Research Into The Amount Of Tea Tax Inspiring Boston Tea Party
2007-12-17 23:05:00
On Saturday I posted a first hand account of the Boston Tea Party written by George Hewes, an impoverished colonial cobbler and member of the Sons of Liberty. In that article I stated that it was a 3% tax on tea that inspired the famous Boston Tea Party. Sara left the following ...
Ron Paul?s Tea Party 07 Fundraiser Final Update - Over $6 Million Raised
2007-12-17 07:56:00
Here’s the chart of yesterday’s fundraiser compared to his November 5th fundraiser: It looks like he wound up on the low end of my prediction - right above $6 million.  The site apparently stopped updating around midnight due to an overload on the server, so I’m not seeing a 100% final picture.  Hopefully it’ll update by ...
Ron Paul Finishes with Over $6 Million on Second Money Bomb
2007-12-17 07:18:00
What better record to break than your own. Ron Paul broke his own record for a single day, which was $4.3 million on Guy Fawkes Day, today by taking in over $6 million dollars. Paul also broke John Kerry?s record breaking day of $5.7 million. December 16th was the 234th anniversary of the Boston Tea Party which is why supporters chose this date. The ?Paulites? even rented a blimp which flew around over South Carolina with ads for Ron Paul on each side. One side of the blimp read, ?Who is Ron Paul? Google Ron Paul.? The other side said, ?Ron Paul Revolution.? Paulites hope to use a blimp in New Hampshire before the January 3rd primary as well. Jesse Benton, a campaign spokes person for Ron Paul said that the median donation from supporters was $50 dollars based on credit card donations coming in during the day. Ron Paul finished the day with $17.9 million dollars for the quarter. The campaign said that they needed to raise $12 million dollars this quarter ...
Ron Paul Money Bomb Update (Boston Tea Party Event)
2007-12-17 00:11:00
At 12:00 AM this morning Ron Paul started out with about $11,550,000 million (estimated) in donations. Currently he is at about $15,636,394 million as of 6:05 PM EST. With only 6 hours to go in the day he is well short of the organizers goal of $10 million but they have managed to raise over $4.1 million so far. I am projecting that they will end up with about $6 million to $7 million when the night is over. You can see the live numbers come in on the chart below which is incredible. No other candidate offers this kind of live system for their fundraising numbers.

Boston Tea Party and Ron Paul?
2007-12-16 14:55:00
On December 16th, 1773, American colonists entered Boston Harbor and climbed aboard British ships. Once aboard, the colonists proceeded to throw all the crates of tea overboard in protest to being taxed without being represented in Parliament. Large amounts of American colonists also began to boycott tea imported by the British government or their companies. Some believe that these actions helped stem the American Revolution a few years later. Fast forward 234 years and you will find a tea party of another kind. Ron Paul, a Republican candidate popular on the Internet, has organized a fund raising campaign. The goal is to gather donations from citizens around the country interested in changing how America operates. Ron Paul is on record for wanting to pull the troops out of foreign wars (i.e. Iraq and Afghanistan), tighten our borders and above all, reduce government involvement in our lives. He feels the government places too many restrictions on our daily lives and look...
Ron Paul Prepares for Second Money Bomb
2007-12-16 10:11:00
RonPaul2008.com screen shot from early December 16, 2007.RonPaul2008.com is prepared for the long awaited December 16, 2007 fundraiser. They have even launched a new live money ticker which gives visitors more information than before. Sunday is the second big donation day planned by his supporters. December 16 is the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party which supporters view as a significant date for freedom and was picked to be the next major fundraising date. The first major fundraiser organized by his supporters produced $4.3 million dollars in one day alone. This fundraiser has had over a month of planning compared to the last one that was planned in only a few days. Organizers hope to raise $10 million dollars on Sunday. Others think it might be between $6 million and $10 million dollars. However much it ends up being at the end of the day it will be another record breaker for the Texas congressman. Paul has raised $922,000 dollars this week from 2,5...
Ron Paul?s Tea Party 07 Fundraiser Update Number 1
2007-12-16 08:27:00
OK, it’s been nearly 2 hours now, and here’s the live chart: At this point, I’m estimating that he’ll wind up around 6-8 million, but this is an early estimate comparing how he started today and the 5th and how he ended up the 5th. Although Ron Paul isn’t the candidate that I’m voting for (I’m ...
The Point of No Return
2007-12-16 04:33:00
On this day in history 234 years ago an event occurred which impacted the life of everyone alive today.     The Boston Tea Party has been called the ?point of no return? for the birth of democracy. The chain of events which was started by this act of civil disobedience on December 16, 1773 changed the future for the ...
First Hand Account of The Boston Tea Party
2007-12-16 03:23:00
George Hewes was a member of the band of “Indians” that boarded the tea ships on December 16, 1773. His recollection of the event was published some years later. We’ll join his story as the group makes its way to the tea-laden ships- “It was now evening, and I immediately dressed myself in the costume ...
December 16th, the anniversary of the Boston Tea Party, is the date for the
2007-11-12 00:22:00
Oh, man, this one is gonna be even more fun than November 5th. December 16th is the day HP'ers. A money bomb for Ron Paul will explode the GOP race. Be a part of it.Ron Paul may have raised $4 million thanks to the blogs on the 5th, but he got millions more worth of free press - he was EVERYWHERE this past week. And he's now raised as of tonight $8 million the quarter. Wow. John, Rudy and Mitt must be pissed! But just wait until December 16th. A day that will go down in US political history.Folks, if you ever want to see the power of one individual with an idea, just look at what Trevor Lyman, who never worked for a campaign before, who isn't very political, did with a moment of inspiration and a great idea when he put up the November 5th money bomb website and banners (need more banners btw). One man, with a great idea, which then caught fire on communities like HP, vaulted Ron Paul to the top tier of Republican candidates. Damn, that's beautiful. Wish I had thought o...

The 1773 Boston Tea Party
1969-12-31 19:00:00
In history class, we learned a great deal about the history of America. The Boston Tea Party was one major turning point that defined America as we know it today. We are strong, defiant, capable, and know what is fair and just. The British were looking for some way to recover some of the money they had lost during the war between the French and Indians some ten years earlier. In the years just prior to the Boston Tea Party, the crown had created numerous attempts to gain back control of the governments. It started with the 1765 Stamp Act, the 1767 Townsend Acts, the 1770 Boston Massacre, and culminated with the 1773 Tea Tax. Because colonists took a stand and refused to pay any taxes, the Parliament was forced to retract all taxes and so they did, except one. You guessed it they left the Tea Tax. This was nothing more than a mere demonstration of the rights and ability Parliament felt they had to impose taxes. It was in May of the year 1773, Parliament decided to implement a trick...
