Brett Favre To Tampa Bay Buccaneers - NFL Network

Brett Favre To Tampa Bay Buccaneers - NFL Network According to NFL Network, there's a good chance that Green Bay Packers quarterback Bret Farve is going to be traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers within 24 hours. So Mark September 28th, 2008 as a day for the Bret Farve Day Against Green Bay. What a story, especially if he wins and wins big.
The Buccaneers CUT a QB!!! See Ya Later Bruce Gradkowski!
2008-05-31 05:12:00
Today the Bucs released QB Bruce Gradkowski. Better to do it now to give the kid a chance to catch on somewhere else. This leaves us with only 24 QB's left on the roster. JScott: I love the 24 QB's comment, hilarious. I don't know about you guys, but I'm shocked by this move. Not that it shouldn't have happened, but that it happened so soon. I think its great. Obviously it sucks for Bruce, but its the thing to do and like my man above said, it gives him time to find another team if there is such a thing. I can't believe Chucky let one go... now let's hope he doesnt miss the congestion and add another QB... It's not looking to good for Simms: Garcia, Griese, McCown, Johnson.... Simms. I'm pulling for Chris to beat out McCown, but its going to be tough. He's got the ability though..

Tampa Bay Buccaneers OTA Nuggets, News, and Rumors
2008-05-22 13:00:00
Former USF WR Amarri Jackson knows special teams is where he can at least catch on with the Bucs, he's also nervous around the veterans That's something you don't hear a whole lot of, professional athletes being nervous amongst their peers. I guess that happens when a player like Derrick Brooks is telling you how to approach the weight room... If a couple receivers don't shine early on, Jackson might have a better shot to bypass special teams than he realizes Earnest Graham continues to miss Voluntary Workout after Voluntary workout. He's supposedly holding out for more money.. Valrico Rick from the Bucs Beat comments section nails Graham's situation on the head. He compares Earnest to Errict Rhett of Bucs lore.. Rhett had even more success than Graham in one season (amassing over 1200 yards), his agent advised him to hold out for more money, in stepped Rookie RB Warrick Dunn and thats all she wrote... Like Rick points out, guess who's back in a Bucs uni?? exactly Amarri Ja...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor to get under way
2008-05-18 16:00:00
Back in February I ran a poll on whether this fan base thought the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should have a Ring of Honor, 90% of the fans voted yes to the idea. Several of you have clamored to construct our own Ring of Honor? Well let?s do it. I think we should construct it as such: The organization only spans back to 1976, so rather than picking one player every 8 years as previously suggested, let?s pick player(s) from each decade (in other words segment it to the 70?s, 80?s, and so forth). I know a couple of you worried about having a Ring of Honor of over 50 strong, with a overall team record of (196-303-1) I don?t think we?ll have that problem, though I could be wrong. I?m open to criteria for the Ring of Honor as well, but I figured we would just go on statistics and fan recognition. If you want it more sophisticated we can do that. I wanted to preface this task with the fact that I?ve been a fan since 1996 (13 years old). Prior to that I was enamored with the Cowboys and 49er...

Pewter Report with a Pewter Petition for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2008-05-08 13:00:00
Buc 'Em contributer Stixx has pointed out in the past that we should attempt to put together some type of Buccaneers "Ring of Honor" ... the fellas from the Pewter Report have one upped Stixx and started a petition for Bucs Fans to electronically sign in order to get the Franchise to (A) - Put up a "Ring of Honor" around the stadium facing the field with Bucs Greats and their Retired Jersey numbers for all stadium guests to see -OR- (B) Have the Bucs install a "Bucs Hall of Fame" at Ray Jay or One Buc Place "where fans can view historic Bucs memorabilia, watch some of the team?s best highlights and see the Lombardi Trophy". The results of the petition are currently available at the Pewter Report. 81% of 1200+ voters are craving the "Bucs Ring of Honor" and I have to agree with them. It would be sweeet to see some Jersey Numbers and Names hanging around Raymond James Stadium. The Pewter Report plans to turnover the petition to the Buccaneers Franchise at seasons end in hopes of star...

No. 20 Presented by Buc'Em Aqib Talib Cornerback Kansas Man what a mind blower... I saw WR Devin Thomas on the cell phone and had his jersey ready to go, then Goodell says Talib and it was on... I'm not going to pretend like i know these guys better than our scouts and Monte Kiffin. If Talib is the guy, obviously he's the guy.. ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS, WR Jordy Nelson ate his ASS up on the football field.. Jordy Nelson is a 2nd-3rd round prospect... Just sayin'..ESPN.com's Jeremy Green on the Bucs drafting Kansas CB Aqib Talib: That 2nd Round pick has got to be OFFENSE!!! Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas, 6'2, 205 Emerged as an elite cornerback early in the season, but struggled down the stretch against bigger receivers. Has good speed and great agility. Is a talker and a vocal leader. Mature for his age. No. 58 Presented by Buc'Em Dexter Jackson Wide Receiver Appalachian State I gotta be honest, with Wide Receiver after Wide Receiver coming off the board, i had my doubts. I was depressed when DJax1 (DeSean Jackson) got taken two picks ahead of us (Damn you Philly). My confidence was restored however when DJax2 (Dexter Jackson) got drafted by the Bucs. He doesnt have that shifty ability most smaller WR's like him have, but he does have blazing speed. If you're not familiar with DJax he played on that same Appalachian State team that beat down the Michigan Wolverines and single handedly knocked Lloyd Carr out of a job (of course he had pretty much sealed his fate prior to that ball game). One of the Videos below is 9 MINUTES LONG, so you may want to grab some popcorn. The Appalachian "Ultimate Highlight" Video is a must-see. It's great to add a competitor like that to this ball club. I think in DJax and Aqib we have two athletes that are hungry. No. 83 Presented by Buc'Em Jeremy Zuttah Offensive Guard Rutgers I like the Bucs Pick, its not a pretty pick, but it provides depth on the line and we always need that. Arron Sears missed time at Guard last year and Luke Petitgout missed the entire year at Tackle. Zuttah can play both positions and helped Rutgers RB Ray Rice achieve the individual success he has...Checkout the Hog Mollie below... Are you kidding me!?!I would have liked a Defensive Tackle here, but you cant really argue with adding depth to the offensive line. Especially when you do it with a guy who's as durable as Zuttah. "I'm very physically mature but I'm only 21-years old," Zuttah said. "I'm strong, I'm fast, I think I'm physically ready. It's just how fast I can learn the system. That's also one of my strengths, my intelligence, so I can learn it quickly. I guess the speed of the game will be different, too." - Rick Stroud of the St. Pete Times Jeremy Zuttah, OT, Rutgers, 6'4, 290 A very experi...

No. 115 Presented by Buc'Em Dre Moore Defensive Tackle Maryland Apparently the Bucs traded their two 5th Round Picks (145 & 158) to the Cowboys for their 5th Round Pick (153) and 6th Round Pick (175)... And of course they swapped 4th Round Picks straight up. Should be interesting as DT Red Bryant just went off the board and we shall see him when we play the Seahawks.Again, its hard to question Monte Kiffin. I was hoping to see them pick up a Red Bryant type as he seems to have more fight in him, but Dre Moore is certainly capable of contributing on the lineDre Moore, DT, Maryland, 6'4, 311 Moore is a quick and powerful defensive tackle who could play inside in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4. Is raw in his development and will likely have to start out in a rotation before transitioning into a starter?s role. Will have to get much nastier. - New Era Scouting

No. 160 Presented by Buc'Em Josh Johnson Quarterback San Diego We all knew this was going to happen. Some more than others. Gruden can't resist it and Allen cant hold him back apparently. I actually like Johnson, love his mobility, and think he fits into Gruden's offense... This instantly marks the END to Chris Simms and Bruce Gradkowski's careers as Buccaneers. I'm sad to see the door close on Simms, as I think with a good line, he can be a very serviceable QB. As for Bruce, don't let the door hit you where the good lord split you... Way to go Ghosthippo on calling this pick early in the off-season... Josh Johnson, QB, San Diego, 6'3, 195 Prolific passer with good mobility and phenomenal arm strength. Very quick release. Gets through his progressions well. Smart. Makes very few mistakes with the ball. Almost never throws an interception. Playing against D-II competition. - New Era Scouting

No. 175 Presented by Buc'Em Geno Hayes Linebacker Florida State This pick is tough for me. As an avid Florida State Fan (you guys know this), I tend to hold our players in a higher light. Like a father does with his kids. With Geno early on in his career he was a great competitor, often playing above his abilities. He really took a step back his junior season. Alot of games he faded into the back ground. He had off the field issues (an altercation at a local bar with a cop, who hasnt?). Going into the Florida game, Geno went on the record saying he was ready to punish QB Tim Tebow and the Gators. The outcome? He finished the game with 1 tackle.. I'm not sure about this pick. Either Geno makes the team or he doesnt.. There's no in between with this guy.. No. 238 Presented by Buc'Em Cory Boyd Runningback South Carolina Mr. Irrelevant for the Bucs 2008 NFL Draft ends up being South Carolina's RB Cory Boyd. Why the Bucs drafted him, I DONT KNOW.. If Kenneth Darby from last season couldnt crack the line-up, nor will Mr. Boyd. Welcome to the team though.. Corey Boyd, RB, South Carolina, 6'1, 214 Nice size, speed combination. Runs hard and will break a lot of tackles. Doesn?t have a lot of burst to the outside. Has a frame to get even bigger. Average receiver. Questionable heart and ability to take pressure from coaches. Disappointed as a senior. - New Era Scouting

Buccaneers? Line Backer Cato June Wins DUI Case
2008-04-18 07:44:00
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are busy this off season in criminal courts. David Boston just entered a plea agreement reducing his original DUI charge to a Reckless Driving charge. Line backer Cato June was also in court recently, but his case ended more favorably for the NFL player. The prosecution was unable to wrestle enough evidence from the police investigation. As a result they had no other choice but to dismiss the DUI criminal charge. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 All Rights ReservedWashington State DUI Blog, by Garth O'Brien. Tampa Bay Bucs? David Boston Pleas to Reckless Driving
2008-04-18 07:25:00
St. Petersburg, Florida. Wide receiver David Boston of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ends his sojourn through the criminal justice system today. Boston and the prosecution agreed to a plea bargain that reduced the original criminal charge of DUI to the crime of Reckless Driving. Judge William Overton imposed the following punishment for the Reckless Driving conviction: 6 months probation Attend DUI school Complete 50 hours of community service Pay $1,115.00 in fines and fees Boston has claimed his innocence on the DUI charge from the beginning, and apparently the reduced charge was offered because of video tape evidence. Boston’s driving and field sobriety tests were captured on film and benefited Boston. Video either makes or completely breaks a defendant’s case. 2008-04-14 16:48:00
Don't be surprised if the Bucs pass on drafting a Wide Receiver with that First Round Draft Pick they possess... I know, I know, it pisses me off as well, but look at the current landscape: Joey Galloway - Hands down #1 WR on the team Ike Hilliard - 3rd down possession receiver, he's deserving of a spot and will start Antonio Bryant - he wasn't brought in to challenge the scout team Maurice Stovall - an injury prematurely ended his season last year Michael Clayton - This is his MAKE or BREAK Year, honestly it is. Put up or shut up Paris Warren - He looked great last Pre-Season missed all of '07 with a leg injury I know what you're thinking, outside of Joey Galloway, none of those guys should be guaranteed a thing and I agree with you, but I don't think Jon Gruden and company agree with our assessment. Heck even QB Jeff Garcia said he'd like to see Clayton and Stovall get more opportunities... So who will the Bucs target with that 1st Round Draft Pick? Y...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Pre-Season Games Announced

Home Away New England Patriots Sunday Aug. 17th Miami Dolphins Friday Aug. 8th Jacksonville Jaguars Friday Aug. 22nd Houston Texans Friday Aug. 29th The Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2008 Pre-Season Schedule has been released and if it looks familiar to you, thats because it should. The Bucs played the exact same schedule last season. The only difference is that they'll be playing J-Ville at home and playing the Dolphins away... Hope you werent anticipating the schedule... If the rumors of the Bucs potentially spinning QB Chris Simms off to the Miami Dolphins holds true, maybe the Pre-Season Opener will be interesting for half a quarter (after that the reserves will be on the field). In another jaw-dropper, Bucs S/CB Eugene Wilson could show the Patriots why they shouldnt have let him go in the 2nd week of the pre-season. Okay let me stop talking up the Pre-Season... Draft Buzz: Players the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are interested in
2008-04-04 13:59:00
...UPDATE... (New Targets highlighted as of 4/3/08)Who might the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look at in this month's NFL Draft? Just take a look below at the list of players the Bucs are rumored to be interested in: WR James Hardy (Indiana) 6'6, 220lbs - Long-striding possession receiver. Hands are a little suspect, but he'll fight for the ball in a crowd of defenders. Shows good footwork to keep in bounds. Route running needs improvement. Will round off too much and doesn't do a good job juking defenders. Isn't very fast or shift. Somewhat physical after the catch. WR Andre Caldwell (Florida) 6'1, 200lbs - Big-framed receiver who has a burst in the short area game. Rarely gets jammed. Displays good body control to keep his balance and work routes correctly. Hands are good but not great. Not much of a playmaker after the catch. Should buck the trend on Gators receivers. WR Dexter Jackson (Appalachian State) 5'10, 180lbs - Jackson, who doubles as a track star, displays e...

Buccaneers to add yet another Quarterback to the Roster
2008-04-03 13:55:00
I've slowly come to grips with the Bucs, Jon Gruden's affinity for collecting Quarterbacks for his roster. I was disgusted when the Bucs wasted a draft pick on QB Bruce Gradkowski, furious when they dealt another draft pick for retired QB Jake Plummer, and was disappointed when they traded yet another draft pick for re-tread QB Brian Griese. I've realized and come to accept the fact that no position on the Bucs roster can be discussed in absolutes, especially the QB position. Take the 2008 NFL Draft for example, the Bucs could select a Quarterback with one of their 5 Draft Picks. This notion became a true possibility when the Bucs have been rumored to be scouting: QB Chad Henne (Michigan) 6'2, 224lbs - A four-year starter with a strong arm, Henne isn't very mobile and is a little short for the position. Henne struggles when pressured and may need to work on his mechanics some. Has tremendous football intelligence and is a vocal leader. Could develop into a good pro if he's ...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers stuck with only 5 Draft Picks
2008-04-02 13:59:00
I hope you didn't bank on the Bucs receiving compensatory picks to help aide those 5 Draft Picks the team has for this month's NFL Draft... Per Buccaneers.com:Tampa Bay was not one of the 15 teams that received compensatory picks. That list was distributed by the NFL on Monday, and Baltimore and Cincinnati led the way with four additional picks each. This marks the first time in eight years that the Bucs have not been on that list. From 2001-07, the Bucs collected a total of 12 compensatory picks. Of course, the fact that Tampa Bay is one of the 17 teams without draft pick compensation means there was nothing to be compensated for. The system of compensatory picks was introduced with the new Collective Bargaining Agreement in 1993 - yes, the CBA that brought true free agency to the NFL. The additional picks are meant to make up for a net roster loss in free agency the year before. Last year, according to the complicated formula utilized by the NFL's Management Council, the Buc...

The Picks will be awarded from the 4th Round on.. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have no clue as to whether they will receive any Compensatory Picks. These are called Compensatory Picks, not Sympathy Picks.. If you think just because the Bucs got hosed (in reality BRUCE ALLEN hosed himself) when dealing a 7th Round Pick for a RETIRED QB, think again, the league won't "Compensate" for that ignorance.. You gotta hope they throw us a bone pick however..

Draft Buzz: Players the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are interested in...
2008-03-24 12:47:00
Who might the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look at in next month's NFL Draft? Just take a look below at the list of players the Bucs are rumored to be interested in: WR Andre Caldwell (Florida) 6'1, 200lbs - Big-framed receiver who has a burst in the short area game. Rarely gets jammed. Displays good body control to keep his balance and work routes correctly. Hands are good but not great. Not much of a playmaker after the catch. Should buck the trend on Gators receivers. WR Jordy Nelson (Kansas State) 6'2, 213lbs - A former walk-on who has worked into an All-American. Great in the slot. Good hands and speed. Very elusive. Consistent route runner who finds openings and reads the defense well. Will be a great asset as a slot receiver and special teams ace. WR Devin Thomas (Michigan State) 6’2, 215lbs - This year, Thomas has emerged as one of the top receivers in the nation. He has good size, and while not a burner, he has enough speed to make plays downfield. Thomas, a junior ...

2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Draft Order
2008-03-23 16:06:00
Below and in this site's left sidebar you'll find the Bucs 2008 Draft Order.. It's a bit more normal than last season's (2) picks in the 2nd Round and (3) picks in the 7th Round. I think the Bucs need immediate help and further depth at the following positions (listed in order of importance): Wide Receiver, Cornerback, Punt/Kick Returner, Defensive Tackle, Offensive Line, and Tight End. We've got (6) Quarterbacks (forget that position), (5) Runningbacks (Dunn, Bennett, Graham, Williams, and Darby to an extent I guess), Linebacking Depth wouldnt be a horrible idea with Derrick Brooks probably playing in his 2nd to last season with the Bucs. We've got plenty at Safety and Defensive End... We sorely need help in the Punt/Kick Returning department, especially with Michael Pittman not returning. Michael Spurlock and Chad Lucas arent bad options, but Ike Hilliard returned Punts at times last season, it's time to upgrade.. Here's the Draft Order (I suppose its subject to change wit...

2008-03-21 15:31:00
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on a signing spree this free agency season as they have already signed four new defensive players in the first two weeks of free agency. In the third week of the free agency on Monday, the Bucs went on and signed unrestricted free agent safety Eugene Wilson and the terms of ...
Draft History: NFL's 10th Best Draft ever... 1995 Buccaneers Class
2008-03-20 17:41:00
Alot of folks consider Rich McKay taking over as Bucs GM in '95 as the tipping point for the Bucs Organization. The point in time where the Franchise started to reverse its fortunes and become a respectable and successful organization. That 1995 off-season started with the NFL's 10th Best Draft of ALL-TIME. Don't believe me? Click here to see the video footage. The Bucs 1995 Draft consisted of the following: 1st Round 12th Pick - DT Warren Sapp (Miami) 1st Round 28th Pick - OLB Derrick Brooks (FSU) 2nd Round 11th Pick - DB Melvin Johnson 4th Round 7th Pick - FS Jerry Wilson 5th Round 9th Pick - CB Clifton Abraham (FSU) 6th Round 8th Pick - LB Wardell Rouse I'm shocked myself to see that Drafting Sapp and Brooks would be considered the 10th Best NFL Draft selection of ALL-Time. Granted they turned the Franchise around and transcended what most Bucs Fans think of when thinking about the Pewter and Red. It's not like the rest of those guys from that '95 ...

Bengals WR Chad Johnson will NEVER EVER dawn a Buccaneers Jersey
2008-03-20 02:45:00
We've talked alot about the Bucs and pursuing Wide Receivers via trade this off-season. A month ago, Bengals WR Chad Johnson was the one Receiver Bucs Fans who frequented Buc 'Em wanted to see in Red -n- Pewter. We can all forget that day dream, there is NO WAY the Bucs would bring Ocho Cinco aka "Show me the Money" to Tampa. On the set of NFL Network's Total Access Tuesday, Chad had the following to say when asked about wanting more money: "I don't want no money," Johnson said. "Wait a minute, stop 85. It's always about the money. This is a business. You play this game for a reason, because it's about the money. We fill those stands for those owners because it's about the money. Coaches want to win because you get new deals because it's about the money. Players want to play at a very high level because you get money. ... Chad continues to play at a very high level, so he can get that money. But right now in this situation, I don't want any money from where I am. That's ...

Buccaneers sign Safety Eugene Wilson or is he a Cornerback?
2008-03-15 00:29:00
Adam Schefter of the NFL Network is reporting the Bucs have signed Free Agent Safety Eugene Wilson to a one year deal worth $1.8 million ($500k guarenteed). It's expected Wilson will serve as the teams replacement at Cornerback for CB Brian Kelly who signed with the Lions last week. He's definitely not coming in to play Safety unless Jermaine Phillips or Tanard Jackson go down and Sabby Piscitelli has yet to become playing time worthy. This signing does present an interesting situation.. Do the Bucs take a Cornerback with their first pick in April's NFL Draft? Wilson is only signed for one year, so the Bucs could certainly spend that pick on a CB they don't have to rush into the fray... We shall see

Buccaneers to meet with WR D.J. Hackett Today and others
2008-03-13 13:34:00
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to meet with Free Agent Wide Receiver D(eAndre).J(ames). Hackett today reports the Pewter Report. Hackett was a 5th Round pick in '04 out of Colorado. He missed 10 games last season for the Seattle Seahawks with a sprained ankle. He's missed 31 of 64 starts in his career, you would think D.J.'s ability to stay injured would scare off Allen and Gruden, but apparently it doesnt. Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune is reporting that the Agent of Wide Receivers Bryant Johnson (Cardinals) and Drew Carter (Panthers) is weighing his clients collective options and the Bucs are apparently in the mix: "We're going to take the next couple days and go over the offers we have and take it from there," said Joel Segal, the agent for Johnson and Carter, both [one] of whom are considering Tampa Bay as a destination. - Tampa Tribune. I think a Bryant Johnson signing would be a step in the right direction. A signing like that would allow the Bucs to focus on a Cor...

Buccaneers stay aggressive, sign 49ers? Douglas

Buccaneers sign another WR Project, this year its Antonio Bryant's turn
2008-03-12 02:27:00
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have added another Wide Receiver to their arsenal. Signing former San Francisco 49er, Antonio Bryant, who will attempt to do what David Boston before him could not do and that's make the Bucs Wide Receiving Unit better. Bryant is a 6'2 190 pound 26 year old receiver. He's only two years removed from going over a 1,000 yards on the season for the Cleveland Browns. He missed all of 2007 because nobody would give him a flyer. Why would nobody give him a flyer you ask? Because he's gone at it with two of his previous Head Coaches in the Fins Bill Parcells and the 49ers Mike Nolan. Toward the end of the season in '06 he was stopped for going over 100 miles an hour in his Lamborghini, while... you guessed it, driving under the influence, resisting arrest and was charged with reckless driving. He was suspended for the next four ball games, two of which would carry over into the '07 season. From news of the weird, while other Football Players were, shockingly, p...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sign Tight End Ben Troupe
2008-03-12 02:26:00
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed Free Agent Tight End Ben Troupe. Troupe previously played for the Tennessee Titans for 4 years and played at the University of Florida prior to that. He clearly possesses the athletic ability I'm sure QB Jeff Garcia needs in order to remain on his two feet after releasing a pass. He's also a young guy who can challenge starting TE Alex Smith and also become more of a running mate with Smith as opposed to a mentoring type. Troupe's production has slipped the past two years, but I think that can be attributed to a young Quarterback coming in trying to learn the system. He progressed from his Rookie Season to his second season while playing with Veteran QB Steve McNair. It'll be interesting to see how he and Alex Smith help QB Jeff Garcia out this season.

Warrick Dunn returns to Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2008-03-11 12:44:00
The terms are yet to be disclosed (2 years 6 million dollar contract, 2 million guarenteed), but former RB Warrick Dunn, who was recently released by the Falcons this off-season, has signed a contract to return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reports Stephen Holder of the St. Pete Times. Warrick Dunn on his return: "I'm just happy to be playing with a group of guys that have been playing hard, that have played well and are going out each week and competing," Dunn said. "I'm really thrilled about the opportunity to try to win some games and move forward. Right now, I don't know everyone, so I can't say a whole hell of a lot. But I'm looking forward to being part of the team and to come in and contribute any way I can. I'm just happy to be playing with a group of guys that have been playing hard, that have played well and are going out each week and competing," Dunn said. "I'm really thrilled about the opportunity to try to win some games and move forward. Right now, I don't know...

I think it’s something that deserves more attention than it’s getting. When I heard about it on the news I was slightly disturbed. The more I read about it as I researched the issue for that article, the more angry it made me.Bud Selig is scum. Retirement Party: The Buccaneers (Former & Current) sent Alstott out in
2008-03-02 15:53:00
Last night was huge if you cared at all about the career and man that was Mike Alstott. The Glazers held a Retirement Party for their beloved Full Back which included an invitation only, black tie-affair. The Party took place in a lounge at Raymond James Stadium. A few of the guests included: "Tony Dungy, Rod Marinelli, Mike Shula, John Lynch, Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, Brad Johnson, Dexter Jackson, Trent Dilfer, Ronde Barber, Lorenzo Neal, Joe Jurevicius, Simeon Rice, Booger McFarland -- all of them and hundreds more were on hand Saturday to honor Alstott." - Stephen Holder of the St. Pete Times Alstott's best friend and teammate TE Dave Moore gave a toast followed by video clips including ESPN's Chris Berman, the Cowboy's Troy Aikman, and Subway's Jared. One can only hope these will leak onto YouTube... John Lynch, Warren Sapp, and Derrick Brooks recapped their memories of Mike Alstott. Sapp said of his pre-game routine always ending with him head-butting Al...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders
2008-02-27 14:00:00
I personally think that this bunch could be the best overall cheering squad in the entire NFL, and perhaps all of pro sports. The combination of outfits, good looks, and warm climate location all make for a great crew. Their team page kind of makes me salivate. Look at those uniforms folks. ...
Tampa Bay Buccaneers RELEASE Captain Fear, Derrick Brooks, and Cheerleading
2008-02-20 01:18:00
Okay, so the Bucs didn't really release Captain Fear, LB Derrick Brooks, and the Cheerleading Squad, BUT I figured since everyone else in the NFC South is releasing guys: Crumpler (ATL), Coleman (ATL), Morgan (CAR), Wahle (CAR), and Sunil (NO, our Saints Blogger, he's no where to be found)... The bucs might as well try and follow suit. I kid I kid.. I would become deathly ill if the Bucs released the triplets above. Captain Fear is the MASCOT of all Mascots, LB Derrick Brooks is a first ballot Hall of Famer, and the Cheerleading Squad, well, yeah... It's going to be a loooong off-season

Bucs Beat: Tampa Bay Buccaneers to contact agents of Crumpler, Coleman
2008-02-19 19:33:00
...UPDATE... The Carolina Panthers and Seattle Seahawks are also in the mix for Crumpler's services. It should be illegal for the Panthers to have Jeff King and Alge Crumpler. It should take a while before Alge decides where he'd like to play, but I hate that the Panthers are in the mix. Being able to play in North Carolina and with old teammate Julius Peppers could be pretty tempting...The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to contact the Agents of DT Rod Coleman and TE Alge Crumpler, reports the St. Pete Times. The Bucs may reach out as early as today... This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Kudos to Stephen Holder and the rest of his staff at the St. Pete Times, way to bring some legitimacy to the "Bucs needing to target Crumpler-Coleman discussion"..
