Save Cavemen!!!
2008-02-14 05:15:00
Want to save Cavemen from ABC's club, well Vulture from the NY Times has started a campaign to save the show.  Send your hair to ABC Entertainment president Stephen McPherson, along with a note reading, "Cavemen: Hair Today, Hair Tomorrow!," in the hopes that we, too, might rescue our favorite show. What better way to pledge your support for TV's finest sitcom about furry Neanderthals than to completely shave your head (or just get a trim — it doesn't matter, just so long as you fill the box or envelope to the top) and mail the sweepings directly to the man in charge of ABC's prime-time lineup? Just imagine the delighted look on his face as he tears opens his mail — with bits of hair probably flying up directly into his smiling mouth — and sees your unmitigated love for Cavemen, unquestionably one of the Greatest Television Shows of Our Time. He will have no choice but to DEMAND another season! Here's his address: Stephen McPhers...

CAVEMEN “Rock Vote” - 8pm ABC Sadly I don’t have much to say about Cavemen except that I really enjoyed last week’s storyline: Andy’s road rage, but then finding out he is a total coward when it really comes down to it. Hilarious! That was my favorite story of the season so far. NCIS “Designated Target” - ...
RELIGIOUS SECTS, CAVEMEN and NEW FRIENDS
2007-11-08 15:24:00
It's been a crazy two days for Childress county. The tired folks that did all the counting came up with three different final numbers three different times. Finally yesterday afternoon they officially said going wet passed by seven votes. Tuesday night it was 47 votes then early Wednesday morning it was 2 votes, now it's 7. Everyone has been saying that it's like we're living the Miami-Dade 2000 presidential elections all over again. Remember the story of hanging chads and not knowing who the president was going to be for weeks?I'm already tired of talking about last Tuesday's vote. Had I not promised you yesterday that I'd tell you about getting called a name, I would have skipped this altogether. I found the following quote in the "comments" section of this story about the Childress wet verses dry issue. Here's the quote about those who were against going wet."When you have a group of people in a community that do not allow it to grow the town will die. Alcohol is not the ...

CAVEMEN “The Mascot” - 8pm ABC So I’m still watching Cavemen. It’s not the best TV show ever, but it’s fun enough for 30 minutes of relaxing television. The only thing that annoys me about Cavemen is that they made some of the cavemen hard to distinguish from each other. Seriously, I have a hard time ...

If you have an urge to feel intellectually superior (and you?ve grown weary of watching your pooch doggedly pursue its tail), then tune into the new ABC sitcom, Cavemen. While this critically-panned show?which derives its inspiration from a series of Geico commercials?may leave you feeling only moderately more evolved than the prehistoric players, you ...

Mission Accomplished
2007-10-03 13:19:00
After 11 years, I submitted my final undergraduate college loan payment last night. I feel like I should write something about how I never thought this day would come or how this is such a great accomplishment. Well, I certainly am happy about this, otherwise I would not be announcing this on my blog. So today?s question, what is the bigger accomplishment? 1. Paying off my student loan,2. Earning free burritos for a year,3. Finishing sixth out of over 100 entries in a TV death pool,4. Winning a fantasy football or baseball league (which hasn't happened yet, but it will - I hope) OR5. Making it through the entire episode of "Cavemen" last night.Discuss.
Cavemen: bringing goofiness back to the sitcom
2007-10-03 03:37:00
Tonight ABC premiered the most anticipated show of the year ?Cavemen?.   The show is about a group of upwardly mobile educated yuppy cavemen living in San Diego.  Living quite well in San Diego given it is one of the most expensive places in the country to live. Of course the series is based on the series ...

GEICO Cavemen Strike With www.cavemanscrib.com
2007-08-21 10:12:00
Hey. There's a party going on at 1231 Whatever Place, otherwise known as The Caveman's Crib, so we're headed over to check it out. Once inside the crib -- and the website -- one has a choice of TV or radio or computer. What's this? It's a cool if rather annoying vehicle for you to keep thinking about Cavemen and thus GEICO -- you know. So easy a Caveman could do it? Personally, the commercials were not only annoying, they seem to poke fun at the real-life calls by people of color for better treatment and representation on television, and thus my main issue with this ad campaign. I think it's stupid and at a level even a Caveman could not reach. Ok. That aside, the online media efforts a good example of what's possible. This is great branding. You do remember the Cavemen and really can get lost in the site. Nice. It also shows how online marketing can help build a brand and its exposure online. More on this innovative use and wedding of online and offline marketing.

Geico ?Cavemen? Land TV Show
2007-08-07 03:20:00
Fueled by a whopping $403M media budget in 2005 and a reported 10 percent more than that last year, the cavemen from the GEICO ads have landed a sitcom on ABC. Meanwhile, Burger King has appeared in two video games and his Q Rating is rising as well. Wow. Who would have predicted that ...

Oldest DNA ever recovered shows warmer planet: report Scientists who probed two kilometers (1.2 miles) through a Greenland glacier to recover the oldest plant DNA on record said Thursday the planet was far warmer hundreds of thousands of years ago than is generally believed. They also indicated that during the last period between ice ages, 116,000-130,000 years ago, when temperatures were on average 5 C (9 F) higher than now, the glaciers on Greenland did not completely melt away. So what does this tell us? Well... it tells us that we have at least another 5 degrees to go before we can start really being concerned about unprecedented problems with global warming. It also tells us that the planet can get considerably warmer than it is today with or without the help of aerosol spray cans and the burning of fossil fuels. Now, does that mean that we don't have to get more environmentally friendly? Of course not. There are plenty of reasons for us to clean up the planet. But everyo...
ABC gives Cavemen own TV Show
2007-05-15 18:44:00
Desperate ABC is looking for a prime time hit so bad that they are turning to the Geico cavemen.  The hairy pre-historic men are getting their own TV show based on their successful and funny commercial series from the insurance giant.  The show will be called Cavemen. The network even picked up a comedy called “Cavemen,” ...
ABC’s Fall Schedule: CAVEMEN and CARPOOLERS and BIG SHOTS… Oh My!
2007-05-12 20:05:00
Commercial television takes on a whole new meaning this fall now that ABC is set to turn the modern cave dwellers who shot to fame in a series of Geiko commercials into the stars of their own sitcom. Hoping that what’s funny in 30-second spots will be uproarious in half-hour installments (and we have our doubts), the alphabet network is expected to announce this week that CAVEMEN will be given a slot on the schedule this fall. According to Variety, the culture comedy was one of 10 pilots picked up for the fall season. Among the others: DIRTY SEXY MONEY, starring SIX FEET UNDER alum Peter Krause as an attorney catering to the whims of a wealthy Manhattan clan; ELI STONE, in which visions propel a lawyer to take extraordinary actions; CASHMERE MAFIA, described as “the thinking woman’s SEX & THE CITY”; WOMEN’S MURDER CLUB, the pretty much self-explanatory series based on James Patterson’s best-selling mystery series; BIG SHOTS, which sounds like ...
Cavemen Chose Caves on Five Criteria
2007-04-23 08:15:00
Share on StumbleUpon: Jennifer Viegas, Discovery NewsHouse buyers today usually peruse properties with a checklist of desired features in mind. This aspect of human behavior has apparently not changed much over the millennia, according to a new study that found prehistoric cave dwellers in Britain did exactly the same thing when choosing their homes.
Geico Cavemen focus of ABC TV Pilot
2007-03-05 02:37:01
The cavemen from the Geico insurance ads have a chance of making it big in Hollywood. Writers are preparing a pilot script for ABC that will hopefully persuade company executives to pick up the show. In the ads, cavemen appear insulted by a Geico pitchman’s claim that the company’s Web site is so easy to use that “even a caveman can do it.” The potential series, one of 14 pilots that will be produced by Touchstone television this spring, features the cavemen as they “struggle with prejudice on a daily basis as they strive to live the lives of normal thirty-somethings in 2007 Atlanta.” One can assume that getting a pilot done in Hollywood is so easy that a caveman can do it.  Each studio has 13-17 pilot’s for each season. Usually only 2-5 are picked up and become an actual TV series.  A caveman movie was made back in 1981 staring Ringo Star and Dennis Quaid, but it featured a different type of caveman species.
WTF those Geico’s Cavemen ads inspire an ABC comedy?
2007-03-02 21:28:01
According to Variety ABC is developing a comedy based on the Cavemen from the Geico ads. The one camera comedy will revolve around 3 Caveman trying to fit in with 30-somethings in modern-day Atlanta. Why Atlanta? And why this show? It is a cute idea for 30 seconds, but 30 minutes, 22 times a years is way too much. What do you think?
That huge gap between us and the cavemen is getting smaller

The remains of a neanderthal settlement have been found on the Rock of Gibraltar, carbon-dated to just 24,000 years ago. This is 10,000 years later than the last known remains and, according to the rampant neanderthal lobby, brings these lovable people almost to the present day. It proves to those who have championed their cause that every discovery about neanderthals has them surviving longer
