Boracay's Postcard-Perfect Diniwid Beach
2008-06-09 16:27:00
Hidden from Boracay's main White Beach by a cliff, Diniwid Beach is a secluded beach strip that offers more privacy to visitors unlike the crowded White Beach. It's a favorite destination of Europeans if they're not into the windy feel of Bulabog Beach and looking for a homey vacation place. The most prominent landmark of the beach is the exlcusive Nami Private Villas with majestic view of the place and the sea that you also see in postcards.picture of Diniwid Beach with Nami Private Villas in the backgroundit's on this beach where Caucasian tourists stay. at times, you won't feel you're in the Philippines with bikini babes frolicking or just walking on the beachLess commercialized and not crowded, the beach has its share of commercialism, though a simple ambulant vendor of ice creamThis is the recommended beach on Boracay Island that's away from the crowd, yet so near the commercialized place.---Resorts on Diniwid Beach:Nami Private Villas (namiboracay.ph)Microtel Inn & Suite...

2008-06-04 14:55:00
Boracay will soon be declared a national park. This, as President Gloria Macapagal?Arroyo is set to implement an unrepealed Martial Law Proclamation making Boracay a national park and placing its resources under the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA)’s control and administration. The move will be made as the Chief Executive wants to protect and preserve Boracay’s tourism value ...
What makes women go daring in Boracay?
2008-06-03 01:33:00
The name Boracay alone conjures images of leisure and pleasure at their best, specially partying tourists enjoying the Caribbean-like ambience and splendor of its beach front areas during early evenings complete with a happy mix of festive lights and Latin music. PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Boracay Tan No More
2008-05-29 07:29:00
Source: www.PinoyBlogoSphere.com - After our short visit to “Munting Talon”, we went back to our cottage then cooked “sinigang na bangus.” We even dipped on the beach when we arrived. That caused my Borcay tan into a not so good tan. Anyway, while we were cooking “sinigang na bangus”, our other colleague was assigned in grilling the stuffed bangus. Just in time for lunch, we were able to feast on our own cooked meal. We even ate on banana leaves which made the experience more fun. Sadly, we weren’t able to take pictures of our first lunch in Quezon. After lunch and our short rest, we went to our next destination “Balagbag Falls.” We took a tricyle on our way to the falls. On some parts of our ride, we were required to walk since the tricycle was having problems in carrying us all. Would you believe that we were all eight passengers in the tricycle? Two on the drivers back, five people on the inside and one on top of the tricycle. Isn’t that fun? Read more on this...

Source: www.PinoyBlogoSphere.com - After waiting for 15 minutes, we went to the beach to swim. We even forgot to take pictures. The place was spectacular or I should describe it as mesmerizing. The sand is almost powder white, the water is clear on some parts where there are no algae and the background of the beach is really wonderful. There were even yacht on the beach with different prints and color backgrounds on it. There’s a MYX yacht, VELVET, Yellow Cab and many more. By 11 A.M., we had our early lunch at the beach. We had rice, chicken from Andok’s and Coke Zero. After our quick lunch break, we went back to the beach. It was surprisingly not crowded the whole day at Boracay. Maybe people have preferred to go to the beach on weekends. I also noticed that goods in Boracay aren’t pricey at all. I was expecting an airport price but I was wrong. You can even eat 100 grams of lobster with rice for only 220 pesos. Cool huh! Read more on this article… Makoy is 26 yr old...

Source: www.PinoyBlogoSphere.com - Here is the first part of my Boracay escapade pictures. How I wish I can stay longer in that island. Hopefully next year I could visit again and explore the island. I wanna try the banana boat ride, parasailing and snorkeling. That would be fun! For those who don’t know Boracay is tropical located in the province Aklan. Boracay is one of the top tourist destination of the world. According to Wikipedia, “Boracay is the site of a world-class 18-hole par 72 golf course designed by Graham Marsh. Boracay Experience Part I
2008-05-08 06:11:00
By 6 A.M., we started preparing ourselves to go to Boracay. I took a bath then went to the dining to have my breakfast—rice and fried egg. I noticed that they didn’t even take a bath. We were cramming since they were waiting for us. At the last minute, I even changed my top shirt since I looked like a wrapped “suman.” It was a long ride to Caticlan. I think we made it to Caticlan around by 9 A.M. It was a fun ride though since they were talking gossips about their neighbors. What’s fascinating with the people here is the mentality of aristocracy. You can see big and nice houses even they were just vendors of “dilis” (small fish) and hog butcher while the richer people are living modest with their simple and small houses. Anyway, during the trip, my tummy ached and it felt like I need to go the comfort room. When we arrived in Caticlan, we bought our tickets for the boat ride. Since I’m with the locals, we bought our tickets for only 20 pesos. Tickets for non-locals a...
Caramoan the next Boracay?
2008-05-08 04:07:00
Just before the onset of summer, I wrote about some of the virgin beaches of the Philippines. Included in that list is the Caramoan Peninsula in Camarines Sur (below). Today it has lost its virginity when the Inquirer splashed Caramoan's image on its front page with an accompanying article touting it as "The Next Boracay." First, I can just imagine the hordes of people who'll now descend on Caramoan. From here on, forget about seeing pristine and deserted beaches. More like pristine and packed.Second, what is this obsession with naming every newly discovered beach as "The Next Boracay?" There is only going to be one Boracay, period.Instead, the Department of Tourism should play smarter. They should start touting these newly discovered beaches as the next Bahamas or Maldives or Bora-Bora. That way, they would be able to attract more foreign tourists. (Not that I'm for foreign tourists coming here in droves. I'm merely floating an idea.)From the looks of Caramoan, with its jagged ...

Mount Luho View Point , Boracay

A view deck made of bamboo is available at the peak for an unobstructed view.the Mt. Boracay is just 35 minutes away
2008-04-16 16:55:00
The belief that getting a flight to Boracay during peak season weekends is close to impossible is a myth! And I realized that myself after flying to Boracay on several fully-booked weekend flights as a chance passenger. It was a hectic weekend. I found out last Thursday night that I had to be in Boracay Friday and Saturday night. But I already had commitments Saturday morning. So what was the solution? I was a chance passenger on the 3 p.m. SEAIR flight and that wasn't a problem. Then I was to risk being a chance passenger again for the 6:45 a.m. flight back to Manila the next day, hopefully to get to my 9 a.m. appointment in Makati. It's a good thing SEAIR has 35-minute flights to and from Caticlan. Then it was another SEAIR flight to Boracay on the same afternoon to catch another event in the evening. I had to be back in Manila on Sunday since I had to catch a flight to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on Monday! As planned, I got on the 6:45 a.m. SEAIR flight back to Manila and made it to my ...

Summer Time!
2008-04-16 05:23:00
Summer life in the Philippines is so fiestarrific. It is one of my favorite seasons, second to Christmas. Because summer here is synonymous to beaches. Almost the entire summer season, you'd find beaches in fiesta atmosphere. The Philippines is very blessed with great summer getaways, from north to south and within the scattered islands, beaches abound. In the north, the Batanes islands welcome tourists and whale pods alike to its majestic hills and temperate waters. In La union, the famous hundred islands entice you to go island hopping. In Boracay, the pristine waters and white sand beaches attract thousands of visitors all year. Puerto Galera, another popular white sand island boasts its attractive diving sites. Down the south is Siargao beach, which is considered the surfing capital of the Philippines where international competitions are held. And then there is Bohol and Palawan islands, hosting the most diversified wildlife in nature. Their magnificent diving sites, beaches and ...
Boracay: D'Talipapa Fresh Seafood Market
2008-04-14 15:26:00
Most friends and officemates of Tutubi when asked about Boracay will answer it's expensive there particularly food but when asked where they eat, they'll always answer they eat out at various restaurants on the beachfront, hence the pricey and touristy price tags.Tutubi will share his recommended "cheap place to eat" in Boracay particularly fresh seafood at a price much less than those in beachfront restaurants a few meters away D'Talipapa, located near Station 2 and walking distance from White Beach particularly near Boracay Courtyard, Sunset Beach Resort and Culpepper Lodge, is a public market where you can buy souvenirs, vegetables, meat, and other food items at a low price. There's also a service called "paluto" where you can buy your own ingredients, mostly seafood, fish and meat and have them cooked for you for a small fee based on "per kilo" price similar to Manila's Dampa and Seaside buy-your-ingredients-and-we'll--cook-them-for-you paluto system.Boracay's D'Talipapa ...

Boracay Island in the Philippines
2008-04-14 03:01:00
I made a review about this fabulous place I've been. The pleasant place to stay with your family is at Boracay Island. You can find the best resorts and expereince the convenience it gives to every visitor. Complete resort amenities depend on the place you want to stay, but there are resorts in the island where you can find high technology amenities. Also, if you want more fun and excitement, you can join some fun activities like snorkeling, banana boat riding, scuba diving and a lot more. Furthermore, you can see the sparkling white sand as you walk around the shore. As you can see in the pictiure, it is a place for relaxation and fulfillment. Not all Filipinos experience to have their vacation because they can't afford or they rather spend their hard earned money to more important matters. If you like it, please vote here.
Budget Hotels In Boracay
2008-04-12 05:48:00
Its the time of the year again to visit boracay, well we can do visit boracay all year round but summer is the best way to if you wanna go star spotting and party all night long till 10 am. can't wait for my comeback to boracay this coming april 25 this time we are going in by boat from manila. for a change and i dont have that much budget for transpo hehe it wont be boring anyway as i will be with my friends plus i can document it all and share it here so people who are on a low budget can have some tips on how to go by boat. anyway whenever we go to boracay i prefer to stay in station 3 except for my first one. i prefer to stay in station 3 not only they have good quality hotels there at a reasonable price but i just love how i sunbathe without people walking around. plus few people choose to stay there so mostly foreigner who prefer to stay longer are the ones in station 3 so its nice and not so noisy. for this trip i really did some research about budget hotels so i hop from fo...
Tips for the Boracay first timer
2008-04-11 08:59:00
Sometimes I'm surprised to meet Pinoys who can very well afford to have a vacation in Boracay but haven't been there yet.So if you're one them and you're thinking of going there this summer, here are some tips for the first time visitor on the island.First, the only place to stay is Seawind. Why?It's located at Station 1, the best part of Boracay's famous White Beach. There, the beach is at its widest and is also the cleanest part of the four-kilometer long coast.Notice the resort (above photo). It's tucked within coconut trees and built in the traditional beach house motif. Compare that to the swanky and ridiculously overpriced Discovery Shores resort (photo below). That thing is a monstrosity. Anyone who is stupid enough to stay at Discovery Shores is clearly not in Boracay for the beach, but rather for the privilege of staying there, which is really sad, in my opinion.Because come on, Boracay's only attraction is the beach, not the hotels! Second, always use Willy's Rock...
Boracay wildlife
2008-04-10 05:26:00
Contrary to popular belief, Boracay hosts some awesome migratory species. Below are some photos of them caught in their natural habitat. But let me caution wildlife photographers, especially the amateur ones. These species can come down hard on you if they ever catch you taking their photograph. Their male partners can be especially territorial and won't think twice about ripping you apart if they catch you taking an interest on their mate.Best if you employ telephoto lenses at all times.
From Bangkok to Boracay
2008-04-06 16:08:00
After slogging through Bangkok traffic for three weeks shooting Coke's latest TV ad, after routinely being whisked from one location to another, after going for 24 hours without sleep at times, I needed a break. And so I find myself here, frolicking in the clear waters of Boracay. Yey! This is one of the most enjoyable Boracay trips I've had, after having gone tired of the wild, tourist-infested, gray and car-choked city that is Bangkok. I feel like a cheap version of those super rich jet setters. Jetsetting but not quite, not in the real sense of the word. But what the heck, I love it here. Ang sarap dito!

Boracay, Philippines!

It's summer time here in the Philippines. Most of us are now thinking of beautiful beaches, blue seas, clean air and perhaps a vibrant nightlife all combine to provide a great holiday experience.Boracay is my summer dream destination. For sun worshippers, the soft white sands and the near deserted coves all around is a delightful treat. There are a number of spas on the island, where you can revive your mind and body after long weeks at work.Boracay at day timeAt duskArtistic sand castleThis small island has everything you need, you can shop at many souvenir shops and the markets are laden with fresh sea foods such as lobsters, fish, crabs and shrimps! You can enjoy bliss in Boracay Island without really making holes in your pocket. Alternative beaches to Boracay
2008-02-08 06:45:00
My pre-summer posts continues, the better to give you enough time to book hotels and flights just before the mad scramble come Holy Week. Now Boracay will remain the crown jewel of all the islands in the Philippines until its twin paradise is found among the country's 7,107 islands.Below are several alternatives which I've fortunately been able to visit and can definitely say matches Boracay's beauty.Top picks would be Bohol followed by Maira-Ira beach in Pagudpud although Maira-Ira is just that, a beach. To reach it, you have to travel 15 minutes by car from tourist-friendly Saud Beach over a winding dirt road. So it's best to bring an SUV.There are no resorts and there are no facilities on Maira-Ira. Creative Guild in Boracay, February 29
2008-01-30 03:36:00
Beer-guzzling, ego-centric and awards-obsessed Filipino advertising creatives will invade Boracay on February 29 for the Creative Guild Awards.Personally, I'd rather not have an advertising awards show on the island. Any beach would have sufficed, but Boracay, no. For me the island is still the perfect refuge, inspite of the overcrowding and the pollution that are threatening to ruin it (if not yet).Ads are the last thing I want to think about when in Boracay. Advertising can be a rough, dirty game, especially when it comes to awards. All those bickering, hooting and sneering. They don't belong in a paradise island. That's why win or not, I won't ever attend an awards show in Boracay.

Puka Beach in Boracay
2008-01-14 08:55:00
There's more to Boracay than White Beach. Yesterday morning, we were scheduled to go snorkeling and have a lunch picnic in Puka Beach. But since it was raining, that did not materialize. But we went to Puka Beach anyway and had lunch indoors at a nearby restaurant called Tesebel Ihaw-Ihaw.Puka Beach is named after the puka shells which are abundant in the beach. Puka means "hole" in Hawaiian and these shells are pieces of the cone snail shell and are so named because of the hole which occurs naturally in the shell fragment. They have been popular material for necklaces, bracelets and anklets and there are a lot sold by the beach. You could see nearby Carabao Island, Romblon which they say is the next big thing. I heard they are planning to build a better airport there to serve Boracay as well as the future development on Carabao Island.I didn't stay too long since I had to rush back to Manila while the rest of the group stayed behind. So after a souvenir photo, I left for the hotel...

Cocomangas Boracay delivers pizza!
2008-01-13 16:30:00
I was quite worried that I could not get a midnight snack from where I was. It was raining and walking to White Beach to get some grub was out of the question. The restaurants in Diniwid Beach were closed by this time as well. But there was no reason to fret since Cocomangas delivers pizzas up to 2 a.m. anywhere in Boracay! There were so many kinds to choose from. I asked the lady taking my order to give me a sampling of their best-sellers. But when I found out that their pizzas were the same price for all kinds (XL - PHP482, 16 slices; L - PHP360, 8 slices; and S - PHP228, 4 slices), I got an XL-sized Halo-Halo which was everything on it! And no, I didn't eat the whole pizza. I shared it with Abe, Anton and Lauren.Cocomangas PizzaTel No. +63 36 2884455
