"I Was Listening to This Stuff When You Were Still..." Blah Blah Blah
2008-06-04 13:40:00 What a long, strange career this has been: Almost 20 years ago, I was sneaking into my parents' offices to photocopy my own (admittedly terrible) punk-rock fanzines, the best of which featured... Blah Gonna Be So Bored
2008-05-26 14:36:00 I’m going to a BBQ at my brother in laws today. Not really looking forward to it for a number of reason that I won’t go into right now. But will say this, I don’t think it’ll matter whether I’m there or not. I think I’d much rather be out with my mom. At least ...

Faster than the Japanese's blah blah blah...
2008-05-20 14:24:00 There was a Japanese who went to India for sightseeing. On the last day, he hired a cab and told the driver to drive to the Airport.During the journey, a Honda drove past the taxi. Thereupon, the man leaned out of the window excitedly and yelled, "Honda, very fast! Made in Japan !!!.After a while, a Toyota sped past the taxi and again the Japanese man leaned out of the window and yelled, "Toyota, very fast! Made in Japan!" And then a Mitsubishi sped past the taxi. For the third time, the Japanese leaned out of the window and yelled, "Mitsubishi, very fast! Made in Japan!"The driver was a little angry, but he kept quiet. And this went on for quite a number of cars. Finally, the taxi came to the airport. The fare was 800 rupees. !!!!The Japanese exclaimed, "What??â?¦ so expensive!" There upon, the driver yelled back, "Meter, Made in India VERY VERY FAST !!!!!
Are Ashlee Simpson And Pete Wentz Getting Married This Weekend? 'Blah, I Go
2008-05-13 17:56:00 'I wish we could write a fun story about music or a robot that's really a human or something,' Wentz says.By James Montgomery Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Photo: Nancy Ostertag/ Getty Images Are Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson set to be married this Saturday at a "top secret" location? Well, according to Us Weekly, the answer is "Yes." In a story that published late Monday on its Web site, the magazine quoted "a source close to the couple," who said that the pair will marry on Saturday, and that while "proper invites have not been sent out," guests have already received a save-the-date notice. There is also apparently a rehearsal dinner — described as "an intimate affair" for "family and close friends only" by the inside source — scheduled for Friday, and that on Saturday "all guests will be transported by shuttles to the wedding location" in an attempt to give paparazzi the slip. Looking for confirmation, MTV News reached out to Wentz himself, who — p...

2008-04-17 03:27:00 It?s another useless and quite possibly anti-real holiday Thursday (Hi Kat, sorry). It?s not everyday that we get to celebrate bogus holidays (when you count yesterday?s 3 celebrations ) during back to back days. Well, that?s excluding Christmas Eve and Christmas (I get my birthday on the 24th and then Christmas on the 25th. It?s ok; you can go ahead and write my birthday down just in case I forget to give it to you again. Though that is as likely to happen as it is having photos of me wearing a sombrero and hula skirt dancing to ABBA hits surface on the internet). Today is Blah Blah Blah Day. I had my own idea regarding what the day celebrates, but it?s a good thing I went ahead and looked it up. I would have assumed (and no, assuming does not make me an ass, it makes me a motivated go-getter for postulating a theory without adequate information. I?m a trailblazer, if you will) that it was just a day where we are supposed to go around saying lots of meaning less things like ...
BUDDYFINDER’S FRIEND-TRACKER: KIND OF BLAH
2008-04-04 09:05:00 At CTIA 2008 in Las Vegas, I took a look at LiveContacts BuddyFinder, Web app that launches on April 15. I tried it out with a non-GPS phone, and in the process moved to Germany. To clear a little confusion, BuddyFinder and LiveContacts are two sort-of related names for the app, which is itself the free branch of the better-known FindWhere, a Dutch company with a much more useful, robust service--tracking people down (kids, an elderly parent, a wayward spouse) through their devices. FindWhere includes lost phone recovery, emergency alerts, and notification services if the device goes outside your specified bounds. Of course, the free BuddyFinder doesn't do all that. Instead, it installs an app to the phone (with yet another name) that utilizes either GPS or cell phone triangulation on select smartphones, and broadcasts the location to FindWhere's servers. The app's only role is to play transmitter. Buddies then see your location mapped online after every five minutes or loc...
The Pope:“He is not a man of blah, blah, blah,” the archbishop said. â€
2008-03-31 06:19:00 “The image of Benedict XVI is not only not well known, but it is badly known,” said Archbishop Pietro Sambi, who, as apostolic nuncio, is the Vatican’s top diplomat in the UniteStates.Benedict, a former professor, is a pope who cultivates words more than dramatic gestures — in contrast to his predecessor, Pope John Paul II. The key to this trip, Archbishop Sambi said, will be to listen to Benedict’s speeches in their entirety.Although the pope is arriving in the midst of a presidential election, Archbishop Sambi said: “I can assure you that the pope will not at all interfere with the electoral process. He will not meet with any of the candidates.”“The Pope will speak about the doctrine of the Church, which has been established 2,000 years ago, much before there was any Democratic or Republican Party of the United States,” Archbishop Sambi said.http://www.nytimes.com/200-8/03/31/us/31papal.html?hp Can you imagine what Jesus would say after a v...

Thoughts on Blah-ging
2008-03-19 16:09:00 Yes, I still am on a slow down mode in blah-ging (isn't that version of spelling funny, as in blah blah blah in blogs? :) ) . I often look at my ranking at blogtopsite and topblogarea, and I'd be lying if I say it's ok that it's going down and I am not worried. Because the truth is, I am worried about my ranking going too low during my slow down mode. I know... I know... I'm blogging for me and I shouldn't be worried about traffic and ranking. However, as much as I enjoy blogging and I'm blogging for the love of blogging, I am also hoping that the little income I earn through the ads in my blog would help supplement the income I'd be losing because I went part-time. And as all of us bloggers know, blog income is almost always directly proportional to blog traffic. More importantly, I really enjoy "being connected to you, my blogging friends" and a slow down mode reduces that connectedness, in my opinion. I need or want to be able to respond to comments, I think that wo...

2008-03-03 18:54:00 I don't know what is wrong with me today, but I can't shake this "blah" feeling that is hovering over me. I feel like something is wrong or that I'm depressed about something, but there's nothing for me to be bummed about. It's the strangest thing. I really don't want to be at work today either. I just want to go home, crawl back in my pajamas and watch television all day.
blah blah blah... hehehe
2008-02-27 15:05:00 It was so gloomy yesterday when I woke up. The sky is so dark, the place is all wet, muddy and slippery due to drizzling of rain. Steven is going to Westminster to give out a new price sheets of his converters and I cant stand it to be alone in the house in this kind of weather. So even though I have a mild headache due to lack of sleep, I tag along with him and take a little nap going to Westminster, Maryland. It was an hour ride going there thats why I got the chance to let myself drowse a bit. The road was foggy too, if thats me driving, I would be having a hard time because I can barely see a thing. Good thing my honeybunch is a good driver he can zoom thru the fog. He got 4 eyes anyway. hehehehe. We did a few stops here and there in Maryland, going to junk shops and seeing the interstate battery guy to hand him out one and buy his converters. And stops in Wawa too to have some of there good coffee and had dinner at KFC to feed our hungry stomachs. After that we went to Stevens O...
80th Annual Acadamy Awards...blah, blah, blah
2008-02-25 13:09:00 Okay, I tried to watch the 80th Acadamy Award show and it honestly put me to sleep. It was just as boring as I expected it to be. I really don't see how anybody finds it entertaining to watch. However, I will post some notable things that kept my attention for like 5 secs. Diddy stepped out on the red carpet, although I'm not completely sure why he was there. Don't forget to check out the made-for-TV movie A Raisin in the Sun, which stars Diddy. The film airs Monday, February 25th at 8 p.m. on ABC. Watching Diddy act will be entertaining in its self.Diablo Cody opted not to wear themillion dollar Stuart Weitzman shoes to the show. She had this to say earlier on her myspace blog:"I'm actually really pissed about this, now that I think about it. They're using me to publicize their stupid shoes and nobody asked me. I would never consent to a lame publicity stunt at a time when I already want to hide. I'm sorry if I sound like a party-pooper, but Jeebus."Whatever the reason, milli...

Monday Morning Blah/Open Thread
2008-01-28 11:38:00 It's like pulling teeth to get some decent headlines around here. Cubs have three in this guys top 50 fantasy starters Yippee! A Zeppelin! From the Baltimore Sun: 8. Carlos Zambrano, Chicago Cubs, RHP - Zambrano could win 20 games and strike out over 200 hitters this year. He could also struggle with his command, which would decrease his number of wins. The 26-year-old right-hander is the biggest question mark of pitchers listed this high, but his potential could be worth the risk. ... 35. Ted Lilly, Cubs, LHP ... 37. Rich Hill, Cubs, LHP This guy's really got the inside scoop He must know an insider. From the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle: Here's an exciting baseball trade rumor almost too cruel for long-suffering Chicago Cubs fans to contemplate (and be crushed when it doesn't happen): Baltimore pitcher Erik Bedard and second baseman Brian Roberts to the Cubs for a bunch of top prospects. You heard it here first! Le Bédard to M's? Proggy's got a whole diary devoted to thi...
Decrying sheeple of the blah-blah sisterhood
2008-01-27 03:52:00 "I've been married to my wife for 10 years. But if she came up here, you wouldn't laugh." - Chris RockIf at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and cry again. Or claim to have found your voice after 35 years of public service only to leave the heavy lifting to your attack dog of a husband who also happens to be the 42nd President of the United States. Make your running platform a nod to experience and competence when you're clearly lacking in both areas. Anyone who claims politics isn't one helluva tragicomedy clearly hasn't been paying attention to the Democratic race for the Oval Office. This whole process felt like déjà vu to me, as if I'd seen the trailer for this long before. The gratingly annoying overachiever who felt as if her coronation was inevitable only to see the popular jock riding a surging momentum wave into what was thought to be an insurmountable lead. And alas, I had. Slate has put forward the most hilarious and comprehensive screenplay of w...

2008-01-20 08:00:00 This, as should be obvious, is a packet of moist cat food. What might not be obvious to non-Russian speakers is that it is RABBIT flavored. Now, I don?t suppose there is anything wrong with that; after all, rabbits are a perfectly acceptable prey for kitties world wide. However, after watching Vinni Pookh way too many times, the word ?????? (rabbit) is, for me, synonymous with Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh. It seems wrong somehow to be feeding ?????? to my kitties! They, on the other hand, love it.
Blah!
2008-01-19 04:25:00 I ended up having to go to the luncheon today, where they were teaching all about “how to be a lady”. I sat there, in my Sunday best thinking that if they didn’t hurry up I was going to slip my heels off. I really need to start dressing up more often, because I seriously can’t do heels any more. I wear sneakers all the time and normally jeans and t-shirts, and today was just terrible. My feet are still hurting. I’m tempted to go soak them for a while and see if it helps. One would think that expensive dress shoes would be comfy, but they are just as bad as the cheap ones. So now, not only are my feet hurting, but so is my head for spending all that money on shoes that I can’t wear!

New Year New You Blah Blah Blah!
2008-01-11 03:58:00 Hey Everyone, it’s Rebecca again! Ok, I am tired of hearing about New Year resolutions. Every morning show has a segment on how to lose weight, budget, date better, etc…I have decided this year to resolve to grow spiritually. You won’t hear about that on any morning show. You won’t hear Diane Sawyer say if you really want a happy new year read your Bible more. Matt Lauer is not telling you to pray on a regular basis, and Chris Cuomo (New guy on Good Morning America) won’t say if you really want to get your finances in order you should pay your tithe to God. I know it all sounds a little to easy but I think growing spiritually would be an easier resolution than resolving to lose weight, manage money better or anything else you could resolve to do. The great thing about growing spiritually is once you do, all the other areas in your life can fall into place. So if you want to lose weight pray that God will help you to seek his peace and like th...

Pagerank...Blah
2007-12-28 00:34:00 So in the short time that I've been learning about blogging, I've come to both realize and despise the importance of something called Pagerank. Basically, Pagerank is a score, between 0 and 10, that Google gives your site based on a number of factors, such as links pointing to your site, and the Pagerank of the sites that link to your site. When you first make a site, your Pagerank starts at 0. Unfortunately, it takes a while for your Pagerank to go up. Google apparently only updates it every few months, so new sites will be ranked 0 (or N/A) for a while no matter what. At least a couple months it seems. So why does Pagerank matter? Well, there's one big reason that I've found so far, and that involves advertising. It looks like advertisers, including companies that pay you to post, depend heavily on Pagerank. Rather then just looking at your content, they decide how good your site is based primarily on your Pagerank.I guess I'm just a little bitter at the moment that Google has...

Hell, even Hard Eight, which he has semi-disowned (well, he won't refer to it as "Hard Eight," a studio-given title), and Punch-Drunk Love are both pretty damn interesting.

Something about goals and words written and blah blah blah
2007-12-23 02:24:00 So what did I accomplish this year?By conservative estimate I wrote over half a million words on finished projects. Not counting blogs. Most of my words sold. A few I'm still waiting to hear on. One short I'm fairly certain is a no-go but I may revamp it to send elsewhere, as I'm pretty confident that if it doesn't sell it's because the voice was wrong for that particular house/project and not because the story itself sucks (I'm actually quite proud of the story.)And one set of words I am of course still waiting for a little time to pass so I can do more editing and start subbing, fingers crossed.I'm hoping 2008 will be a better year for me. Even-numbered years usually are better, don't know why. 2007 wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. Lots of personal stuff going on. Some disappointments and general ennui. Might have been nice to see the sun more than two days in a row throughout the year as well. I love clouds and I love rain but even I got a little sick of it this year, ...
