Cuando la banda se separo, en 1993 se lanza como solista... aunque la banda regreso en 2004, el sigue con su carrera de solista y esta vez saca "Bluefinger" su disco numero 15 como solista, este disco salio en Septiembre de este año, aunque desde principios de año ya podia encontrarse en internet. Tienen que escuchar "Your Mouth Into Mine" que es una rola excelente, aqui pueden ver el video, que esta medio porno, pero en fin... jaja muy buena rola. Disfruten!

2007-10-04 23:30:00 Cause for celebration: Erstwhile Pixies frontman/rock ?n? roll lifer Charles Thompson is back for another round, this time reclaiming his ?old? stage name Black Francis and rocking out harder on record than he has in years. For ?Bluefinger,? Francis drew inspiration from iconic Dutch musician/painter Herman Brood, whose mercurial, drug-fueled life and dramatic suicide color most of the album?s lyrics. The Brood cover ?You Can?t Break a Heart and Have It? is one of the high points, a furious power-trio jam on the barrelhouse blues number, complete with backing vocals by Francis? wife, Violet Clarke. ?Threshold Apprehension? has angular guitars, lung-busting lead vocals and ?oo-wee-oos? by Clarke that should remind listeners of the Pixies? Kim Deal. But no less enthralling is laid-back fare like ?Discotheque 36,? its easy groove informed by Thompson?s recent forays into Americana.

After participating in the Pixies reunion, he returns to the Pixies style of song writing.The songs aren't as weird as the Pixies and it's no Doolittle but it certainly closer to the Pixies than anything he did under the name Frank Blank.The album starts off with "Captain Pasty" who's fuzz bass rocks harder than anything Black's been associated with for years. Other tracks like "Angels Come to Comfort You" could have been released under the Frank Black moniker but certainly would've been a stand out track on any of his albums. Sadly, the best and most rocking track on the album is "You Can't Break a Heart and Have It" which is a cover of Dutch songwriter Herman Brood.With the Pixies reunion over and no new Pixies material on the foreseeable horizon, Bluefinger is the closest Pixies' fans are going to get. I would recommend enjoying it and taking it for what it is, the best so...
