2008-03-27 04:15:00 Richie Sambora, guitarist for Bon Jovi, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Tuesday night in Laguna Beach, California. To make matters worse, there were two minors in the back seat of his Humvee so there are also possible child endangerment charges.According to Sgt. Jason Kravetz, "He was stopped for lane-straddling and weaving in lanes. The officer who contacted him smelled alcohol, got him out of the vehicle and performed a field sobriety test." Sambora failed the test and was administered a blood test once he reached police headquarters."At this point we're waiting for the blood test results. There is a possibility we will seek additional charges if, after speaking with the District Attorney's office, we feel the children were endangered."Sambora is scheduled to be in Harbor Superior Court in Newport Beach on May 7.

2008-02-14 08:28:00 Bon Jovi has hired Barbara Kopple to make a documentary on the band. The film will be shot during their upcoming tour, but will also include some archive material. Kopple previously made the Academy Award winner Harlen County U.S.A. and the Dixie Chick's Shut Up & Sing.Clive Davis is working with Whitney Houston on a new album that he is aiming for November. The pair have already recorded five tracks.A couple of passings of note. Schoolboy Cleve (aka Cleveland White) passed away back on the fifth at the age of 82. He played harmonica and guitar with a number of blues greats, including Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy and Sonny Boy Williamson.Freddie Bell, who was a major influence on an early Elvis Presley and appeared in the film Rock Around the Clock, passed away on Monday at the age of 77.
