Henley is one of the safest seats for the Conservatives and it looks likely that Oxfordshire councillor John Howell will be a shoe in. He will be standing against Labour's candidate Richard McKenzie, the Lib Dems will be fielding Stephen Kearney, the Greens - Mark Stevenson and UKIP are putting up Chris Adams. UPDATE: The Libertarian party is also putting up a candidate, Ian Parker-Joseph (thanks to Harry in the comments).As Boris steps down, Barack Obama steps up and announces himself the "the Democratic nominee for president of the United States". John, a member of the Oxfordshire county cabinet and the representative for Dorchester and Berinsfield, was selected ahead of Ann Ducker and John Cotton. Also a parish councillor in Warborough, John was made an OBE in 2000.The election should take place in the next two or three weeks.
