What to make of Bobby Jenks after most recent screw-up

It was always going to take a lot to make the big, enormous, hillbilly guy from Idaho with a blonde methlab chin beard relateable to me, even if he hadn't chosen P.O.D. as his walk-out song. He's dismissive to all criticism, constantly refers to his six years of service as if they contained more than a single-season of dominance, and can't understand why fans don't trust him in a way similar to an owner being perplexed why the dog he beats with a french dictionary runs away at the sight of him. If given the choice to swap out Jenks for another MLB closer, I would take it. I haven't made up my mind yet who it would be, but it wouldn't be Mariano Rivera (too old), Matt Capps (too Twinsy), and it certainly wouldn't be Carlos Marmol (walks are annoying). Part of the difficulty of assuming the closer role is being able to handle the criticism that comes with having the game on the line every time you go out....and possibly blowing the hell out of it. So the fact that Bobby Jenks tends to be a pretty irritable prick whenever his performance is questioned only greases the track toward fan derision and team demotion that his years of inconsistent play built.

Johnson said he wanted to do other things in live and said "football is not life." That's refreshing and glorious to hear, but maybe that is one of the reasons he went 29-66 since 2002.Robbie Caldwell will likely be the coach on September 4 when the teams square off, but it's obvious Vandy will use this to nail a top coaching talent with a big name.
