KAJOL IN KAMAL?S UPCOMING FLICK MARMAYOGI

After Dasavatharam, the multi-talented star Kamal Haasan has begun pre-production work on his new flick ‘Marmayogi.’ Kamal is not only starring in this film, but he is also directing and producing it. It is a big budget film, and he is in search of a few suitable corporates to fund the recent project. ‘Marmayogi’ is said to be a historical adventure romantic movie with an ‘A’ list of actors. Kamal is trying to rope in a Bollywood starlet for his film, and the hum is that Kajol might get a call in this regard. The music of the film will be composed by ace music director AR Rahman. The rest of the cast and crew are being worked out. Marmayogi will be Kamal’s second movie, which gets its title from a famous yesteryear M.G.R. hit. A new Bollywood film on a shrewd businesswoman's plan to build a power plant caught up in development politics is drawing comparisons with the controversy behind the failed Indian project of U.S. utilities giant Enron. "Sarkar Raj," starring Bollywood's first family the Bachchans, has an uncanny resemblance to the real-life drama involving powerful politician Balasaheb Thackeray, whose party opposed a $2.8 billion power plant built by Enron in the 1990s. The controversy surrounding the private power plant, India's largest then, highlighted the politics of development and the difficulties of doing business in a country replete with corruption, political intimidation and red tape. The ninth annual International Indian Film Academy awards, Bollywood's top film honors, kicked off a weekend of events Friday in Bangkok, with the world premiere of "Sarkar Raj," directed by Ram Gopal Varma. A sequel to the 2005 hit "Sarkar" (an Indian homage to "The Godfather"), "Sarkar Raj" stars three members of the "first family of Indian cinema"legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek Bachchan and the younger Bachchan's wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Miss World 1994. Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty entered the celebrity physical fitness business on Friday, launching a new yoga video she called a "management system for life." The 32-year-old actress, who produced and stars in the video, said she made it in response to fans' questions about how she stayed fit. "A lot of fans have asked about my fitness regime -- I think this is the best way to tell them what to do to be healthy," Shetty told reporters as she released the video in the Indian capital.
