ZiPhone Jailbreak: So Easy a Caveman Can Do It [See Video]
2008-03-28 06:11:00
Last August I published an article detailing my initial iPhone Jailbreak experience. At the time, Jailbreak was a time-consuming process, so I did it once but gave up on it after restoring my iPhone to install a new firmware update. Now there’s a much easier way to Jailbreak your iPhone — using ZiPhone — and it requires no more than 1 measly minute of your time. ZiPhone’s Jailbreak method is fool-proof. Don’t believe me? Watch this video of a caveman I caught using ZiPhone to Jailbreak my iPhone: Now that you’ve seen how easy it is to Jailbreak an iPhone with ZiPhone, you can do it yourself in 3 easy steps: Go to ZiPhone’s blog and download the latest software via the “Click here to Download ZiPhone” link just above the first blog post. Run the program. Plug in your iPhone — leaving iTunes open — and click the “Jailbreak iPhone” button. In about 55 seconds you’ll have a Jailbroken iPhone with...

David Letterman will trade his Unabomber look for that of a Wall Street trader on Monday's show.Letterman will turn his two-month-old facial Chia Pet into an on-air stunt akin to "Stupid Pet Tricks." Richard Huff NYDNLeno's debut beat Letterman 7 million viewers to 4 million. Apparently Tee Vee voyeurs went to rudderless Leno to rubberneck the trainwreck. "Leno flying blind is now the strike story of the moment. David Letterman, with his nice little WGA waiver, his staff of writers and his non-picket-line-crossing guests, is irrelevant. Bye, bye." Lisa de Moraes Wash PostStriking writers are upset that Jay continues to write his own monologue against guild rules. Leno "took a meeting" (in Hollywood parlance) with the WGA before he returned to the late night airwaves and told the union he planned to write his opening shtick. Car Insurance... What a Caveman Needs to Know
2007-11-23 05:19:00
"It's so easy even a caveman can do it", the announcer proclaims, alluding to how easy it is to save money with their car insurance company. While the advertisement has been hugely successful, even leading to a television series, the reality is neither a caveman, talking lizards, scantily clad models or anything else will make your car insurance any cheaper. Your insurance premium is primarily based on such things as your driving record, age, gender, location, the vehicle that you're insuring, and not on what insurance company you are with. If you really want to see how easy it is to save money with any insurance company, try getting cheap auto insurance with a less than perfect driving record including such indiscretions as speeding, accidents, or the dreaded D.U.I. You'll quickly find that 'easy' is a relative term; perhaps easier than Chinese Arithmetic, but not as easy as the ubiquitous commercials would lead you to believe. Even a caveman will find it hard to get cheap car...

Classless cadaverous Don Imus at a charity auction last night in NYC gives reporters the finger with his eight-year-old son in tow. New York ObserverIt's not within Imus's minute sphere to reach into his limited verbal grab bag and pull out a Churchillian riposte. Lady Astor: "You're drunk." Churchill: "Yes, madam, I am drunk. Even the God awful "Caveman" clubbed Matt.Wash Post's Tee Vee critic Lisa de Moraes pronounces: "The Golden Age of Washington Political Sex Scandals Goosing Network News Numbers -- over."I finally watched the interview. Matt didn't follow up on obvious questions. He should've brought up Craig's 40-year history of surreptitious gay encounters. Any illusions Matt had of using this tete-a-tete to legitimize him as a serious journalist were dashed as he hoisted himself on his own petard.
Be a Caveman: 3 Steps to Attract More Women
2007-10-14 05:47:00
Attracting more women by being a Caveman? Yeah, right. What woman in her right mind would want to date an uncultured savage who doesn't shower much, bosses them around, and doesn't care about how he looks? As much as you think this might be true, women actually are biologically and genetically programmed to look for this type of behavior in men. I'm not being a male chauvinist, but women need protection and need to feel safe. Back in the day, when a woman was being attacked by a sabre-tooth tiger, a heroic Caveman was the one who usually came to save her. This might feel a little exaggerated, but fast forward to the present day. This sentiment can be translated to modern times because it still holds true. Maybe not so precariously dangerous as the previous situation, but more so in the topics of today's world, including finances, parenting, and domestic duties. Just as women looked to Cavemen for protection centuries ago, modern-day women look for similar security and safekeepin...

Here?s an idea that will make you say ?why didn?t I think of that?? This flashlight is so simple, even a caveman could have designed it. Flash lights don?t come much simpler than this. ABC's Caveman Show, Proof that God has Stopped Watching Television
2007-09-13 14:56:00
In the tradition of Cop Rock and the George Forman show, ABC has again led the networks with it's new worst show ever made. Caveman is based on the Geico commercial that portrays metro sexual Cavemen in different contemporary scenarios. Geico ran the add campaign until the wow factor and the jokes all dried up. ABC execs who must be under the impression that the world will end under the 5th Mayan Sun to come in 2012, have boldly gone forward with the show. In a related story, the ghost of Phil Hartman has filed a law suit against Geico and ABC, citing his work on SNL as "Unfrozen-Caveman Lawyer," which like the Geico  premise found a caveman stuck in the modern world yet humorously adapting well. Hartman's main complaint other than trademark infringement, "it was funny like twice in 30 second sketches, and even then half the joke was the theme song."

The Caveman Diet
2007-09-11 18:40:00
The paleolithic diet, or "paleo" diet for short, is the original diet that humans consumed before the advent of agriculture. It's based on our old hunter and gatherer ways of eating that consisted of lean meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds. Everything else, like wheat, all other grains, flours, sugar, dairy products, beans, legumes and starchy tubers, are out.Sign up for Alison's Natural Cooking eLetter! Get articles, recipes and inspiration once a month - FREE!Why? The answer is simple: According to paleo experts and anthropologists, humans were really not designed to eat these foods in the first place. Since we've only been eating agricultural foods (wheat, grains, dairy, etc.) for some 10,000 years, paleo scientists agree that it just hasn't been long enough for our bodies to adapt. For the 2.5 million years before then, the hunter-gatherer diet was the diet we "grew up" on.Although some people seem to fare well with a modern diet of milk, wheat, sugar and grains, othe...
We Ask Ausiello: CAVEMAN! Huh?
2007-09-06 14:45:00
Well it’s taken two years, but we’ve finally come up with a question to Ask Ausiello. Hey Michael, what were you thinking? Recently, TVGuide’s Super Scooper Michael Ausiello, along with colleagues Stephen Battaglio and Lisa Chambers made the interesting decision to take part in a thirty minute clip show promoting ABC’s upcoming fall lineup. In the above clip, TVGuide’s Lisa Chambers called CAVEMAN’S leading man, err leading CAVEman Nick, “hysterical!” (Really, what clip was she watching?). Battaglio apparently found them sexually appealing (Hey, who are we to judge). While Ausiello calls the show’s premise absurd, but “promises that fifteen minutes into the show you kind of buy it.” Does anyone else think this kind of endorsement is a massive conflict of interest? Granted, theTVaddict.com is just a simple blog [shudder], but apparently, we were under the mistaken impression that the first rule of journalism was to rem...

GEICO Cavemen Strike With www.cavemanscrib.com
2007-08-21 10:12:00
Hey. There's a party going on at 1231 Whatever Place, otherwise known as The Caveman's Crib, so we're headed over to check it out. Once inside the crib -- and the website -- one has a choice of TV or radio or computer. What's this? It's a cool if rather annoying vehicle for you to keep thinking about Cavemen and thus GEICO -- you know. So easy a Caveman could do it? Personally, the commercials were not only annoying, they seem to poke fun at the real-life calls by people of color for better treatment and representation on television, and thus my main issue with this ad campaign. I think it's stupid and at a level even a Caveman could not reach. Ok. That aside, the online media efforts a good example of what's possible. This is great branding. You do remember the Cavemen and really can get lost in the site. Nice. It also shows how online marketing can help build a brand and its exposure online. More on this innovative use and wedding of online and offline marketing.

Sitcoms, so easy a Caveman can...
2007-07-31 23:51:00
As you've all probably heard, ABC is making a sitcom based on the Geico "Caveman" commercials. And I know, this topic has already been covered by thousands of bloggerists and pundits and George Lopez (get over it George, you didn't get canned because you are chicano. You got canned because you're show wasn't that funny. But I'm sure you can still get a hosting gig on Telemundo's "El Precio es Correcto!"), but I'm not the type of person who likes to jump on a topic when it's hot and...topical. The early bird gets the worm, unless those birds are drinking out of a tequila bottle and in that case the last bird gets the worm.I for one am actually pretty excited about this show. Not necessarily because I think it is going to be that good, but because it is literally (and by literally I mean figuratively) opening up pandora's box to a whole world of new sitcoms based on TV commercials. I think if the Cavemen series does well, the next show to be created from a series of commerica...

You often hear people talk about how complicated life is these days, and how things were much simpler in the past. Probably they are talking about their own youth, when everyone's life was simpler. Maybe we should take a trip WAY back, to a time when life was simple. No commuting, no computing, no neckties, no punching a timecard, no taxes. Sound good? All you had to do was kill a mammoth every month or so, eat as much of it as you could before the flesh spoiled, and avoid becoming dinner for a sabre-toothed tiger. And invent fire. Caveman Diet? Not If You Plan to Live More Than 30 Years
2007-07-03 09:52:00
Tip! ) you should have planned cheat meals and you should cycle carbs. Because if you stay on a to restrictive diet your metabolism slows. Some popular books tell you that because some prehistoric humans lived on large amounts of meat and ate no grains, you should do the same. That’s lousy advice. We do know that humans’ nutritional needs and system of digesting, processing and using nutrients have not changed significantly in two million years. We are omnivores and can get nutrients from plants, animals or both. The human race has managed to acquire food and survive on every body of land on earth except Antartica, and has adapted to major climate changes. No single food or group of foods is essential; humans can get the nutrients they need from any reasonably varied selection of plants and/or animals as they are found in nature.
