Ask the Addict: Spoilers for BONES, HART OF DIXIE, SWITCHED AT BIRTH, ONCE
2012-01-20 19:54:00
Thanks to your recent post pointing to a free download of the series premiere, I’m officially hooked on SMASH. Which begs the question as to whether or not you have any scoop as to which actress the producers are going to reward with the coveted title role in Marilyn the musical? — Amanda The TV Addict: Despite the fact that this by no means indicates whose name — be it Megan Hilty’s Ivy or Katharine McPhee’s Karen — will actually appear on the marquee when the Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe actually does premiere, we can assure you that the answer to your question will be known by SMASH’s second fantastic episode of the season. Any scoop on the best show nobody’s watching, you know, PARENTHOOD? — Dave The TV Addict: This just in, there is a downside to success. Especially when the much-deserved notoriety Adam and Crosby are earning for restoring the luncheonette into a state-of-the-art recording studio brings with it a lif...
Ask the Addict: Spoilers for BONES, SHAMELESS, HART OF DIXIE, HOW I MET YOU
2012-01-13 20:06:00
After reading your fantastic live blog from yesterday’s “Bad-Ass Boys of the CW” TCA panel I have to ask, how exactly does one get your job? — Rachel The TV Addict: Simple. Step #1: Build a time machine. Step #2: Program said aforementioned time machine so that you may devote your formative years transfixed by the original BEVERLY HILLS 90210. Step #3: Spend what some might characterize as an “unhealthy” amount of time watching television. Got that? And since you brought up what was hands down the highlight of our week spent at the Television Critics Association Press Tour in Pasadena California, we thought we’d expand upon one of the most heartwarming moments from yesterday’s panel. Cue SUPERNATURAL star Jared Padalecki’s thoughts on impending fatherhood, “I’m very excited. I hope it doesn’t bleed over into my work because I have a boyish excitement about it. I’m almost worried about how excited I am. I fee...

It’s likely that your kids are being bullied, possibly everyday. They may be called names such as bums, stupid, or even ugly. Often times they may even be made to feel worthless and as though they can’t do anything right in this world. As adults, I’m sure many of you can relate to feeling beat... Read more »
Ask the Addict: Spoilers for NIKITA, BONES, GENERAL HOSPITAL, HAPPY ENDINGS
2011-12-15 21:13:00
Dying for some NIKITA intel after the recent doozy of a midseason finale. Any clues as to what happens next? — Dakota The TV Addict: While we don’t pretend to have any viable intel on the mother of all twists that went down in the most recent episode, we can report that all signs are pointing to Nikita doing a little soul searching in the New Year. And by soul searching, we of course mean confronting the sole woman who may-or-may-not be able to shed some light on Nikita’s long-awaited “origin story!” An origin story which in typical NIKITA fashion will come complete with flashbacks to an underground rehab clinic, murder, Mexico, plenty of gunplay, and some guy named Percy. Now that BONES is back in production, care to share the name and sex of Booth and Brennan’s baby? — Jane The TV Addict: As much as we would absolutely love to reveal both the name and sex of Booth and Brennan’s baby — which by the way go hand-in-hand — our love of stayin...
Ask the Addict: Spoilers for DEXTER, BONES, PERSON OF INTEREST, HART OF DIX
2011-12-08 19:34:00
Is there any chance at all that Sunday’s DEXTER makes up for last week’s snore of an episode? — Dillon The TV Addict:If by “make up for,” you mean offer one of the most unexpected and uncomfortable plot twists in the series’ sordid history, than well yes, Sunday’s penultimate episode of the season is not to be missed. That said, having still not shaken of the after-affects of one of the most spine-tingling and stupefying scenes DEXTER has ever dared to deliver, we do feel it necessary to warn viewers that on a scale of “icky” to “grossest thing you can ever imagine,” Sunday’s episode is off the charts! Any clues as to when Brennan will be delivering her baby on BONES? — Amy The TV Addict:While we’re not 100% sure of this, all signs are pointing to Brennan delivering her baby when BONES returns from its post-January hiatus. What’s more, in typical BONES fashion, Brennan’s delivery won’t be n...

The Art of the Press Release: Special BONES Edition!
2011-11-18 23:27:00
Continuing our penchant for highlighting press releases that cut through the clutter comes a few choice words from executive producer Stephen Nathan, who is about to give fans even more of a reason to get excited for this Thursday’s episode highly-anticipated episode of BONES. See for yourself, after the jump. Dear Privileged Few,   Even though the episode is still being finished (sound, color timing, VFX, etc), we wanted our friends in the press to see it before it airs. Yes, it contains the usual horrifying remains and bizarre collection of suspects, but this episode includes a bit more – while we are usually reluctant to use the “very special episode” moniker, we feel that David’s performance is truly impressive. With the phenomenal support of our brilliant Emily, as well as Ralph Waite and Tina Majorino, David has brought new life and dimension to Booth and to his relationship with Brennan. We all feel very fortunate this year to be able to take the s...

Ask the Addict: Spoilers for BONES, DEXTER, ONCE UPON A TIME, THE BIG BANG
2011-11-03 18:54:00
Absolutely loved Kristin Bauer’s guest appearance as Maleficent on Sunday’s ONCE UPON A TIME. That being said, any word on what other iconic Disney character fans might expect to see? — Amy The TV Addict: Forget words, we’ve got lyrics! And if you can place where the following ones come from you’ll have a pretty good idea as to what iconic fairytale character may-or-may-not be soon popping up on ONCE UPON A TIME next: “Little town, it’s a quiet village…” Oh, and on the off chance you were able to crack our not-so-challenging code, feel free to head to the comments below and share your casting suggestions. At the top of our list would be MODERN FAMILY’s Sarah Hyland! Is Mos Def’s Brother Sam really dead on DEXTER? — Dave The TV Addict: Much like Brother Sam, on the subject of his fate, we’re a man of few words. Except to say that what does-or-doesn’t-happen to Brother Sam has some seriously spooky implications f...
FUNNY BONES! Executive Producers [and Comedy Duo] Hart Hanson and Stephen N
2011-11-01 13:56:00
As any fan of BONES knows by now, the funny-bone that runs throughout the series is due to showrunners and executive producers Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan who not only passionately adore their show and the cast that star in it, they love poking fun at each other and everything else around them.  It is that distinct comedic voice backdropping their warm familial writing style that has drawn fans from around the globe into the BONES world.  In a recent conference call with press, Hart and Stephen candidly shared a few fun things to look forward to in the upcoming season. How will the Booth-and-Brennan relationship change this upcoming season now that it has been revealed that Booth is pregnant with Booth’s child? Can you talk about how the show is approaching that and how you made sure the balance of the show stayed intact? STEPHEN:  Well, really I think to us, it was somewhat organic.  We just continued to write Booth and Brennan in the same way, which were two completel...

Because Waiting Was the Hardest Part: We Ask BONES Showrunner Hart Hanson W
2011-10-25 20:19:00
A long time ago on a website a mere click away, a mysterious “blind item” was posted alluding to the fact that one popular TV couple’s happily-ever-after was being purposely delayed by a season at the request of network executives who were nervous about removing the “will-they-or-won’t--they” tension that was believed to have greatly contributed to the popularity of the show. Unfortunately, like most blind items, the identity of the show in question remained a mystery… Until now. Just kidding. Despite our best efforts, not to mention our Canadian connection, fellow countryman Hart Hanson wouldn’t go as far as to confirm that BONES was the subject of said aforementioned blind item. Except to say that waiting another year to bring Booth and Brennan together was among the plethora of options on the table. “The amount of debate that we had in the writer’s room, like when is this going to happen, is huge. We just talked about i...

Lazy Bones Chili + Halloween Recap
2010-11-01 23:33:00
It got a little cold hittin' the streets of Chicago for Butterfingers last night, even if it was for only 30 minutes on my own block. Solution? CHILI. The facts are these: PUSHING DAISIES may be gone, but its colorful costumes schemes have most definitely not been forgotten. Or at least that’s the impression we’re getting from these first look photos of Wayne Knight’s upcoming guest appearance on BONES that has the former SEINFELD star playing Jimmy Walpert III, a Willy Wonka-esque owner of Walpert’s Chocolate Factory who may-or-may-not be guilty of murder. “The Babe in The Bar,” airs November 18th on FOX, more first look photos of which can be seen after the jump.

Jeff Loomis: skull n' bones interview
2010-07-06 18:17:00
We are obviously here to talk about the new Nevermore album, "The Obsidian Conspiracy." Now it's only been out in the United States for a week, but the rest of the world has had the album a little longer, and the fans are really loving this record. How happy are you with the response so far? It's been pretty cool man. Obviously, this is a different Nevermore album from our point of view. The music is a little less complex, the songs are more structured, the chorus's come in quicker, I mean it's a more straight forward album than we've ever done. But yea, the response has been amazing. It's still a little early to see, but we can't complain so far with what we are hearing. We have been playing festivals in Europe recently, and we've already seen fans singing every word to the new stuff, so that's pretty nuts. In a lot of people's minds, "This Godless Endeavor" was the defining Nevermore album. After the success with that album, and the five year absence, did you feel any ...

The Lovely Bones: Latest theologically incorrect movie?

She finds herself in 'the in-between' a Heaven-like place, observing her family as they grieve for her. She also watches her killer who, having covered his tracks successfully, is preparing to murder again. Susie struggles to balance her desire for vengeance on Harvey and her desire to have her family recover from their loss. The name for that "in-between" is "Purgatory."* I haven't seen the movie, but if Susie watches in agony, then her experience in the description can be a kind of spiritual cleansing ("burning anger," perhaps). Reading the description got me to thinking about how Hollywood sometimes fudges afterlife orthodoxy for cinem...
