A few days ago we presented you the 42nd Statesman Classic & Vintage Car Rally to flag-off on 2nd March. The Chief of Army Staff General Deepak Kapoor will flag-off the 42nd Statesman Vintage & Classic Car Rally 2008 on Sunday, March 2nd. More than 130 vintage and classic cars will travel between Delhi and the picturesque Westin Sohna-Gurgaon Resort & Spa before returning to Modern School Barakhamba Road for prize distribution. Vintage car rally for tiger conservation in Lucknow

A three-day vintage car rally was kicked off from Lucknow to Dudhwa National Park on Friday, with a motto of 'Protect Wildlife-Protect the Tiger'. "The objective of this rally is to spread the message of protecting wildlife, especially conservation of tigers. We want people to come forward and take charge of protecting tigers. This is the main objective for which we are on this 212-kilometers run," said Sandeep Das, one of the organisers. About 10-13 vintage cars are participating in the rally. The participants and the organisers will meet forest officials at the park and will take stock of the decline in various species. Kulbushan, a participant, equated the life of a tiger to that of vintage car, both needing proper attention and care, lest they are harmed. "Maintenance is very important for vintage cars.
