Bomb Squad Instrumentals - '07/08 Special!
2008-01-31 17:51:00 It's taken some time for me to post this, as I was waiting for a tracklisting from Bobby Hill - but he never got back to me so I'm just going to go ahead and post this. If you're as big a Public Enemy/Bomb Squad fan as I am, you won't be too pressed for a tracklisting. Every New Years Eve/Xmas Eve time, DC's local community Jazz station WPFW 89.3FM goes all out. Bobby Hill hosts this show called The Other Side Saturday nights, and he has been doing an instrumental PE/Bomb Squad special every year since 1990 or something. It's the coolest thing ever, and still do this day it's my favorite thing on the radio all year. So, sorry for the delay and lack of tracklisting this time around - but any fans of PE or Bomb Squad productions in general (Ice Cube, YBT, Son of Bezerk, Terminator X etc.) will love this. 2007-12-04 03:41:00 For those of you without access to CHC, here is Duane's second and I believe final response to the last KoiCast brouhaha.Back in the day there was a movement of sorts to raise money to help G. A lot of people came out and said they would donate X to her. (I had counted 4-6K in donations.. One person had said they would donate 2K.. didn’t know if they were serious thus the range.. some people said a stated amount.. if no amount was given I just assigned 50 bucks for an average..) I was one of those people. In fact I had made it known on blogs, talkcasts, and I had even told Casey of this fact. (this was around the time casye had FIRST decided to sell the blog with the proceeds going to G… he thought it was great… he said she DESERVED it for all the problems he had caused… Loss Mitt was on the call) The concerns were consistent. 2007-07-27 15:36:00 It's too bad the rest of our FM radio in the DC area blows. One dude named Bobby Hill has been doing these sick 3-hour Bomb Squad tribute shows every Christmas Eve for many years. It's a show called "The Other Side" and my brother & I caught it for the first time around 1990 on WPFW 89.3fm, a jazz station here in DC. That first show I heard blew me away - and although I'd been into PE before that, it was the show that sparked my obsession with Bomb Squad production on a musical level. Their shit is crazy. So even with all the other parts of the world with dope pirate FMs or just cool regular FM stations, I don't think anywhere else boasts an all-Bomb Squad instrumental radio special! Bobby Hill is a great dude for putting such a crazy concept in action, and keeping it in action for so many years.
