RAW Reaction: Kennedy/Carlito Get Big Wins
2007-07-31 05:23:00
Tonight's RAW contained eight matches, and needless to say, there were some surprises. Kennedy pins Lashley with a clean victory and Carlito beats the Champ!Firstly, Carlito's Cabana is back, which should provide him with a nice push out of the mid-card and toward the top of the roster. Let's hope. We'll review the matches one by one here:Divas Tag Match - The sole purpose of this match was to move Santino Marella in a new direction. It's been rumored lately that he'll be making a heel turn, which makes sense considering that WWE sees foreigners as more hatable wrestlers.Santino Marella vs. Umaga - It was surprising not to see Jeff Hardy make an appearance in this match. He'll most likely be fighting Umaga at SummerSlam, so look for that feud to continue. Umaga is really starting to get some huge pops.Cody Rhodes vs. Daivari - It wouldn't have surprised me at all to see Cody lose this match and moved to Smackdown. Afterall, he was just brought up from OVW and might wa...
Will WWE Put Over Its Great Heels?
2007-07-12 20:51:00
WWE has in their possesion some great heels who have all the potential in the world: The Legend Killer Randy Orton and (an Irish Whip favorite) Mr. Kennedy. However, recently these guys have more or less been used as beating devices for the top faces in the company, like Cena, Lashley, HBK, and Triple H. Will there come a time that WWE puts over either Orton or Kennedy with a clean win and makes him the top man in the company? The only way this would happen is if WWE turned one of them face. This wouldn't be difficult: Orton has been a beloved face in the past, and lot's of people love Kennedy to start with. Here's what WWE should do: a couple of months before a Wrestlemania, turn one of them face and turn Cena (or whoever the champ is at the time) heel. Then allow Orton or Kennedy a clean win. I generally like Cena, and he does a pretty good job with the belt, but he has had it for years now and has run his course. Orton and Kennedy (the Whip endorses Kennedy!) can be GREAT....
RAW Preview
2007-07-09 23:07:00
We're getting closer and closer to The Great American Bash, and with the main events already determined, WWE will surely have to build up some hype for them. This is exactly what we'll see tonight...The main event of tonight's RAW, according to WWE.com, is Bobby Lashley vs. King Booker. Here's my prediction: the ref goes down, Mr. Kennedy interferes to Booker's benefit, who then picks up the victory. Lashley, however, clears the ring after the match. We'll see...John Cena will not be appearing on RAW tonight since he will be on Larry King Live. I predict that Mr. Kennedy challenges Cena to a match tonight, and then brags when Cena doesn't show. The match will take place next week.Randy Orton will continue his disrespect towards Dusty Rhodes in building up to their match at the Bash. Just another legend for Orton to kill before a giant feud with Triple H.Carlito and the Sandman will surely have a match at the Bash, so look for their feud to continue. They met in a matc...
End of Summer Preview
2007-07-09 20:09:00
What direction will the WWE be taking from now until Summerslam? How will the major returns affect the end of the summer? I'll give you some analysis on the rumors and facts of the end of the summer in WWE. Also, I'll give you my opinion on ppv predictions, but I want your take too.Alright folks, let's look ahead shall we? The end of this summer COULD be one of the greatest in WWE history...COULD be. WWE has to start basically from scratch, and this will allow them to develop creative storylines and build up superstars a great deal. This huge summer could happen because of 4 reasons:1. Almost everyone on the WWE roster will be intact (so it seems) With the exception of Helms HBK and maybe Taker...I think that everyone will be intact by the end of summer...which is a result of the next reason...2. Huge returns. Think of the amount of hype that they can build for the returns of Rey Mysterio, Triple H, and possibly The Undertaker. If you didn't see Smackdown last night, they are alr...
RAW Reaction: Lashley Gets The Push
2007-07-03 05:42:00
As reported earlier, the main event at the Great American Bash will be John Cena vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE title. These are the two top active stars in the company right now (isn't that a shame?) and they're going to go at it. I think we need a new WWE champ, at least for now, but I don't think that man should be Bobby Lashley. His mic skills are still unacceptably awful and his persona could use an injection of energy. Orton, Booker, and Kennedy all are great candidates for that title. Two other things of interest:- Umaga regains the Intercontinental title, and as stated before this is to add legitimacy to him before his SummerSlam match with the Jackass crew. He also won the Intercontinental belt right before his big match at Wrestlemania, if you recall.- Did it seem to anybody else that Shelton Benjamin may be receiving a push soon? He got time to cut a promo and wrestled his first singles match in a long time. It's about time they get him moving again.Drew Arnold, ...
WWE or TNA? I Want Your Take
2007-06-22 02:12:00
Yes?I am going to post another opinion question (except this will be longer). I know that we technically don?t cover TNA on this website, but after seeing two videos that were posted on nodq.com (see the ?excitement? category for links) I started comparing the two products. Ben initially covered TNA in his article "Why You Should Be Watching TNA" but he stopped the discussion before a comparison of brands. I'd like to break it down for you now:Category 1: ExcitementI?ll start off by posting links to the best of TNA, and the best of AJ StylesThese two videos show incredible athleticism and creativity. After watching these videos I find myself wanting to become a TNA fan. Since WWE has such a huge fan base, TNA has to pull fans away from WWE and toward TNA. This means that TNA has to have this kind of excitement every single night to keep up with WWE (which I feel is not happening at all). Now I will give you some links to WWE videos: WWE1 and WWE2 (and i don't think that these two ...
RAW Reaction: This is Awesome
2007-06-19 05:10:00
All I can say is...Monday Night RAW quickly went form being a show with a lot of low points and obnoxiousness to being incredibly good. Let's review tonight's show:London and Kendrick debuted in an incredible match against Haas and Benjamin (as predicted, of course, in the RAW preview). They will revive the tag team division on RAW and continue to be one of the greatest tag teams of ALL TIME. Maybe better than even the Hardys???A Carlito-Sandman feud? This is awesome! I figured WWE would make the Sandman a jobber on RAW, and he may put Carlito over in this feud, but he has a great opportunity to push his popularity. This is the first time that he's really been exposed on the flagship show. And he was bleeding like crazy tonight!Daivari and Jeff Hardy had a great match tonight, and the Hardys-Cade and Murdoch feud continues to be a good one.Mick Foley vs. Umaga was sort of the low point of the show. I like Umaga's character, but they sure could use him a little better. H...
ECW Reaction / CM Punk Moving?
2007-06-06 05:31:00
ECW had a solid show tonight, but I have a bone to pick with the crowd. They chanted "BORING BORING" during a good tag team match between the Major Brothers (a great looking team) and Elijah Burke and Marcus Cor Von. I'm not sure what they wanted to see...Extreme Expose got a better pop than these guys.Secondly, the match between Punk and Striker, a great match, had no fan participation at all. CM Punk was yelling at the crowd and trying to get them into it. Near the end of the match he even yelled out "GTS!" but nobody even seemed to know what he meant. It's like they followed his command and actually went to sleep. Some people in the crowd were actually booing CM Punk. This makes no sense to me, especially after seeing Bobby Lashley get such a huge pop for dominating three fantastic entertainers in the Sandman, Dreamer, and Balls. Lashley would be lucky if he could one day be as entertaining as these guys. The biggest conclusion that I can draw from tonight's ECW: CM Punk wi...
ECW Preview and Predictions
2007-06-05 22:15:00
Tonight's episode of ECW (the last before the upcoming WWE draft) should contain three elements in it:1. The dismantling of the New Breed2. The phasing out of Rob Van Dam3. The continued "dominance" of LashleyFirstly, I fully expect CM Punk to be moved in the WWE draft next week to either Smackdown or RAW. If this is the case, then WWE will have to wind down the feud between Punk and the New Breed, which should take place tonight. Maybe look for Burke and Cor Von to kick Striker out of the group and become a two-man team.Next, we should see WWE writing RVD out of the show. Randy Orton will probably come on and brag about "killing the legend" of Rob Van Dam.Lastly, WWE.com is advertising a 3-on-1 handicap match for Lashley's title, with Tommy Dreamer, Sandman, and Balls Mahoney being the team of three. One of two things will happen here: More likely, Lashley will win the match and retain his title, thoroughly frustrating Vince McMahon. The other, less likely possibility is tha...
Here Comes The Money
2007-05-24 01:41:00
If you have read the comments of the past few blogs, you might notice that I have mentioned Shane McMahon. I have mentioned how great he would be on any brand, but especially ECW.Shane has a history of extreme. He has fought in a hardcore match against Steve Blackman, a no holds barred match against the Big Show, a street fight against Kurt Angle, a street fight against Shawn Michaels, and an ambulance match against Kane. (There are many more including the handicap Hell In a Cell, and the Iron Man match against the Big Show, but I am just too lazy to get the links to them). He also takes as many risks as any extremist I've ever seen. Let's be real here. ECW needs reviving, and we have Shane McMahon who (correct me if I'm wrong) is one of two wrestlers who have ever gone coast to coast..the other being RVD (the best athlete in wrestling). How can WWE let his talent go to waste? How can they let him just appear in his father's corner? Yes I know he has a job other then wrestling (t...
