Payard Patisserie & Bistro - Caesars Palace, June 2008
2008-10-10 07:55:00
One of our favorite places to eat, Payard at Caesars Palace. Part of the reason we really like this place is because everything is homemade, no pre-made instant stuff. They used to have a dessert tasting menu for dinner or something like that, but they don't have it anymore. I ordered eggs benedict and it was sooo good. The best eggs benedict I ever had, although I don't know how many times I've had it before. What I remember is I had crab benedict at MGM cafe and it was awful and it cost the same price. My husband ordered the nicoise salad, because he always wanted have a nicoise salad and they had it. He loved it. We also ordered soup of the day, it was rich and creamy but too heavy for me.CLICK HERE for pics from early 2008.CLICK HERE for pics from 2007.*Join JBF Award Winner François Payard at Caesars Palace?s Payard Pâtisserie & Bistro for a hands-on demonstration of some of the most decadent and delicious desserts featured in his latest book, "Chocolate Epiphany: Exce...
Bungalow Bistro Offers OSHNA Forum
2008-09-24 19:02:00
The owners of Bungalow Bistro have very graciously offered to host a candidate forum for the upcoming Old Seminole Heights (OSHNA) board elections. The following letter was sent only to the current board since the Graham's did not have e-mail contact for all of the candidates and has since been circulated to all of the candidates. The date and time have not been determined. My understanding is that there would be an effort to have a moderator not connected to OSHNA to maintain neutrality.Personally, I think it is great that a business owner is taking such positive interest in the residential community. It looks like a win-win both for their business and our neighborhood. The Graham's had moved from the neighborhood but still own and operate two businesses in Seminole Heights. Both are attractive additions to our commercial district.Thank you Elizabeth and Michael for your continued interest in residential areas of our community.
Bungalowe Bistro Gets Supported

From the SESH email list:For those of you who expressed an interested in supporting the Bungalow Bistro, . . . .they received the unanimous support of the three associations for there more moderate quest for liquor licenses for the Bistro and the Salon. There were two neighbors who objected and a line of people in support. It ended with a continuance due to some language clarification needed. But it should pass when it comes before the Council in two weeks.

Reykjavik's best bistro-cum-bar
2008-06-09 00:00:00
From mid-afternoon coffees to two-course dinners or cocktails on the dance floor, Iceland's Vegamot can accommodate most dining and drinking needs. The two-floor venue is located in the heart of the capital on busy Vegamotastigur and serves as a cafe/bistro by day before transforming into one of the hippest clubs in the city after 10pm.Food-wise, Vegamot is famed for its fresh fish and decadent desserts, all served from lunch hour onwards. In summer outdoor dining becomes an option with tables set out on a cosy terrace.Later on however, the action is all inside as clubbers file in for fabulous vodka cocktails and bottled beers while top DJs do their stuff on the turntables. For other multi-purpose venues in Reykjavik, Hverfisbarinn transforms from a cultured coffee shop to cutting-edge club in the space of 12 hours every day. Located next to the National Theatre, its sexy interior boasts the best in Scandinavian design.

But I live in a country where Chinese food is as staple as rice. But once in a while I chance upon a place that serves great tasting Chinese dishes. And I am a hypocrite if I do not admit that of all Chinese edible creations, dimsum is the best. It is also the easiest to imitate. Friday Dinner at Jackson's Village Bistro on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Be
2008-05-19 19:06:00
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: After a long work day last Friday we needed a pleasant dinner to slow things down a bit and also to kick off the weekend. We made reservations at Jackson's Village Bistro earlier that afternoon and a table for two was waiting for us. We have been wanting to visit this popular local restaurant for some time. Our evening walks often take us past this eatery and it always appeared that it was well visited. Online reviews also promised a good meal. Metered parking is available on Pier Avenue. You can also find free parking at times behind the library located across the street. That is where we parked. An unusually warm evening for the coastal area of Los Angeles brought out many people out to the Hermosa streets. Patio dining areas were completely filled up everywhere.Rate and Review : Friday Dinner at Jackson's Village Bistro on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach, CA

I love to entertain people with the way I blog. I love to share my personal diet with ya'll on how to get skinny without the need of pills or even weird exercises like sit-ups and all that okay. That is all bullshits. So anyway, that's not the whole point I want to talk about.---------------There is no doubt that people hate me because I try so hard to stay thin as possible that some even thought I came out with stupid tips that might be a torture to people who thinspired to be skinny like Paris Hilton. A few thought that I did a whole sort of stupid things to get skinny like salading or biscuit-ing myself. I understood the emotions running through your mind alright. I really take that into consideration. So right now, I'm going to make ya'll happy and feel proud of myself. Since yesterday's interview with a Newpaper reporter was cancelled due to certain issues the reporter might had, the day didn’t bore me to tears as I thought it would be. Saturday Dinner at Zin American Bistro in Palm Springs, California
2008-04-14 20:03:00
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Zin was one of the best reviewed restaurants in Palm Springs, whether searching online or off line. It promised a good culinary experience with prices that did not go overboard. We made reservations for a Saturday evening dinner a few days in advance. We used OpenTable.com for the reservations and quickly netted a table for four people. On the evening of our visit, we strolled into town and walked a bit up and down Palm Canyon Drive. This pleasant Saturday evening brought out many people to the streets. From the outside, Zin Bistro did not promise much as it looked like a regular minimall storefront. Inside, it was a different story.Rate and Review : Saturday Dinner at Zin American Bistro in Palm Springs, California

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: During our stay in Palm Springs we spent the night very close to the main artery of the city, Palm Canyon Drive. Numerous business line the street catering to everyone's needs. We took several pleasant strolls up and down Palm Canyon just browsing around. One such stroll was on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We made reservations at Philippe's a few days in advance suspecting that this weekend might be a busy one. Philippe's is a popular eatery and it is open for breakfast only on weekends. It did fill up quickly and we were happy to have had a table waiting for us.Rate and Review : Sunday Breakfast at Chez Philippe French Bistro in Palm Springs, California

Dinner at Primitivo Wine Bistro on Abbot Kinney in Venice, California
2008-03-16 04:56:00
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Last weekend, we took a good friend out for a birthday dinner. During the search for a perfect place, we had some basic requirements. Good food, fun atmosphere, a new eatery (for us) and vicinity to West LA were high on the list. I have been writing down names of candidates for occasions like this for a while. Under the letter "P" there was Primitivo. Primitivo Wine Bar was recommended to us in several instances but for one reason or another we never visited it. This night would change that. We made reservations on Thursday afternoon for a Friday evening visit. A table for three at seven in the evening would be waiting for us. No Debates for CBS News and Katie Couric?
2008-03-05 15:31:00
?It wasn?t a financial decision. It?s a programming decision and finding an appropriate time to put it in prime time. It does cost a fair amount of money in preemption costs to put them in prime time. But that wasn?t the primary reason it didn?t happen.?-- Sean McManus, president of CBS News, trying -- unsuccessfully -- to explain why TV's highest paid news anchor, Katie Couric, did not host a single one of the 348 televised presidential debates. He was interviewed by The New York Observer's Felix Gillette for the story "Why No Debate for CBS Star Katie?" What's even worse? Nobody noticed Couric was MIA until this week.Tough week for CBS News anchors past and present, as it was also revealed that former "48 Hours" original anchor Dan Rather was excluded from the celebration of that show's 20th anniversary. He was apparently too busy hosting "The Search for Geraldo Rivera" on HDNet. Oh, and Edward R. Murrow is still dead. (Thanks to MediaBistro.com for the tip!) Amazon.com Widgets

Lunch at Cosette French Bistro in Midtown Manhattan, New York City
2008-01-04 20:49:00
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Four of us had to synchronize a lunch time meeting in Midtown Manhattan in late December. Quick review of restaurant options netted several possibilities. Cosette won as a casual, seemingly solid and inexpensive French Bistro. We made reservations and headed out on foot on this cold and brisk day. The city was not very busy. Usual lunch time crowds seemed to have subsided as Christmas was nearing. From Park Avenue we made our way East onto 33rd Street. From there it was not hard to locate Cosette with a maroon entrance and a sign announcing it. Rate and Review : Lunch at Cosette French Bistro in Midtown Manhattan, New York City
An Evening with Krista at Pinoy Bistro
2008-01-04 09:30:00
Upcoming singing sensation "Krista" was scheduled to host an intimate evening of music and dancing Thursday, January 3, 2008 at Pinoy Bistro Cerritos. "Krista" can entertain the crowd with her beautiful voice as well as her dances. Other singers were on hand to render lovely songs onstage on this night of live music and dancing. Krista is the daughter of Carmen and Dr. Kliener. The crowd had lots of fun with good food and live music. Krista is indeed the new talent to watch out for. This will be her last day to host this Holiday Season. Indeed this will be a new and different "Krista" which I have seen grown-up to be an up-coming world-class talent. She will be having her own concert soon (sometime in March 2008) which will surely captivate the Fil-Am community with her unique talent and a face that can launch a thousand ships. We are proud of you Krista, and so is the Fil-Am community. I can't wait for your launching and upcoming concert. (By Jay Fermin ppp-usa)Pinoy Bistro...

SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Bistro Du Soleil is one of our standard lunch spots. We visit this French bistro every few months and always come out satisfied. As you might suspect from our return visits we do like the food here. Its location is a bit unusual, at the sharp corner of Vista Del Mar Lane and the much larger Vista Del Mar Street. Busy Vista Del Mar runs just underneath the dining room but the sound insulation is solid and the inside of the restaurant is not loud at all. Parking is available right above the restaurant. There are only a few spots here. You might have to park on the street. Stopping for lunch on Saturday at around 12.30 we found the place warm, welcoming but strangely empty.  We were seated quickly by the two very nice waiters and started to look through the lunch time menu.  The place was empty except for an older couple sat at a window table looking out on High Petergate.  The décor was stylish and contemporary, the tables well laid and lit by candlelight.  Of course, the paper napkins were a bit of a let down.  Anyhow, we ordered.  I went for the Egg & Ham Tartlet , while Paul went for the Soup, both very reasonably priced at £3.50.  We ordered the recommended wine, an Argentinean  Malbec Dona Paula Estate 2006 which turned out to be a very fine choice. My tartlet was very good indeed.  The egg ran as soon as I broke into the tartlet, just the way I like it.  Paul was not so keen on his soup as it had separated slightly and was served with a basic microwave to defrost bun. The main courses soon arrived. I opted for the Chicken Breast...

Dining at Bistro Renaissance in Dexter, Michigan this weekend

We enjoyed Dinner at one of our quaint restaurants in Dexter VillageThe Bistro Renaissance opened July 2007 for dinner.  It is located at8093 Main Street Dexter, Michigan  48130 (734) 426-4200.  They feature casual elegant dining, with classic French and Italian influences.  The fresh bread was good. And the pear salad was divine.  I chose the veal, mushrooms, and asparagus with a glass of champagne. I was very happy with that selection.  My husband said the beef was excellent. He finished his meal with a perfect crème brulee and a Spanish coffee.  Our server, Lisa was very professional and quick. When we have a chance to return, we will.  My only regret is that it is not open for lunch.  We did thank one of the owners on the way out and wished them much success.Click here to search all listings in Michigan with pictures and tours - FREE!Kathy Toth and Teamwww.KathyToth.comReal Estate One
