2008-09-26 06:40:00 NFL DRAFT Remains in NYC for at least 2009-but no movement on NFL network coming to CableTVIf you look at the NFL.com Website you can clearly see that The dates for the Draft are posted (April 25th and 26th 2009) and Listed as "Radio City Music Hall" in NYCIn the past i had said i felt it should be moved around some. But after talking with Fans the last two drafts i have done an about face. Maybe the NFL should sign a long term agreement with Radio City (oh, but that would mean they'd be going back on their word and Jumping back into bed with Radio City's owner "the Evil(yeah right) James Dolan of Cablevision). The clear fact is that the NFL Owners are the ones keeping the fans from having the NFL Network (and even the Sunday ticket) on Cable, and not James and Charles Dolan. Ask NFL Brodcast comm. chair Jerry Jones(the same one who owns the Cowboys) why they are trying to get Cablevision into court to force them to carry the channel on Basic cable? Because not all that many peop...

Is CableVision a Useful Idiot for TVoIP?
2008-04-21 17:54:00 Consumerist has an interesting expose here on the BS that CableVision is dishing out to its customers that they will lose services if they don’t upgrade to digital cable and they are blaming the FCC for the reason why. What I think of these kind of dealings I can’t print. – Cablevision is lying to customers by claiming that the FCC will require all subscribers to upgrade to digital cable boxes in 2009. Digital cable boxes cost $6.50 per month, plus an extra $10.95 for digital service. Cablevision recently sent a letter to all boxless subscribers threatening to cut several channels unless they forked out a bundle of extra cash for digital service. When one of our family member called for an explanation, Cablevision shirked responsibility and placed the blame squarely on some crazy new FCC mandate. We called shenanigans and decided to call back and record our chats with several customer service representatives. Inside, the recordings of Cablevision lies and the FCC&r...

Time Warner and Cablevision kings of VoIP
2006-08-06 18:48:38 If telcos are over dominating broadband telephony market in Europe, in North America, it’s all the most different. Cable and DSL VoIP telephony user bases are very close. In DSL market, Vonage tops its competitors only by number of subscribers. In the cable market, new Cable Industry Insider Report gives the facts. Time Warner and Cablevision collectively signed up more than 2.2 million VoIP customers through the end of the first quarter, giving them nearly 62% of the industry’s grand total of 4 million users. Separately, Time Warner still tops its cable competitors, with 1.4 million IP phone subscribers. Time Warner is the second largest VoIP service provider, in an overall VoIP ranking. The U.S. and Canadian cable VoIP telephony market is expected to reach 7 million subscribers by the end of 2007.
