2008-06-19 09:36:00 A finales del año pasado, los Ministerios de (in)Cultura e Industria dieron a conocer un borrador que habían elaborado con las nuevas tarifas en concepto de canon que querían imponer sobre todo tipo de soportes electrónicos y, como era de esperar, nos encontramos con unas tasas que habían sido diseñadas de espaldas a los consumidores y con el único fin de satisfacer a nuestros "artistas". Con las elecciones generales a la vuelta de la esquina, el tema se aparcó unos meses pero ahora, ya con el respaldo de la ciudadanía, el gobierno ha publicado en el Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE) el importe extra que deberemos pagar a partir de mañana mismo cada vez que compremos un teléfono móvil, un disco duro, una impresora, un reproductor portátil, una bobina de CDs o DVDs, una memoria USB o un escáner. There were none shown in my area (Virginia Beach) though. I swung by two CC stores, and the second had one in stock marked ~ 750. When they scanned it though, it came up ~529.96, and they had a $15 coupon laying on the counter that brought it down to ~ $515. I have it charged up, and shot a few seconds of video, but haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet. I wanted High Def, but I still have a BUNCH of old mini-dv tapes I need the ability to play, and the reviews for this camera were top-notch!More Online Coupons from Fatwallet.com.

2008-06-05 02:52:00 Phew, long post title.... Here's the Canon housing for the G9, and the same housing with a Duron M67 adapter and two Inon UCL-165 closeup lenses added on to the housing. Pat and I recently picked up Canon G9 cameras and their associated Canon housings. We really love macro shots and saw some amazing stuff on one of the scuba message boards several months ago and were lusting for whatever allowed those pictures to be taken. After some sleuthing, not all posters want to share for some reason, we found the trick was by adding Inon UCL-165 closeup lenses. This is a common practice by some people who have housings with threaded ports, you can add "wet" lenses to in effect get either closer or a more wide angle look. The Canon G9 and other simialar series Canons however have an oval port, which requires a 67 millimeter threaded adaptor.
