2008-05-23 00:00:00 A new sports blog is up and running - the Dukes of Awesome - and I was alerted to it via a linkback. There, I found its 31 reasons to hate every NFL team that isn't the Buffalo Bills. The post starts thusly: In Buffalo we have a ...

Barack, Bibles and Bitterness
2008-04-27 02:12:00 The former Barack Hussein Obama has earned about as much right to wear a Marine Corps T-shirt as Jimmy Carter has earned to stand anywhere in the vicinity of an American flag. Both harbor an unhealthy contempt for our country and seem to have an affinity for terrorists, dictators and other anti-Americans. If there were ...

Thomas Frank Responds on Elitism and Bitterness
2008-04-21 17:16:00 Barack Obama’s recent comments on small town American voters have been compared to the writings of Thomas Frank. I discussed these views at length yesterday in this post. Today The Wall Street Journal has an op-ed from Thomas Frank. Frank looks at whether Obama, and Hillary Clinton, are elitist: Consider, for example, the one fateful charge that ...

On Polls, Bitterness, and Clinging?
2008-04-15 22:13:00 TNR’s Isaac Chotiner: Yes, yes, we should not get carried away with overnight tracking polls, but today Obama is up 11 points in Gallup (his biggest lead ever) and 9 points in Rasmussen. Since Saturday–which was the first night that included any post-bittergate data–Obama has moved up 10 points in Rasmussen and 4 points in Gallup. Nightly Ramble: Paul Harvey,Obama’s Bitterness, Iraq and more
2008-04-14 22:44:00 Scott Fybush over at NERW reports: *Former MASSACHUSETTS governor Mitt Romney guest-hosted the Paul Harvey show on Thursday, the latest in a line of personalities helping out with the show in the absence of the ailing Harvey, who’s now 89. NERW hears that Romney hosted the show from the studios of former Harvey affiliate WBZ (1030 Boston); his guest-host stint wasn’t actually heard in Boston, where nobody’s carrying Harvey now that WTTT (1150) has flipped to Spanish-language religion. That’s Odd; I thought he was on 1030/WBZ. I nkow they had ‘Rest of the Story” on during the 7 oclock hour, but WBZ’s been a little hard to get around here of late, with Bob Savage’s WYSL/1040 ripping up BZ’s sidebands… (and BZ, by the way, returning the favor, after Bob goes to night pattern…particularly with that damn digital hash) Course, with all the shuffling over there in Boston, who knows, anymore? Speaking of Harvey…. Ya...

This isn’t the first Time for Obama and ‘bitterness’
2008-04-14 21:02:00 Bruce McQuain, last night on the BlogTalkRadio show he and Dale Franks do, made reference to a 2004 appearance on the ostensibly friendly confines of Charlie Rose’s show. Bruce makes the point that Obama here is expressing pretty much the same one he did in the ‘bitterness’ comments that have gotten so much milage of late. I did some looking around and managed to find what Bruce was talking about. Here ’tis: And OK, it’s said here with a bit more in the way of sensitivity than the more recent comments… But still, note his focus; Union workers, and how government can bail them out. I mean, ignore, just for the moment, that it was Obama and people like Obama, with the help of the unions who added texes and relugation and expense to the point where they were the ones responsible for pushing the jobs out of those areas in the first place. And still, he’s suggesting, not that such things as their freedoms, and their religion is the cornerstone ...

On Obama, bitterness, limousine leftism, and the religion necessary to deal
2008-04-13 22:48:00 Although not the only way to divide Republicans and with the knowledge that overlap exists between the groups, most agree that rich, economically-driven Republicans have very different concerns than those motivated by social issues; small business owners; and members of the "leave me alone" coalition. Leave Us Alone: Getting the Government's Hands Off Our Money, Our Guns, Our Lives by Grover Norquist Democrats come in inner-city, government dependent; the sufficiently-isolated-from-the--effect-of-liberal-policies (graduate students and people who live in very safe neighborhoods and have a very secure existence- heiresses and the limousine liberals); actors; and union member varieties. Well, Barack, speaking to the limo-liberal type insulted everybody else on both lists. I won't repeat the excellent arguments here and here, but let me just point out why Barack will have problems living down his suspicion-confirming statement. The most insulting thing one can do in an argument i...

The Obama Bitterness Pill
2008-04-13 05:03:00 The Obama campaign spinning has only just begun!! The Huffington Post and Washington Post no less are beginning to see an opportunity for exposing a deeper story here. Where there is smoke there is fire, and perhaps the elitist label will stick more firmly on Obama than he would care to believe… In fact ...

Love Songs For Every Situation: Bitterness
2008-02-28 13:09:00 Disappointment in love — a relationship that ended, unrequited love, even a relationship that couldn't be — can turn to resentment. Love turning into hate can be a coping mechanism. It can be levelled at the ex- or putative partner, or at the whole notion of love in general. Such bitterness may be transient or it may abide, turning the brokenhearted into a fleeting wreck or into an enduring cynic
Bitterness does so much...
2007-12-21 03:15:00 One thing Ive learned myself.. and seeing a lot through other people is what a bitter heart can do...Bitterness in a persons heart makes me think about putting a drop of poison in our coffee each morning... day after day it will continue to hurt us.We've had issues of unforgiveness in my main family personally... and I am still amazed at how one persons unforgiveness can tear up an entire family. All because someone held onto something that may have bothered them... and just wouldnt forgive this person...THIS IS SO DANGEROUS.I was reading in my quiet time today and just so happen to come across this verse..."But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there, but the wisdom that is from above is 1st pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, wit...

Do I Taste Bitterness? Yes, Much!
2007-11-26 07:07:00 I am not feeling as bitter as I had been on Shabbat evening, thanks very much in part to a great conversation with Sidharth over MSN that same night when he reminded me to give thanks for everything, the good and the bad. What am I bitter about?

Bitterness!
2007-11-17 14:10:00 Current Mood: Happy Every now and again I am struck by how sad and bitter people can be. I’ve read a few blogs tonight that reinforce this thought. I’ve also had a phone call that reminds me of it further. My boyfriend and I have been seeing each other now for many many months and although we’ve ...

Bitterness of the heart
2007-10-12 07:28:00 After discussing this with my husband, we came to the conclusion it was best to remove several comments from my blog this evening. Unfortunately, my blog is set up in such a way that if I delete a comment, most strings under it are deleted as well if someone just hit the reply button. This made a few get deleted unintentionally and I'm sorry for that. I had received not only comments but emails as well and tried to respond in a loving manner but it kept ending with me saying "I don't know what you want from me." The truth is, nothing I could say would have made a difference. One of my favorite people I have come to respect a great deal, though I've never met him, is Doug Phillips of Vision Forum. I participated in the Jamestown 400 this year and throughout the whole event was inspired by the way this man lives his life for God. Many times I had to google "Mr Phillips" or questions that were posed during the 400 to try and find answer...
Bitterness
2007-10-11 17:33:00 ?lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled?Bitterness may be defined as, ?a feeling of deep and bitter anger and ill-will,? and is a powerful enemy of charity and Christian living. Scripture declares, ?grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.?Bitterness may arise from burdens, criticism, denial of faults, feeling uncomfortable, unforgiveness, and comparing ourselves to others, failing to acknowledge our own sin, along with many others. We must not allow bitterness to have its way in our lives, for ?any root of bitterness springing up trouble? in us, opens the door ?thereby many be defiled.? Do we really want to be the reason that many become defiled?Yes, there may be things...
NRO aims at removal of bitterness: Sherpao
2007-10-08 17:00:00 CNews ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao Monday said the National Reconciliation Ordinance is neither a political conspiracy nor aims at letting someone down; rather it has been introduced to remove the environment of political tension and bitterness from the country.Talking to media persons here he said President Pervez Musharraf has issued the ordinance in consultation with the cabinet and the statement of Chaudhry Shujat Husain in this regard has wrongly been interpreted.About the presidential election he said it was transparent and the convincing victory of Pervez Musharraf in the election is the result people?s confidence.Referring to Waziristan situation, Sherpao said the government wants reconciliation there and is working on a multi-prong strategy in collaboration with the tribal elders for peace and stability.?The government has also introduced the same strategies twice in the recent past but the terrorist elements make those void.?He said the tribal are ...
Bitterness Leads You Away From Self
2007-09-11 04:09:00 Most of us do things for others consciously for reasons that do not work for us subconsciously. The result is a message (a feeling) from the subconscious to the conscious saying you did not get what you wanted because you were not working in harmony with what the spirit wanted for you… More: continued here ...

Free Yourself from Bitterness
2007-06-28 23:37:00 It's easy when things go differently than we hoped to be negative and become bitter. The more useful and healthy option is to choose to use the experience to improve yourself and your future. Numerous studies have shown that bitterness and negativity hurt you mentally, physically, and emotionally, not to mention financially because of the distraction it causes. When you focus on what you want to happen in the future (instead of what didn't happen in the past), you focus your energies and actions on bringing your ideal future to life.
