The runner-up finish was Brant's fourth consecutive. Brant is the second high-profile figure athlete to withdraw from the 2008 IFBB Figure International in the last week. Valerie Waugaman, a gladiator on the NBC hit show American Gladiators, officially withdrew earlier in the week.Brant's withdrawal leaves her competitive future in doubt, as rumors were abound that the past IFBB Figure Olympia (2007) could be her last. Those rumors intensified after Brant fell to 7th place, placing out of the top three for the first time in her career. Parker died Sunday at a nursing facility in Lynchburg of complications from Alzheimer’s disease and a stroke he suffered last year, said Kathy Kei, an editor of “The Wizard of Id” at Creators Syndicate.
