Hometown Buffet
2008-09-23 10:30:00 Hometown Buffet. It was $22.58 for 2 people. So about $12 per person. We always talk how every time we come here, the price is higher than last time. I personnaly hate Hometown Buffet. Low-quality food, high fat, instant food...and too much American food (of course). Just too much for me. I just don't like this type of food at all. The reason we came here was because sometimes my husband goes crazy and he just wanna go to a buffet. But everytime after finish eating, he says this is nasty, I don't wanna anymore.And the worst part about eating here is the kids, they don't wash their hands after bathroom, and when we were eating, one old man came out from the bathroom and he had long toilette paper under his shoes. 2008-07-10 09:57:00 Lunch buffet at Monte Carlo. We were staying at Monte Carlo last month for a Rolex watch giveaway, and we had to be in the casino this day because they had drawings every hour. Anyway, we heard somebody saying that there is a free spin wheel outside and you can win something so we went to spin the wheel. My husband won 2 for 1 tickets to the Lance Burton magic show, which we already saw, and I won a 2 for 1 buffet coupon. We knew the buffet is terrible here but my husband was hungry, so we decided to use the coupon. It was lunch and $13.95 + tax = $15.03. We were hoping our host could take this off later (they did).Food was terrible. We ordered orange juice, and it took about 10 minutes. We ordered a second glass of orange juice, never got it. Mom was nice enough to babysit and for the first time I was out for a record time of 5 hours.It was a buffet and what a spread there was. I am really into the cold cuts, salads and the raw stuff. Oysters and salmon galore. I must say that they kept the oyster supply coming the whole night. They were fresh and with an extra dash of tabasco sauce, tastes divine.I never liked fresh oysters until I discovered how well it goes with tabasco and a squeeze of lemon. I think between all the ladies and I, we probably ate several dozens. Some of us started with oysters and ended the meal with oysters!The dessert spread was pretty good. I have to confess I had 2 servings of caramel custard, mango and bread butter pudding plus a selection of cakes as well :)There were mini cream puffs as well! Made with fresh cream - my favorite. We went to the Four Seasons for their Saturday night beach buffet. It's a spendy (75/78 bucks or so a head) and very delicious meal. I'm getting old, so I restrained myself and only had 10 lobster tail halves, a couple pieces of steak, a bunch of lillikoi pork ribs, a pile of steamer clams, a few salads (I didn't know fried chicken could be a salad, but they had fried chicken salad... and here I'd been overlooking salads all this time) and a few deserts (the chocolate souffle was delicious)... I skipped the sushi table altogether. It's a delicious dinner, and even the kids at the place had fun... they break out a fairly sizeable telescope after dark.Sometimes the video on the Canon G9 surprises me. I decided to see if it could handle the relatively low light at the buffet and it did just fine.
