Killer of Sportscaster Arrested in Border Incident
2007-12-06 14:00:00 A 51-year old former patient, previously convicted for the murder of prominent Ottawa sportscaster, Brian Smith, in 1995 is being held in a Buffalo area jail following an altercation with a Peace Bridge officer on November 30. Jeffrey R. Arenberg of Barrie, Ontario had been attempting to cross the international border as part of a commercial bus filled with Canadian passengers. He had earlier been refused admission on November 5 based on a history of drug convictions. When the officer attempted to search him for weapons, Arenberg allegedly punched the officer in the face. He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing and has reportedly pled not guilty to the felony charge. In 1995, Arenberg went to an Ottawa television station and gunned down Brian Smith, a popular broadcaster and former hockey pro who had just finished his 6 p.m. sports show. The set doesn’t come though with what it promises--excellence--so the studio is just fishing for disappointment. This is true for the “Burt Lancaster Signature Collection,” a collection of five films that doesn’t offer any of Lancaster’s best movies, such as “From Here to Eternity,” “Birdman of Alcatraz,” “Judgment at Nuremberg,” “The Professionals,” “Atlantic City” and “Elmer Gantry,” the latter of which won him the Academy Award for Best Actor. Instead, we get 1950’s “Flame and the Arrow,” 1951’s “Jim Thorpe--All American,” 1953’s “South Sea Woman,” 1954’s “His Majesty O’Keefe” and 1973’s “Executive Action.” While those movies are good, especially "Thorpe," few would sign off on the idea that they are among the actor’s signature films. Grade: B-

The percentage of our users that are podcasters is shrinking, but our poge views and amount of users are actually growing. We just seem to be getting more and more listners/viewers that are using the site. When we built the last update, our goal was to be more user friendly to non podcasters. Our main goal was to make it easier to find podcasts of interest. Saying our search function was not the best is being kind. So we added google search to the site. Since google searches both the podcasts, and the forums it was a major improvement, Then we added a Tag Cloud. We put a mini cloud on the bottom of the front page. The main Tag Cloud is accessed by the word Tag next to our search box. We then decided that we need to break vidcasts out from podcasts, so we created three main section.
