantic box office (at the Halifax Metro Centre) and will be on a first come, first serve basis.Tickets for the Metro Centre show are $39.50 (including tax, plus surcharge) for floor and lower bowl seating and $27.50 (including tax, plus surcharge) for upper bowl seating.
