2008-05-07 01:11:00 Capitol/EMI will release an expanded version of Blondie's Parallel Lines to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The June 24 CD/DVD release will add four new audio tracks along with the promo videos for three of the album singles and a performance from the BBC's Top of the Pops.Parallel Lines was originally released in 1978 as the group's third album after Blondie and Plastic Letters. Produced by Mike Chapman, the album is considered to be their finest hour with not only their first big hits (Heart of Glass and One Way or Another) but also finely honed deep tracks from all of the band members. More interesting was the fact that Blondie had the longest time period between number 1 records until the posthomous arrival of My Sweet Lord by George Harrison. Somewhat ironic I suppose.I remember for Show and Tell at New Gilston Primary School, we had to bring in something musical and I brought in a Wagner LP of Tannheuser, which I thought was very inspiring. Unfortunately it was widely ridiculed by my peers. My friend John Callan brought in his older brothers 45 of My Sweet Lord, which I found very boring, but which was deemed to be very cool by everybody else. I still think it is boring, but there you go.

The Heart Of Glass singer admits taking steps to preserve her good looks was "something she had to do" and believes going under the knife boosted her career. She says, "Everybody knows that I've had plastic surgery. I did it for business reasons. You photograph better, and looks are a key part of being an entertainer, so I felt it was something I had to do. All sorts of horrific things happen in life - why make it worse by worrying about getting older? Do some charity work, or learn a new skill instead."At least she is honest about doing it. It is so pathetic when celebrities lie about having plastic surgery, because it is so obvious when they do!

I must have looked confused, because she went on to explain that many presents must be making their way to our house via UPS truck since it was, afterall, getting very close to her birthday.
