Cage Rage 25 Betting Odds: Shamrock vs Berry and Others
2008-03-07 18:20:00 CAGE RAGE 25: MARCH 8 ON SHOWTIME, location: London, England. Four bouts are scheduled to air on showtime with a few interesting undercard names that we might also get a peak at like Ken Shamrock's son Ryan who will be fighting at a whopping 135 lbs for his second profession al fight. All of the Odds listed are from Bookmaker.com. I'm going to list my actual bets for this and future events. I won't be listing my dollar amounts though, instead I'll use the ubiquitous betting term "unit"; in other words your typical bet size which is dependant on your bankroll and the size of your cazzo....Main Card:Ken Shamrock (-220) vs. Robert Berry (+180)The 44 year old Shamrock in his first fight since back to back losses to Tito in 2006. Ken has only won 2 of his last 8 fights since 2001. Shamrock's opponent is what I like to call a well rounded pass out specialist. He has a lot of skills, but seems to excel at getting knocked out. Seeing how Shamrock last 6 losses came by way of TKO as well...

Zuffa and Cage Rage in trademark dispute
2007-06-19 18:12:00 There is news today that the London law office of McDermott, Will, and Emery (hired by Zuffa LLC) is in a trademark dispute with Cage Rage. What makes the article containing this information difficult to understand is exactly what the dispute is about. The article claims the following: Zuffa alleges that UK company Cage Rage infringed its trademark by organising fights using the Ultimate Fighting name. Since then the company has sought to crack down on any other organisations using the Ultimate Fighting name. Cohen said: “We wrote to Cage Rage and they failed to respond adequately, so we sued them. It’s a passing off and trademark infringement action.” To top it all off, the article at the end uses Zuffa’s proprietary term of ‘ultimate fighting’ to describe MMA as… ultimate fighting. For those with knowledge of the situation — when did Cage Rage use the term ‘ultimate fighting’? Long-term legal question: With so many mainstream media outlets using the term ‘ult...

As most readers should know by now K-1/Recently Pro Elite/EliteXC held a press conference at the Los Angeles Coliseum to announce a collaboration event to be held there on June 2nd called "Dynamite USA". Most reports following the press conference led with phrases like "six Davids to merge into one Goliath" (Full Contact Fighter) or "a collaboration of promoters from around the world" (MMA Weekly) while the fighters announced so far were covered second. Maybe it should have been the other way around.View the entire article HERE.

Showtime, EXC and K-1/Hero's, Cage Rage, Strikeforce Unity?
2007-03-27 04:36:00 From Dave Meltzer:"Not only will Showtime, EXC and K-1/Hero's be represented at tomorrow morning's press conference at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, but there will be a few surprise promoters with the idea of announcing all the groups are getting together. Think 1980's Pro Wrestling USA but with fewer stars and no good television. Also expected to be represented as Strikeforce (no surprise, since they are in bed with EXC for PPV and promoter Scott Coker also is the K-1 promoter), Cage Rage from England (which runs head-to-head with UFC on 4/21) and Bodog (key here is if Fedor is announced or not) are all expected to publicly unite. As those who remember this being attempted in wrestling, I hope they can at least all agree on what to get for lunch after the press conference before it falls apart."WrestlingObserver.com |
