Where I'm From - in poetry
2008-05-13 02:22:00 My Great-aunt, "Big Clara" (the tall one),as opposed to "Little Clara" (the shorter).Colleen, of Loose Leaf Notes left a comment on my blog yesterday and I found myself at her blog, thanking her and having a nose around to see what she is all about. She is a brilliant writer, who writes from the heart and writes in such a way as to immediately draw you into her world. I have added her to my links in the sidebar. At Colleen's blog, I read a poem entitled "Where I'm From". Upon reading it I began to wonder if she would think it too bold of me if I should attempt a similar type of poem since it was such a wonderful expression of who she is. I was pleased to notice that she actually attributed this poem to another person's blog and that there is in fact a template for anyone who wants to write one like it. I can see Michelle Hix of Sont les mots... taking this on, or perhaps Fenny . Here is the link to the template and a bit of the history of the origin of the piece. You can rea...

British Army skill & marksmanship beat 'Jehad Jeep'
2007-11-21 20:59:00 In a dramatic close call that sounds like something straight out a Hollywood film script, British soldiers foiled a suicide attack.A Taliban terrorist attempted to drive his explosive laden Toyota into a convoy of British patrol vehicles. Only quick thinking and super marksmanship prevented what could have been a major loss of life. The Ministry of Defence News site reports:"The first Pinzgauer swerved to avoid the car and the top cover sentry, Corporal Lee Wilbor, fired a single shot through its window, causing the driver to collapse at the wheel. But the Toyota carried on, swerving erratically into the path of the rear vehicle, whose soldiers opened fire causing the car to veer out of the way before it dramatically exploded." British army looking to create invisible tanks
2007-11-03 21:20:00 Well it looks like it's not only the US military looking forward to crazy sci-fi warfare. The british army is also looking to create invisible war machines, while unlike the US that was looking to create invisible invulnerable healing soldiers. The british army is looking to create invisible tanks. The design at the moment they are pondering for the british tanks is similar to the Susumu Tachi jacket from a few years ago, a camera and projector setup throws a projection of the surroundings onto the tank letting you "see through it". Now I don't forsee anyone cracking out the popcorn machine and celebrating any time soon considering the concept is no where near as advanced and complete as the other invisibility cloaks, also known as REAL invisibility. It's not the futuristic stuff that DARPA is working on but it should somewhat work. It won't block radar or anything fancy like that but it will make the tanks harder to visibly see, but then again their the whole h...

British Army (British Army Dragoons) , Is This The Way To Am
