Honda FCX Clarity is Named World Green Car of the Year
2009-04-15 05:37:00 Back in 2006, Honda introduced the FCX Concept Vehicle with the hopes of expanding the platform over the next few years. Their goal was to design a fuel efficient midsized sedan that was both fun to drive and easy on the environment. From there, the FCX was used at the base for the FXC Clarity Hydrogen Concept Vehicle introduced in 2008. Skip ahead to this year's New York Auto Show and the Clarity Concept Vehicle is dubbed the Green World Car of the Year.

Sure, we occasionally have ridden around in the belly of a limo for weddings and what not, but those rentals are nothing like the real thing. According to The Chauffeur magazine, the best £50,000 to £100,000 car to be driven in is a hybrid, the Lexus LS 600h L to be exact. Powered by a hybridized V8 engine, the long-wheelbase Lexus flagship's rear seat is surely a nice place to sit back and relax, but one of the reasons the vehicle was chosen has to do with its economy... fuel economy that is. Smart Fourtwo: Car of the Year?
2008-01-09 20:20:00 Don't get us wrong, we like the Smart Fourtwo just as much as anybody, but when considering what car deserves the title "Car of the Year" the little two-seater isn't the first vehicle that comes to mind. Not that the car is undeserving of some honor: the fuel mileage is laudable, the safety features are all present and accounted for and the emissions are suitably low. The problem is that there are other vehicles which perform equally as well in most of the categories mentioned for a similar price point. What would really merit an award such as "Car of the Year" would be an electric version of the Smart for the same price as the gas powered model. Now we're taking!
