Busy Girl tried out for club (travel) volleyball a couple of weeks ago. It's very competitive, so we had no idea how things would turn out, especially since she's not played club before (the season she just finished was the school team). She's very good, but didn't have a stellar night at the second night of tryouts, so we were pretty sure she'd make a third team (1 being best). Nothing's wrong with the 3rd team. but since she is already a freshman she has some catching up to do with those who have played for years and I want her to have as much instruction and practice as possible. Her school is very competitive in the sport and is in the state finals most every year, so making junior varsity even is not a given. She made the 3rd team at choice B (more competitive club), but we hear they may be ...

Steven is going to Westminster to give out a new price sheets of his converters and I cant stand it to be alone in the house in this kind of weather. So even though I have a mild headache due to lack of sleep, I tag along with him and take a little nap going to Westminster, Maryland. It was an hour ride going there thats why I got the chance to let myself drowse a bit. The road was foggy too, if thats me driving, I would be having a hard time because I can barely see a thing. Randy did try a last minute attempt to take the boys around 8pm but it started to rain a bit again so he decided to skip it. We did keep the boys up until 9:30pm so they could watch the show on PBS. Woodrow was talking about going to see the fireworks all day, so he was disappointed but he liked watching it on tv and hearing it outside. Poor guy….I’m thinking we might get to see some fireworks this weekend when we hit the beach. I had my endoscopy scheduled for when we get from vacation on the 16th..but I was feeling so bad last night and this morning that I called to rescheduled. At the Wheaton conference on the church fathers, keynote speaker Christopher Hall cited St. Gregory of Nazianzus' admonition that you shouldn't do theology unless you have a pure heart and meditate often. Otherwise it becomes a competitive sport, or an arrogant attempt to penetrate all of God's mysteries through human reasoning. Unless one simultaneously engages in perceptual and behavioral habit-formation within a church community, it's best not to bloviate about the Almighty.So I won't.
