2009-10-30 22:33:00
Perhaps you’ve got some secret data to pass along to your colleagues in a public place.  You will definitely to be stealth and use one of these Hollow Spy Coins to hide your MicroSD cards.  No one will be able to tell that you have just passed over some secret information to your friend. Each coin is precision hand milled to create a secret compartment inside. Once closed, it’s virtually impossible to distinguish these spy coins from a regular coin. Store your secrets then pass it off to your undercover contact as pocket change… no one will be the wiser. The half dollar is even capable of storing a micro SD card. Just think, gigs of data in a coin… 007 would be so jealous. Brought to you by: Zedomax.com MicroSD Hack – How to “Hide” Your MicroSD Cards! Gutless McGwire now the Cards' hitting coach
2009-10-27 21:42:00
I just cannot stand this. Why did Tony La Russa feel the need to bring a completely tainted Mark McGwire back into the fold? And make no mistake this is Tony's call. The St. Louis Cardinals are just along for the ride. La Russa, a full blown stand up guy, is the Redbirds. If he wanted Osama bin Laden to instruct his hitters the club would support him 125 percent. "I'm not hear to talk about the past. I'm here to be positive about this subject."...

Cards Void Wagner Mateo's Contract
2009-09-22 22:28:00
8:28pm: Cardinals GM John Mozeliak told Derrick Goold of the P-D he has no plans to renegotiate with Mateo at this time. Mozeliak is disappointed the deal fell apart. 5:37pm: Badler talked to Mateo's agent Edgar Mercedes, who said his client will be among those in attendance at a tryout in October. By the way, the Cardinals noted that there were no concerns about Mateo's age. 2:43pm: The Cardinals voided the contract of top prospect Wagner Mateo, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The 16-year-old Dominican signed a $3.1MM deal with the Cards in July, but failed to meet the club's physical standards. The team discovered "pre-existing injuries and physical defects" and voided the deal.  Mateo's representatives say the outfielder has 20/30 vision in his right eye, according to Ben Badler of Baseball America. However, they say Mateo doesn't have a degenerative eye condition or nerve damage. Mateo's representatives say the prospect's vision is the same as it was earlier...

7 Key Benefits to Using Prepaid Debit Cards
2009-08-23 16:39:00
Prepaid debit cards are similar to credit cards, but they require upfront collateral (cash) before you can use them. There are actually several benefits that come with using prepaid debit cards versus a traditional credit card.1. Perfect for College Students One of the easiest and most convenient ways to provide money for a student is with a prepaid debit card. You can set monthly limits that get reloaded at the end of the month, helping the student operate within the budget you specify.2. Safer Than Carrying Cash Like credit cards, if your prepaid debit card is stolen, you are protected. If someone takes your cash, you are not! 3. Helps You Better Manage Your Budget Since a prepaid debit card isn?t a credit card, it won?t allow you to make purchases on credit. Thus forcing you to stay within your set budget. 4. No Credit Check or Application A prepaid debit card, like the kind you can get from ACE Cash Express, uses upfront collateral, so there?s no need for credit ch...
CTA to dump fare cards, move to credit cards, other fare modes

So long CTA-issued transit and smart cards. Hello contact-less credit cards, debit cards and prepaid cards for fare payments.Starting this month the CTA will look at all the options to put itself out of the business of providing fare payment cards. That includes "considering possible procedures, management and cost of the program," according to a CTA press release. "After reviewing these proposals and developing a final plan, the second phase will give companies the opportunity to submit proposals for the actual implementation of the program."The idea is to partner with a bank issuing a credit or debit card to push the cost of producing the card onto the card issuer. "The farecard would be a smart card containing a computer...

Julio Lugo Traded to Cards
2009-07-23 00:43:00
mlbtraderumors.com: It's been a busy day for the Red Sox. They acquired Chris Duncan and a player to be named later for Julio Lugo, turning an albatross into a viable left-handed hitter. They also dealt a pair of prospects for Adam LaRoche, adding a power bat who normally excels in the second half. And according to Jon Heyman's Twitter feed, they may not be finished yet. My question: Do we care? Should we care? I care just by virtue of the fact that, once again, the Cards are out making deals to improve their team, while we're sitting around sucking. And no, I don't care that we won today and went 5-2 on this road trip. I'm sick of...
Credit Cards - 4 Reasons Why Credit Cards Are Essential For a Profitable On
2009-07-22 17:24:00
When you operate a traditional brick and mortar business, credit cards are one form of processing a transaction -- they are the lifeline for any online business. If it's not convenient for you and your business, you don't even have to accept credit cards because people can pay you in other ways. However, with your online business, these types of transactions are the bread and butter, and your sales rely almost solely on them. Here are several reasons why credit cards are essential for a profitable online business.1. Main means of transaction - As mentioned, credit cards are the main means of transaction for your online business. It's not as if you can accept cash over your Internet connection. Therefore you need these cards, and you need to have a secure system in place that makes people feel at ease using their credit cards and giving out that information. If you fail to have that, people won't make any purchases and you'll be left without your sole source of revenue.2. Growi...

Tips for cutting interest and slashing debtIt almost always starts out small. Maybe your DVD player conks out, and you don't have cash in the bank to buy a new one. That's what credit cards are for, right? Or there's a new CD you just have to have, and you don't have the 15 bucks with you. Put it on plastic. Gifts for your family at Christmas? Heck, it only comes once a year.As Wilma and Betty on The Flintstones used to say, "Cha-a-a-a-rge it!"Of course, if you're asking this question, you already know how to get into debt. What you want to know now is how to get out. Well, don't despair. It can be done. The following advice will show you how to lighten your debt load and keep you from getting weighed down for good. Know what you owe. If your credit-card and other debt payments are getting in the way of important life goals, such as buying a house, saving for your children's education or contributing to your retirement plan, chances are that you owe too much.Tackle your high-co...
Cards @ Cubs: Live Game Thread, Part II (With Live Gamechat!)

Our Hoffpauir is better than your Hoffpauir. Three down, one to go. We're halfway to ending the first half 1.5 games out of first place; a dream many of us thought impossible to acheive with this crappy, crappy offense. Fortunately for us, the Cards have spent the last two games looking more like the Cubs than the Cards, allowing us to creep up into their rearview mirror. Tonight's as big a game as we've played all season. Either well go into the All-Star Break in the Card's backseat at 1.5 back, or we'll be observing the two-second rule and following safely behind. In honor of this momentous occasion, and because we won't have another game thread for several days, we're going...
Double Member Cards Today Only for Chicago Public Radio Donors

Today is the last day of Chicago Public Radio's summer pledge drive, and to bring in those last-minute bids, they're offering not one but TWO "member cards" for those who pledge $12.50 a month ($150 total) or more. The cards offer two-for-one deals at Chicago restaurants and attractions. I had a member card a couple years ago, and I must admit I didn't use it much because I didn't happen to get to the restaurants listed on it. But if you go out more than this mom of two, it might save you a lot of money. You get the member cards on top of the normal thank-you gifts, and today only they're also offering a drawing entry to win a scooter. ...

Sometimes I think I enjoy planning and dreaming about vacations as much as I enjoy actually taking vacations. Okay, that's not true. But I do enjoy planning vacations and thinking about the vacations I might take and the places I might stay, like the klamath falls resorts I could go visit.Have you SEEN the places you could stay around there? Check this out:And this:and this:Those are all views of the "Running Y Ranch," a full-service resort I found today. It's in what's called "Southern Oregon's Cascade Mountain" range, just across the border from California. But I don't care. It could be in the "Sea of Tranquility" range just across the border from the moon and I'd want to go there. (Although in that case, I'd also want a spacesuit.)Here's a big selling point: 300 days of sunshine a year. Three hundred! With scenery like that, and even more to do, like golf, riding, spas, bird watching... and even an "adventure outfitters." I don't know what that is, but the Ran...

No Brooms Game Thread: Cubs at Cards, 8:15 p.m. ET/7:15 CT

LOST: Cubs offense Description: This intricate design involves hitting a small ball and then moving in 90-feet segments in a diamond-shaped pattern. When you reach the point from where you started, you get what's known as a "run." The object is to collect as many of these "runs" as possible in order to defeat your opponent. Last seen: At Wrigley Field last weekend If found, please return to: St. Louis, ASAP! Or San Diego as a secondary option. As the Cubs have wasted two solid pitching performances from Ted Lilly and Ryan Dempster, I'm sure they'll score nine runs for Sean Marshall, the No. 5 starter and win something like 9-3. Marshall (2-2, 4.02) had a small stint in the bullpen (picking up a win!) last week before now moving back into the rotation. He's given up three runs or less in all of his starts but one this season, not too shabby for a No. 5 guy. Out for the Cards is Adam Wainwright (3-2, 3.83) who has pitched against the Cubs twice already, giving up 13 total hits an...

Oops, dropped it Hey my peeps, whats happening, whatcha doing, whats goin on?  Having a good week are ya?   No?  You say its Tuesday and the week before a long weekend sucks?  I know, its gonna be a long week.  But guess what?  MLB has decided to smile upon us, and reward the Cub faithful with a 3 game series against the Cardinals,  And tonight's game is even on WGN for those of us out of market and usually unable to watch the boys in blue. So lets look at what we got going on tonight. For the Cards, Joel Pineiro (4-3,   4.17 ERA) For the Cubs, TED FREAKING LILLY!   (5-2,  3.27 ERA) The Cubs should be making contact with the ball tonight as Pineiro hasn't been walking or striking anyone out.  In the NL has the fewest walks per 9 inning, and the second fewest strikeouts per 9 innings in all of baseball.  This could be good news for the Cubs, or it could be bad news, here's hoping that the Cards aren't a bunch of gold gl...

Tata Indicom launches global roaming for Data Cards
2009-05-13 06:23:00
Tata Indicom has unveiled a new service which would truly facilitate global internet access to its subscribers with just one account . The service named ‘One World, One Account service’ bridges the current roaming  gap by allowing users to access internet globally in more than 160 countries through a single account. The access to global Internet roaming has been facilitated by its current association with WBA, the global association of telecommunication services providers that offer Wi-Fi services. It would also mitigate the payment solution by providing single billing for all the services like gaming, movies, music etc on a single account for broadband, wi-fi and dial-up subscribers. Although billing integration is already provided by other ISP’s,the introduction of global roaming for data card is industry’s first initiative . This is also an attempt to increase VAS revenues by providing a single payment solution and the introduction of hi-speed wireless data acc...

I could've had a career as a rapper, I bet, if I'd played my cards right.
2009-05-01 16:20:00
I share my iTunes with the whole family -- Sweetie, Middle, The Boy, even Oldest, who technically moved out 3 years ago but who, for reasons unknown to me, continues to come by to download music on our computer. Sharing a whole music library with the family means my iPod is loaded with stuff that I didn't put on there, meaning that while I'm driving to work happily listening to, say, a folk rendition of "Baby Got Back" (really!), my next song might be anything from a Rick Springfield oldie to Middle's latest craze, the "Sound of Music" soundtrack, to something from The Boy's love of 70s hard rock. Most of the time, I flip on past that stuff and get back to Rick Dees' "Disco Duck" (Really!) But every now and then, something comes on that I would have never listened to and yet, I kind of like it. And I'm never more surprised then when one of Oldest's songs come on and I give it a chance and end up enjoying it -- because Oldest is into hip hop and R&B and dance music, stuf...

Lou's looking for answers. Wow.  What a week, huh?  Bradley's got a groin issue, Ramirez has a back, and Marmol has a trick knee. Today the Cubs attempt to snap this 3 game skid.  To that effort they throw the handsome hurler with the crooked smile, Rich Harden.  Oh please Lord don't let him drink from the same cooler as BAMF, Aram, and Marmol-ade. Match up news. From Cubs.com: Harden showed he's a hearty Canadian in his last start. He shrugged off 40-degree temperatures at Wrigley Field to strike out eight over six innings against the Reds. Please sir, may I have another? A familiar face tosses it for the cards. Todd Wellemeyer From Cubs.com: Just as it seemed Wellemeyer had gotten sorted out after an iffy spring and start of the season, he was a bit shaky again on Tuesday Did you here that?  He was shaky.  SHAKY!! If it keeps raining like this even Noah would say "Screw it!". There just may be a window of oppurtunity here.  Albeit a small one.  Today's hour by hour forecast. If this game does get underway, we get to enjoy the master at work: Chicks dig me because I rarely wear underwear, and when I do, it's always something unusual. (Hat tip to TLFC for the pic) Lilly is coming off an outstanding outing, that saw him take a no hit bid 6 2/3 innings.  To say he was on his game is an understatement.  He will be opposed by former Cub, Todd Wellemeyer.
