Capcom Rebalancing Street Fighter II's HD Debut
2007-11-13 15:33:00 Capcom isn't just redoing the art and music for the upcoming Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix. They're going in and making what purists might consider drastic changes to the gameplay of the company's flagship fighting game. Designer David Sirlin details some of the changes on the company's blog. They're making several moves, like the Dragon Punch and Spinning Piledriver, easier to pull off. "Let's emphasize good decision making -- the true core of competitive games --and get rid of artificially difficult commands," he writes. Sirlin also says that characters will be rebalanced for tournament play: Specifically, they will "remove the repeatable abuse from the top tier characters." That means if you're used to spamming certain powerful moves from Balrog and Dhalsim, you might find yourself out of luck in HD Remix.
