Off-Topic: Luxating Patella for our Boston Terrier
2007-12-13 17:18:00
Hi everyone! I'm not one for making off-topic posts, but I thought it would be useful to pass on this information as it might be affecting my posting schedule in the future (and we can always use the extra good thoughts). The picture at the beginning of this post is our little Boston Terrier - one of our two dogs. His name is Gordon and he has a lot of attitude. He adores playing with any of his many, many toys, loves to give kisses, and is sure that he weighs at least 100 pounds and is 5 feet tall (human or dog, we're not sure). Gordon is a lot of dog in a small package.Over the past few days, Gordon has had some severe diarrhea, but aside from that, he's been right as rain. Last night we came home to find our house filled with stink and mess, and our Great Dane standing over Gordon, who was doing his "sexy pose" (sitting with his back legs kicked out to the side), but looking very un-sexy. We called him over to us to go outside, and the Dane wouldn't leave him...and Gordo...
Boston Terriers As A Pet
2007-07-15 04:52:00
Considering having a dog and taking care of it is an awesome responsibility.  The Boston Terrier has to be my favorite. They have that surprised  and "so ugly it's cute" look!  These great dogs are meant to be inside dogs.  That's just the beginning of learning to care for them.  A great place to find some tips for raising these animals and making them a part of your family is the Boston Terriers Dog Guide Article.  Here is a place to find out about their energy, barking level, exercise needs, and life expectancy, among other things.  These beautiful animals need care and love like any other pet.  But they also need daily exercise and special care.  They are not dogs you can leave outside or think they'll take care of themselves.  Boston Terriers need love and attention.  Great with children and older people, they are very warm companions.    Always research before getting an animal to take care of.  All...

Boston Terriers

Maybe I should start a new series of posts about different dog breeds. I love learning about different breeds. My favorite are the herding breeds, but there is one group of dogs that has so many varieties it’s amazing. That’s the terrier group. I have been watching a number of different terriers in agility lately. Up in Blackfoot I was completely impressed by a very fast, accurate, cute and sweet Boston Terrier. I will admit it, terriers scare me! I was just admitting this to a friend earlier today, as a matter of fact. Oh they don’t scare me like maybe they would bite me or threaten me in any way. Instead they scare me in that they are a handful, and would be a challenge to train. And heck, my border collie is challenge enough for me right now. My obedience trainer has often told me that she wants her next dog to be a Boston Terrier. She has Belgian Malinois now. She says she would love to train a different breed of dog, a small dog, to expand her knowledge of...
Boston Terriers, Tica and Spud
2007-03-07 07:02:01
Dr. Jungle says… “I’ve usually found it best to take your cuteness in small doses. Taking it all at once can cause cuteness overload, kinda like when you eat icecream too fast, your head hurts from the cold. So be forewarned, while looking at Tica and Spud be careful not to view it too fast ...
Boston Terrier for sale

I've started seriously reconsidering the whole "housebroken" thing. I'm really starting to see the advantage of permanently paper-training dogs. Not that we have anywhere in the house that could be devoted to "piddle pads," or that we'd really want to deal with them.On the other hand, I wouldn't be awakened at 2:30 a.m. by a Boston Terrier Who Shall Remain Nameless (I'm lying - it was Ceilidh) scratching at my door because she really, really had to go out. Because Heaven Forfend she should actually go out when I told her to before bedtime. Noooooooooooooooooooooooo. Because at 11 p.m. when we went to bed it was a balmy 10 degrees F. And at 2:30 a.m. it was 89 million degrees below zero. And she simply cannot go out into the cold, cruel world by herself.I really do love the little beast. But sometimes I wonder why.
