Happy that I'll have my wife and daughter back but still sad because I know how much Caitlyn loves acting and Sheri loves helping out.The play went awesome! Seven performances in all without a hitch. Even the finale on Sunday when I took Sheri's spot as "Crew Chief" so she could watch from the audience. Caitlyn was amazing. After each show she was showered with flowers, congratulations from the adults and autograph requests from the young kids. She was beaming. Lord thank you for the awesome gifts you have given her and let her discover new ways to use these to glorify Your Name!With all the craziness this past weekend I've completely neglected my Life Journal and the fact that I'm feeling guilty really shows the significant impact it has had on my walk.

2007-02-16 15:49:00 Having read and enjoyed the novel in my youth, and then seeing the trailers for Bridge to Terabithia now, I was concerned that the entire novel had been changed into a Lord of the Rings-type film, completely geared towards the pre-teen set, and that the entire thrust of the novel had been inexplicably and utterly changed.Thus, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the film. Not only do they stick closely with the novel, the entire film is treated with love and care. But then, it should be, as David Paterson, the son of the woman that wrote the book, helped write the screenplay. In fact, David’s mom, Katherine Paterson, wrote the book for David when he was young and based the main character and some events on David’s life. The story follows Jesse Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) and his budding friendship with the new girl in school, Leslie Burke. Jesse is an outsider, even in his family. The flick is a decent adaptation of the ‘78 children’s book, telling the story of two outcast pre-teens who become friends and crown themselves king and queen of an imaginary kingdom. It sounds a bit dumb, but the book and movie are more about their friendship than the imaginary land of Terabithia. If you watched the trailer, though, you’d think that this was a goddamn kids’ version of PAN’S LABYRINTH. The trailer is full of fairies and monsters and ogres and castles, but the movie’s got, maybe, twenty minutes of that stuff. Tops. This Hollywood epidemic - deceptive trailers - has really pissed me off over the years.
