Broncos 16 ? 49ers 24: Studs and Duds
2010-11-01 23:25:00 Analyzing player performances from the Denver Broncos‘ 16-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers Sunday, highlighting the good and the bad. Stud: Brandon Lloyd Forget Brandon Marshall, we’ve got Brandon Lloyd. Lloyd, who leads the NFL in receptions of 40 or more yards, had another big game, 7 catches for 169 yards and his fourth Touchdown ...

Millions and millions and millions is all it will cost to pay Brandon Lloyd
2008-02-28 19:38:00 The Washington Post: His release, long anticipated, does not save Washington any immediate salary cap space, with the free agency and trade period beginning at 12:01 a.m. Friday, but will create additional room this June. Lloyd, who could not be reached to comment, was designated a June 1 cut for salary cap purposes, executive vice president Vinny Cerrato said, which means his salary cap figure of $4.2 million will drop to $1.8 million on June 1. (Lloyd will count $5.5 million in dead cap space in 2009.) I tend to agree with Ben that heaping big blame needs to be placed on Lloyd for his own inability to do anything right, though I'm still pissed at the team's inability to sniff out a problem child before dishing him millions and trading away some draft picks. I understand money is tight this year, but I'd just as soon cut ties immediately rather than spread out the moneys we'll be penalized for Lloyd over the next two years. Generally it always makes sense to pay tomorrow what y...

Brandon Lloyd no longer a Redskin
2008-02-27 01:00:00 Brandon Lloyd was cut, released, let go, scape goated, discharged, etc. CptChaosSidekick said it and indeed, the national nightmare is finally over. Redskins.com: Lloyd's two-year stint with the Redskins proved to be a disappointment. He was never able to establish himself in the Redskins' offense. Redskins Insider: As expected. The final stats: 25 receptions, zero touchdowns. For $10 million in guaranteed money. Ryan Wilson at Fanhouse: And so ends another chapter in the forgettable 2006 Redskins off-season. Safety Adam Archuleta barely made it through one season before getting shipped to Chicago (after collecting $10 million in guarantees, of course), and now Lloyd, the guy some Redskins coach/front-office type thought would complement Santana Moss nicely and give Jason Campbell another deep weapon, is free to work on his freestylin' skillz 24/7. DC Sports Bog: Lllllllllloyd... Ouch. Redskins 360: The moody receiver was arguably the biggest bust in Redskins history. He cost Was...

Brandon Lloyd is in no danger of losing his ?ocho cinco?
2008-02-13 07:44:00 The irony of Chad Johnson’s untradeability is that it was created by the two times the Bengals renegotiated his contract to keep him happy. Trading Chad Won’t Be Cheap

Brandon Lloyd's job safe, Omar Stoutmire's, not so much
2007-10-01 19:28:00 Per Redskins Insider: Looked like Omar was saying his goodbyes in the locker room this morning and the players are all assuming Keenan McCardell will be signed. (Found out that Omar was informed he is being released, but that if he's available and any safeties get hurt, he would be re-signed. they like him a lot but he's caught in a numbers crunch. Defining the number crunch, we have six safeties including Stoutmire, and I guess we only need five. Vernon Fox and Reed Doughty are that good. Then again, we do have Pierson Prioleau who I feel comfortable backing up both Taylor and Landry, although neither of them will suffer injury since they are really robots. The number not-crunch saving Brandon Lloyd at WR is that we have 5 without Keenan McCardell, but Santana Moss might be a lot more injured than we thought thus necessitating a 6 man lineup. From the above RI article: Also, Santana Moss was far less than certain that his groin injury would be healed in time for Sunday's game an...

Question: Antwaan Randle-El or Brandon Lloyd as #2 WR
2007-08-08 16:36:00 As the results from our last poll are now obsolete as the team has cut Casey Bramlet, I figured that we needed a new poll. I'm not feeling especially creative, so we'll stick with training camp battles, this time focusing on wide receiver. But first, results from the last poll: Casey Bramlet 26 votes - 52 % Jordan Palmer 16 votes - 32 % Todd Collins 6 votes - 12 % Other 2 votes - 4 % Poor Casey Bramlet was a favorite to reader(s) but not to the organization, though admittedly this is one of the smaller sampling sizes worked with lately. We were overcome by events, I'm afraid. Jordan Palmer pulls in at two and his chances look bright as ever, as Bramlet was cut in order to give Jordan more reps (or so they alleged). Todd Collins did not get much love, and neither of you just-have-to-be-different folks cared to justify your "other" vote in the comments section. The new poll question will be: Who do you think should b...

No Brandon Lloyd bashing from me today
2007-05-16 21:36:00 I've been up and down on Lloyd from day one. Big time up on him in virtue of his refreshingly well-written training camp journal circa last season. And then long periods of disappointment for his failed on-field product, which I've come to accept as par for the course. But today, Brandon Lloyd gets praised: During his stay in the Caribbean, Lloyd will be devoting his free time to work with "Stay-Focused," a unique non-profit organization that offers mobility-challenged persons the opportunity to become certified SCUBA divers. Lloyd will join this very special group of kids as they embrace the opportunity to leave behind their wheelchairs and explore the world beneath the ocean's surface. "I am really looking forward to experiencing the strong will and determination of these kids," said Lloyd. "For them to be able to spend this time participating in an activity without concern for their disabilities is going to be extremely rewarding and I'm really excited to be doing this along...
