2011-01-21 17:52:00
Birmingham travel to Old Trafford on Saturday looking to become the first team to beat Manchester United in the league this season. Man United are unbeaten in their last 24 matches in all competitions against Birmingham, the last time was a 5-1 loss at St Andrews on the 11th November 1978. There have been a total of 101 games played between the two clubs in all competitions. Out of the 101 matches, Man United have won 47 times, lost 25 times and there have been 29 draws. Less than a month ago Manchester United played Birmingham City at St. Andrew's. Dimitar Berbatov opened up the scoring on the 58th minute but Birmingham equalised in the 89th minute with a controversial goal, the game finished in a 1-1 draw. Manchester United will be without Rafael Da Silva after his sending off against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. They will also be without Ji-Sung Park who is away on international duty, both Antonio Valencia and Owen Hargreaves are out injured. Man United squad: Van der S...
Ben Foster Joins Birmingham City
2010-05-19 14:19:00
It has been announced today that goalkeeper Ben Foster has left Manchester United. He has joined Premier League side Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. Foster only managed to make 13 appearances for United during the 2009/10 season. He did play in some big games such as United?s 2-1 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford, the 4-3 win over Manchester City at Old Trafford and both Champions League matches against Besiktas. Unfortunately for Foster he did have a couple of shaky moments, he lacked confidence and was unable to take advantage of Edwin Van Der Sar?s absence. Instead it was Tomasz Kuszczak who became United?s number two keeper, pushing Foster down to number three in the pecking order. Understandably Foster wanted to play regular first team football and has now moved to St Andrew?s. Sir Alex Ferguson has said during a press conference that young keeper Ben Amos will not be going out on loan like first planned; instead he will become United?s third c...

WEBFLASH AH AH: Gary Cahill allowed to talk to Birmingham City
2008-01-17 10:43:00
It's not that we seem to learn all the news from other outlets before we learn it from the club that annoys me, but the lack of respect that the act demonstrates. Why do people at the club tell other sources before telling their fans? This time, we find out that Gary Cahill is allowed to talk to Birmingham City. I'm not sure on the general feeling on this matter so we've started a poll to the right.
Cahill to join Ridgewell at Birmingham City?
2008-01-14 03:57:00
Rumours are rife that Gary Cahill will be off this month and top of that list of rumoured purchasers are Birmingham City, closely followed by Paul Jewell at Derby. When Ridgewell decided to leave and join Blues I was more annoyed at O'Neill that he'd let a player go that I think has huge potential but this time, while I still believe Cahill has huge potential, I'm not actually that bothered.

2007-07-27 02:00:00
Birmingham City football club's female boss has urged women to challenge traditional career stereotypes and take up more unconventional roles, to help in Britain's looming skills shortage. Karren Brady, the first woman managing director of Birmingham City FC, has called on women to take advantage of new recruitment and career opportunities offered in the second phase of the government's Women & Work Project, aimed at giving women the chance to improve their skills and careers. Brady hopes the £10m scheme to help more than 10,000 women secure better training and support to fulfil their potential, introduced last September, will breakdown the barriers of women advancing in non-traditional roles. On her way to meet the skills minister David Lammy, Brady told Personnel Today she was looking forward to discussing what the remaining challenges are. She said: "What I'd really like to see is that the scheme is very much over-subscribed, so the government keeps going, because th...
