Unlike the Colston Hall seating which remains an issue for me.The seats exacerbate my sciatica and you are forced to sit down.... ouch my leg hurts... We saw the show last year and were really looking forward to it booking the tickets early. We were somewhat dismayed to see that Oliver Wakeman was being replaced by the rather lack luster Geoff Downes ... but this is Yes so surely the songs will carry them through. Steve Howe to mind just gets better and better. I've been constantly amazed at this guys ability, versatility and originality with the stringed instruments. Tonight is no exception and we're also treated to an acoustic set, which the audience adores. The singer... whose name escapes me in this dark hour, is not on form... much better last time around... 2011-09-25 18:42:00 Just back from the Bristol Guitar show. Lots of nice guitars, Alex Hutching, Jamie Humphries, Adam Nolly Getgood, Pete G, Jaden Rose, Ben Wilshire, Dave Reeves and more. Missed Alex Hutching playing.. but did have a quick chat. Alex really enjoyed the Bangkok shows with Jack Thammarat. Alex continues to work on material for his upcoming CD's, looking like 2012 being a release window. Jamie Humphries was great, very funny anecdotes in his presentation. In addition the Djental men of Red Sea Fires, Adam Nolly Getgood, Pete G, demoed some tracks live, sounding awesome, even fighting over the background music. Adam travels to the USA to work with Misha Mansoor on the upcoming Periphery release. Nice to catch up with Jaden Rose too, guitars looking stunning as ever. They followed that up with a 4-3 win in 12 innings last night. Bristol is used as the second rookie league team for the White Sox, Great Falls gets the more experienced players, and the Appalachian League features a lot of affiliates that receive more experienced players. As a result the BriSox usually struggle to compete, but that could change this year. The Sox drafted a large number of college players this year and that should show up in the win column for Bristol.

Greg Howe comes across as a humble likable fellow, if a little jet lagged. After having about 45 minutes sleep, Greg is still able to get his chops together enough to give us some of his magic. He plays over some classic tunes and displays his trade mark hammer-ons from nowhere, classic vibrato and extensive use of ploy-rhythmic cascades of notes. After the warm up he gets straight on to bring his wisdom to the assembled guitar crowd. He's not a one trick pony and he's got the know-how to let any guitarist worth their salt get to a higher level. The new company is a collaboration between the former Music Live manager, Jason Hunt, and Jason Castle, the owner of guitar specialist distributor, High End Guitars, bringing together some 23 years of combined experience in guitars and events.
