I never would have thought Brandi Carlile would be able to maintain that amaazingly huge voice from the studio during a live performance, but she pulls it off flawlessly, and here her voice sounds even better live than it does on the album. 2007-09-20 22:15:00 I tivoed the Viva Las Vegas Elvis special the other night just to watch the Brandi Carlile and Chris Issac performance. Man, that girl never disappoints. If you’re not listening to her, you should be. I’ve already said it, but the concert I went to this summer where she opened with and then sang with the Indigo Girls was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Those girls wail. On You Tube, there’s a wealth of bootleg videos - presumably made by people much braver than me, sneaking their camera phones and camcorders into concerts. Here’s a great version of Brandi’s Cannonball.

When I first heard this song I had to hear it a dozen more times in a row because it describes a very specific message that I can relate to. A message that conveys perfectly the closure I have had from a certain relationship I was in a very long time ago. I doubt any other song can describe how I feel now like this one. I very recently discovered the music of Brandi Carlile, her voice is incredible. In this song her vocals are delicate and simple, which compliment the melodies nicely. Brandi Carlile Returns With New 'Stories'
2007-02-28 19:07:01 Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile will release her sophomore album, The Story, April 3 via Columbia. The 13-track set sports guest appearances by the Indigo Girls on the song Cannonball as well as drumming from session ace Matt Chamberlain. It was produced by T-Bone Burnett. The title track is already available for sale on iTunes and is going for radio adds now. In support of the album, Carlile will hit the road for a spring tour, beginning with acoustic sets March 30 in Seattle and the following evening in Portland, Ore.
