Busy Girl tried out for club (travel) volleyball a couple of weeks ago. It's very competitive, so we had no idea how things would turn out, especially since she's not played club before (the season she just finished was the school team). She's very good, but didn't have a stellar night at the second night of tryouts, so we were pretty sure she'd make a third team (1 being best). Nothing's wrong with the 3rd team. but since she is already a freshman she has some catching up to do with those who have played for years and I want her to have as much instruction and practice as possible. Her school is very competitive in the sport and is in the state finals most every year, so making junior varsity even is not a given. Steven is going to Westminster to give out a new price sheets of his converters and I cant stand it to be alone in the house in this kind of weather. So even though I have a mild headache due to lack of sleep, I tag along with him and take a little nap going to Westminster, Maryland. 2007-12-23 02:24:00 So what did I accomplish this year?By conservative estimate I wrote over half a million words on finished projects. Not counting blogs. Most of my words sold. A few I'm still waiting to hear on. One short I'm fairly certain is a no-go but I may revamp it to send elsewhere, as I'm pretty confident that if it doesn't sell it's because the voice was wrong for that particular house/project and not because the story itself sucks (I'm actually quite proud of the story.)And one set of words I am of course still waiting for a little time to pass so I can do more editing and start subbing, fingers crossed.I'm hoping 2008 will be a better year for me. I went to the cinema with a couple of friends this evening to see Brick Lane but it was sold out so can't tell you what it was like ................. It was a frustrating day - still trying to sort out A's visa which they're still trying to turn down and send him back to the Cameroon despite all his good work in the community - apparently that all counts for nothing!! Last ditch attempt to overturn this ridiculous ruling - we're complaining to the Ombudsman about the mal-administration and unfair treatment. It's all so exhausting and annoying and time wasting instead of getting on with the community work the organisation was set up for in the first place. Anyway ........... last night I slept from 1.30am to about 5.30am - not too bad - then dozed till 8 ish so could have been worse. Tonight I'll try an early night and see what happens.
