The U.S. House of Representative finally got with the program today and voted May 13, 2008 as Frank Sinatra Day. Too bad they didn't take the vote until May 20. The vote was 402-3. We assume the three no's were the only three that could read a calendar.Whitney Houston's marijuana possession charge stemming from a 2000 incident in Hawaii has been dropped. Shout Factory is preparing two DVD's of classic performances from Tammy Wynette and Marty Robbins. Songs will be taken from such programs as Pop Goes the Country, Town Hall Party and The Bill Anderson Show. Look for them on August 19.David Bowie says that he has NOT given permission for his songs to be used in a musical version of his film The Man Who Fell to Earth. He stated that the rumors were "absolute toss" and he didn't even know the name of the director, Peter Schaufuss. Tremendo concierto, tremendo tema !!Iron Man es el título de una canción del grupo británico de Heavy Metal Black Sabbath. La canción se incluyó primeramente en el álbum Paranoid de 1970. Tiene una duración de 6 minutos, durante los cuales el ritmo semi lento de la canción logró revolucionar al mundo del heavy metal. A partir de Iron Man, se pudo concebir que el rock pesado no tenía que ser tocado a una velocidad rápida para ser bueno, y que podía ser tenebroso aún a una velocidad semilenta. It was brought to my attention that a "new release" is coming in the UK on November 5th. It's "Black Sabbath: The Dio Years - UK Tour Edition". This was the first I had heard of it, so I did some investigating, and a couple of emails to band management later, I have some details to pass on: As the name suggests, this is a special re-release to coincide with the dates at the end of the 2007 Heaven & Hell Tour that take place in the UK. This will be a two disc release. The first disc is the same as the existing disc that was released back in April. The second disc has four live tracks. These tracks are: Neon Knights (Live) The Mob Rules (Live) Children of the Grave (Live) Voodoo (Live) The live tracks were taken from the limited edition "Live at Hammersmith" release from Rhino Handmade back in May. I was told that the booklet is pretty much the same as the original (except for the credits and whatnot added because of the second disc). This is a UK only release, and ...

"Dirty Women" is the final track from Black Sabbath's seventh album Technical Ecstasy. At seven minutes and thirteen seconds it is the longest track on the album. Lyrically the song has prostitution as its subject and, with several changes in riff, it relies heavily on Tony Iommi's guitar work. Black Sabbath Vol 4 is the fourth studio album by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath, released in 1972.The album was originally to be titled Snowblind, the name of a track on the album which was a reference to cocaine use. The record company felt this to be controversial, for the American market in particular, so the title was altered. The song Snowblind had to be re-recorded because in the original Ozzy yelled the word cocaine after each verse. He can still be heard whispering cocaine in the final version, and he often shouted, Cocaine! during live performances of the song, as he does in their Reunion live album and the bootleg album Live at Last. In the liner notes of the album Black Sabbath thanks to the great COKE-Cola Company, a slightly-hidden drug reference. Sabotage is a 1975 album by heavy metal band Black Sabbath.Sabotage, originally released on Warner Bros. Records in the US and NEMS in the UK, was Black Sabbath's sixth studio outing. Singer Ozzy Osbourne has often complained in interviews over the years that this album marked the beginning of what he described as guitarist Tony Iommi's studio production obsession. It took vastly longer than the previous albums each took to record or produce, making for the most costly Sabbath album to that point (the first album only took a few hundred pounds and a couple of days). Like the previous album, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, fan response was mixed.In regard to sound, the album continues a trend that began with the previous album. Heaven and Hell is an album by Black Sabbath, released in May 1980. This was the first album after singer Ozzy Osbourne left the band and was the first album featuring Ronnie James Dio , formerly of Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow, who brought his own unique style of song writing and vocalisation to the band. With the changing of singers, a change in songwriting approaches, and the sound crafting skills of famous heavy metal producer Martin Birch, the band altered their trademark drudge rock to a faster, slicker and more melodic sound.The addition of Dio to the Sabbath lineup was not the only change made at this point however. Let's play a classic that I enjoy a lot. Black Sabbath (yeah, everyone knows about it, no need to tell much) is said to be the "starting point" of metal music. They were the first ones playing music that is nowadays considered as metal. Some people claim that "all guitar riffs are already invented by Black Sabbath" and that the riffs today are all based on the riffs invented by Black Sabbath. Who knows, not me.
